Can anyone think of exciting new tools to add?

I think it would be cool if you could adjust the gravity of certain areas like you would select and grab some corner to where you highlight the area that you want to have lets say x2 normal gravity or 1/2 normal gravity.2008-10-14 00:47:00

What about wind or something along those lines? Maybe fans that we can make visable or invisible like the other tools. It would be tweakable. We could set it low just for atmosphere or crank it up to incorporate into a puzzle of sorts.

Of course, some kind of water tool would be cool. Not sure how this would work, maybe requiring some kind of containment to be treated as real water. Anyone ever play Downstream Panic on the PSP? Awesome puzzle game using water.

Well you can tweak certain things to make them invisible, so I don't think it would be a tool. I suppose they just decided to make explosives visible so that you could see it. I mean, aren't real explosives visible?

It would be cool if you could make it to where jet-packs have fuel so you have to go fast or you drop into fire.

Hey, maybe there's power-ups that we haven't heard about... there's a Character Enhancements in the Tools section, and the Jetpack was the only thing in there... maybe there's more in the game (or updates).

I want Ice back in the game. I had a few puzzles based around sliding sackboys and girls around as ice blocks.

If it's in the game but not the beta, I'd like to see a few more dangers. If water was in there, how about acid?

Gravity tweaking and magnets would also be on my list.

I want spring shoes for my sackboy so he can jump super high for a certain amount of time. Have it so where it works like the jetpack as far as radius of effect. Or maybe tweakable so you can only bounce a certain number of times.2008-10-14 14:37:00

Like I said: Power-Ups FTW! I think it would be easier to make a power-up for boosted jumping than an item for it. How do you restrict a Sackboy with spring shoes - tie a rope around him to a random post?

An option on the grab switch to trigger only when all sackboys in the level are grabbing the object. I can't count the number of times someone else has started a car/mine-cart/rocket/airplane before everyone else has jumped on.2008-10-14 15:09:00

I had it somewhere on this forum,I don't know who first mentioned it, but it's not in the manual, it wasn't in the beta, and I haven't seen it in a trailer since '07 (I think), so I don't think it's a massive leap to presume it might not be there, at launch anyways. I hope I'm wrong.

magnets are top of my list. Thought of loads of things to do with them. Also a thing like a black hole which sucks anything towards it or the opposite that repels things away. Magnets should only work with metal, actually scrap that, you should be able to say which items are + or - in your level. I would also love the option to have teams. Like 2v2 which would be really good for mini games. Obviously timers on switches would be handy. You should be able to tweak each wire to say what delay there should be before operating the motor, piston, winch etc. Therefore with one switch you could operate a sequence of events. I know this one has been said time and time again, but I really think with the inclusion of liquids, the possibilities of the game will double.

You could have:
- The obvious one, water to swim in.
- Flowing lava.
- Quicksand that you slowly fall through.
- Pools of acid.

You could argue that this would be impossible to program into the game and still allow players to use it in there levels. But I disagree, I would think it's be possible to allow the player to drag and select an area where the liquid will "drop" into the game world then you can tweak the liquids colour, density and attributes.

I don't think it's something we'll ever see but it would certainly be cool.

Yeah, more things for the gameplay modes would be cool besides the known Scoreboard and Race Start and Race End flags. Teams would be cool. The object would be a different Entry Gate that is divided down the middle, and each side of it would have the team's color (both players Pop-It colors in a certain pattern that could be tweaked, for example: checkered, horizontal stripes, vertical stripes, etc.). In the off chance the both teams have the same colors, than one side would have a different pattern (tweakable in the tweak menu). Along with the Entry Gate would be similar Team Checkpoints that look the same, and it will only activate for you once the other person on your team passes it (so if one member of the first team reached the Team Checkpoint first, than the left side of the Team Checkpoint would activate and light up). Hmmm, this is a pretty good idea. I might expand it later.

i would like to see a score board so i can make death match type game modes

tool to have would be gravtiy, so then i can make space levels, and also certain things have more gravity then over so you could be walkng upside down, aslo gravity swtich where you can turn gavity on and off.

make oject float would be a good one

and brain specific triggers so u can have a boss with more than 1 brain and every time u destroy one the boss gets harder

The main thing I would want is wind. Maybe shown as wispy trails in the direction that it's blowing. You could funnel it and make wind jump pads that boost Sackboy.

Also I hope ice IS in, although I never heard that it wasn't, but there seems to be some uncertainty about it.

Oh, last but not least, be able to change some of the forces, for example, if you have a plane, edit the gravity and wind pressure so it can fly properly.

Just those really.

I wish that we had fire torches that could be tweaked. They could be triggered by proximity or on all of the time. And the height or length and duration could be controlled as well. And maybe even have a random setting were you never knew how high or long it would last. This could be tied into some good platform jumping levels. 2008-10-16 15:03:00

There is a candle object, and you can remove and copy the flame. That could work. I'm sure there will be a lot more lighting objects though.

Yeah, I found out. I don't understand why, there didn't seem to be any problems with it. Water, now that I can understand why that wouldn't work well, but ice? Maybe they didn't like the idea of ice and fire because they felt it would make illogical situations (ice next to fire without it melting, etc.). I hope it comes out as DLC.

How about somekind of tool to make an object move in complex directions? It's most likely possible to do this, but it's probably overcomplicated. Let me explain:

In the game, you can make objects move up and down or left and right, but it's too complicated to make an object move in a circular, or rectangular, direction. Say I want to make a platform come down, go to the right, go up, and then go to the left, making a rectangle shape.

A way to control a creation 1:1. i.e you get in you space ship, and just tilt the left stick to move it, rather than having your sackboy pull levers. It could detract from the creativity a bit though.2008-10-17 06:01:00
