Marvel costume kit 2, my opinion

Archive: 15 posts

After anticipating greatly, the new marvel costume kit, i thought it was worth the ?4.79 but felt it wasn't as good as i thought it would be, but some, were exactly how i thought they would they would be!

1) First of all (My disappointment) was The human torch, After seeing the picture on Marvel.com i actually believed that the costume would actually be on fire, (like the skin) actually meaning you could really combine this skin with other costume pieces and make some sweet looking costumes, but after remembering that they were going to release elemental costumes in LBP2 made me realise that the costume, because it is in LBP1 wouldn't be on fire, but nether the less it is still an amazing costume because, i've always loved the sacktue of liberty torch costume piece.

2) I suppose you got pretty much what you expected with the Elektra costume, for me its the costume i won't use (because its for girls) but i do like the dagger you get with it, but i was hoping that you would carry two, like in Marvel.com's picture, but again i remembered that you can only carry 1 item in sackboy's right hand! but nether the less, it is still a fantastic costume for the female side of LBP community!

3) Is the Spider-man costume now this was almost exactly what I had hoped for, one thing i didn't realise was that his body suit was a skin (but i would of probably found that out by looking at LBP.com) but this costume when complete, looks amazing, and you can sill wear hair with the mask, which is pretty strange, but another thing i found strange was how you still receive spider-man eyes with it, yet eyes are included with the mask!

4) now i've never watched Ghost-rider but the costume is pretty sweet, again his head isn't actually on fire, but the fake fire is good enough. the other costume pieces are pretty sweet (like, his top, trousers, his gloves) and i can tell a lot of LBP community members are going to use them!

5) Finally, Thor, now when thor's costume is complete it looks pretty epic, the hammer, to me, is the best part and to me the hair looks kinda naff, unless its combined with the helmet, the cape is also cool, its different to the in-game roman cape, its a lot more shorter & wider. The strange thing was, i was going to purchase the norse mythology pack, to get the costumes from there, but Thor, is equally as good (and cheaper too, if bought on his own)

So for my final outcome i am going to give this costume pack 8.2/10

In my opinion this pack is better than Marvel costume kit 1 (Dr Octopus was a huge letdown for me)

Ah well you see the reason i didn't like the costume was the robotic arms are used as a torso piece, not a neck piece (like mantis's costume from MGS pack) so i cant wear my signature trench coat

Yeah, I liked all the costumes in the marvel costume kit 1, but I also agree that I would've liked it better to wear a shirt with those robotic tentacles.2010-07-22 14:13:00

Im afraid that I am not going to get this, I tend to create a lot more and have no use for these costumes, although the more costumes the better. They still don't cut the ?5 for me (sorry all other users who use a different currency)2010-07-22 23:02:00

Eh, think of it this way, they will assist your creating in LBP 2 with the sackbots...2010-07-22 23:08:00

I used to think that, but after purchasing a few costumes, i got really creative mixing & matching different costume pieces together, and after doing that, when i was creating levels it made it easier to realise what went well together (such as materials, stickers) and what didn't so it still helps with creating! (well for me anyway)

Also like Super_Clone says it will help even more in LBP2 if you have a big wardrobe of costumes for your sackbots
