Mario Party

Archive: 8 posts

First of all, if you haven't played any Mario Party games before click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHa51N7icgw) to see some gameplay of Mario Party 4 (I think Mario Party 8 is the most recent). Also, please note I did not watch that video all the way through and watched it without sound, so if it has anything rude or something that goes against the rules of LBPC please notify me ASAP. Thanks.

I can't say exactly how much I'll manage to do until I play LBP2 (Obviously) but based on what I know already, the following is what I think might be possible.

So far I'm not sure whether I'll make it Mario Party and use Mario characters or use characters from other games, I don't know. However I am planning to make a character selection at the start (You'll be put into the Sackbot of the character you chose).

I'm also hoping to make computer players, according to rtm it is possible to detect how many players there are using sensor switches in LBP2. So there will always be 4 players depending on how many human players there are will affect how many computer players there are. I doubt it will be possible to change how clever Sackbots are, but if it is possible hopefully you'll also be able to set their difficulty.

Each player will take turns to roll the dice (Including computer players) and will then move said number of spaces. Once all players have rolled the dice the game will then automatically go onto a random mini game (I'm planning to make as much as the thermometer will let me). And if you know how Mario Party works this level/game will work the same(ish) way.

I just wanted to share this idea so people can know what to expect from me come November this year on LBP2.

(Note: November is not the exact date, it's just the most common estimated arrival date, don't get your hopes up. )

Sounds cool. I've never played any of the party games apart from the latest one (I think it is 8). While I never really adored it I can't say I never enjoyed it. It definately won't be easy to make but then again, it won't be impossible.

Wish you the best!

I played (and loved) Mario Party's 4-6. I haven't played the more recent ones because they don't look like they would have been as good as the ones I've played. (Mario Party 4 and 6 were my favorite). Good luck on your quest, though.2010-07-22 16:50:00

Yeah, the earlier ones were the best.

I'm not sure which game this was from but out of all the ones I've played, my favourite mini game was 'Lights out'. So I'm definitely gonna give that one a shot, although it'd probably be too hard...
