EPIC Zombie Apocalypse

EPIC Zombie Apocalypsedevonushka
Zombies are invading your base. Collect money from the wilderness during the day, bring it back to your base, and use it to buy defenses for your base.
This is a very complicated zombie survival level in which you defend your base from zombies during the night. To do this you must collect money from the wilderness during the day. You can then use this money to purchase turrets, a paintinator (and increased ammo capacity for this paintinator), more health, an auto-turret, or even a tank or truck for adventuring through the wilderness. This level is very complicated, and has a lot of depth to it, including 9 different turrets, 5 types of zombies and 2 separate adventure areas. You will have to learn a lot of this level on your own, but you should definitely read the tutorial to understand the basics.

For a very overused idea, this looks pretty cool. I would recommend getting those pics up soon!

I'll post my feedback in a couple of hours!

It was a good idea but it was too slow paced for me. Everyone else seems to like it though so forget about me.2010-07-24 02:36:00

Ok, so like some one said before, this is generally an over-used idea, however, I will hand it too you, this is the most complicated zombie survival level that I've seen. I'm sure the logic must have taken you forever. Also the level had a nice adventure feel to it as well, due to the daytime collection runs. Lastly I would also agre that the pacing is probably too slow for the average LBP player. I know there is nothing you can do to easily edit that now but I'd would just keep it in mind for your next level.

Check out my level "A Realm Forgotten" if you get a chance, and leave a comment on my page, Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I know it's a bit slow, I actually like it like that, but do you guys have any ideas on how it could be faster?
P.S. I'll check out your level

Thanks for commenting on my level!
Onto this...
Wow! The logic is brilliant!
I played it on my own, so I'll come back with friends for more help. I didn't last long though because when I bought a turret, I didn't get one. Maybe I was doing it wrong. When I play it with friends I'll have a closer read of the instructions.

Gameplay: :star::star::star::star::star:
Brilliantly original!

Story: :star::star::star::star:
You basic survival story but with the day/night giving it an extra star.

Detail: :star::star::star:
Enough detail to know what is what but presumably the logic took up most of the thermo so it is fine!

Overall :star::star::star::star::star: & a <3 for making me want to play it with friends.

A lot of people have the same problem with the turret. It should work fine, so maybe you had one of these 3 problems:
1) Didn't have 3 gold
2) Tried to buy a tier 2 or 3 turret without the respective tier 1 turret
3) Didn't realize that it's a sticker switch

Anyway, thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it.

Also, you're tight about the thermometer, since putting in 1 grab switch will overheat it.

EDIT: A lot of people have been saying that the turrets don't work in the comments of the level so I played it to make sure, and they do indeed work.

I play this about once a day but I'm always losing at day 2 or 3, reason is because the turrets don't really help much. Plus it's a huge pain carrying the money bak to base, especially the diamond I can't even get it out of the cave it's too heavy. IMO I think the day cycle should be longer since we have to find money then carry it back and go back for paint ammo for the military base or just get rid of carrying the money back and just make it grabble.2010-07-29 03:36:00

I think a lot of people would disagree with you. Most people say it should be shorter. Also, you're supposed to use the tank for the military base, or at least a fully upgraded paintinator... I thought I made that clear... Also, getting the diamond out of the cave is hard, not impossible. Do you really think I would have not tested it? I worked on this for like 3-4 months.2010-07-29 06:57:00

Ah, I thought it was 2 coins for a tier 1 turret.
Maybe make the prices more obvious?

@Jedi_1993: They're in the tutorial, but I guess I could write them somewhere....

@talbot-trembler: I always play it with friends, it's a lot more fun that way. (plus you can get farther)

Ok I can say that you DO NOT need a tank for military base, I done it just now with paint gun maxed by myself. The reward is very nice and now I know why the truck looks like that. But the truck is way to hard to control to get that 'reward'. I am on day 7, now gate has full health thanks to tier 3 sprd and atv. I can also say the atv is a helluva lot better than tier 1 turrets in beginning. With atv my gate lost about 1 or 2 health with atv alone on first day. However if I were using tier 1 it would be more than half my gate health gone.2010-07-30 23:29:00

@DS54: I'm hoping you didn't just quit at day 7, you were about to get to the fun part Also, I realize that the atv is better than a tier 1 turret, but it can die, unlike the tier 1 turret. And yes, the truck is hard to control, and the tank is really for fun. The truck is impossible to fix, because it has to drive faster than a sackboy can run, but also perform a function. If you can build me a better one I'll put it in.2010-07-30 23:42:00

I actually died at day 8 or 9 because I went to try the truck and it got stuck And didn't have any gold left to fix the wall. But I'll see if I can do something for the truck. If you can send me the truck too that would help alot, PSN is DemonShot542010-07-31 00:13:00

Okay, I will. You can add me next time you're on. Or I'll add you next time I'm on.
Anyway, Specs should be as such:
-Drives faster than a sackboy can run
-Can hold obtain and drop 5 coins without you getting out of the cockpit area
-Can fit on the platform in front of the vehicle shop

I have to check this out! Looks epic!
This actually uses a concept I thought of a long time ago. It's awesome someone is making this in LBP1. Me and some other creators are making our own version of this concept in LBP2, so it should be cool.

You have obviously spent a lot of time on this level 5 stars, I dunno you may have fixed it already but the turret wouldn't stay in place and nor would the paintonator. Just add some little groves in the material so they stay in place seeing as you can't stick them down.F4F in signature.2010-07-31 14:57:00

Sorry for a little delay on this feedback...
I tried this level, I'm not sure if I like it, I think it's not really made for me. That does not mean that it would be bad or anything, I just think it was too complicated for me to enjoy.
The idea itself is awesome and original (I think...) so that's a good thing. It's a really good survival, but I just happen to like survivals that are easy to play and fast to learn.
I think I should play this again, try stuff a little more and use the coins in different ways and then write back. I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: for the effort and idea and pretty much everything.

Umm so to sum it up, the level is great and the idea is awesome. The only problem is me, I just didn't get the feel of it.
Just as an idea, you could try to do something more complicated but easier to play and learn in LBP2 when it comes out.

I think I just wrote the most confusing post of this entire thread, sorry for that.

Yes you did Napero7. You basically said that you liked it, disliked it, and that it was great. Anyway, I know what you're trying to say. Thanks for the feedback.

MasterCreator: Thanks for the suggestion, I thought about that, but because of a lot of complications in emitting 3 way levers, that would've been difficult. I will try it in the sequel, whenever I make that. Also, I'll be sure to check out your level.

I got a currency system from a level but how do I make it emit something when I kill say a zombie?2010-08-20 06:47:00

Oh. In order for it to give you money, you have to have a switch that gets activated by the death of the zombie. One way to do this would be to have a one shot magnetic key switch connected to the tablet emitter in the currency machine. Put this magnetic key so that it encompasses the whole battlefield, then once a zombie dies have it emit a key for that switch that lasts .1 seconds. Doing this will cause the death of a zombie to give you money.

P.S. Sorry I can't connect to you, but I really tried to join and invite you like 5 times, and it didn't work any of the times.
