Morbid Despair part 2 (Horror)xX-Delirium-Xx http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_11.jpg( Single player strongly recommend) (may desturb some players ages 15+) Doctor Morbid has dropped you in to the sewers and is not far behind. Can you uncover his insanity and escape him and his hellish creatures? After many requests I have made the second and final part of Morbid Despair. I have built it entirely in the 3d glitch and the bar is at max. I focused on making it more friendly to less hardcore players by making the layout less like a maze and put many hints at puzzle areas. Number of players recommended: (1) (SINGLE PLAYER IS THE BEST AS THERE IS AS FAR AS i KNOW NO GLITCHES OR LAG, 2 PLAYERS IS OK BUT MAKES IT TOO EASY. BUT ANY MORE THEN 2 PLAYERS WILL RUIN IT AND MAY CRASH!) The Books: RED = doctor's diary, BLUE = Hints and Doctors notes (as not to force people to read all the text in the game, I placed books that are optional. If you want to read the books just grab on to one of the pages ( normally the one facing you when you find them) Endings: There are two endings, bad and good (bad is you die by getting caught by the DR M) I have tested this level many times and the only time I had any problems was with multilayer. Again Single player strongly recommended. Photos: http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_5-2.jpg The first puzzle if you can not figure it out the blue book gives a clue http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_7-1.jpg Very damaged area :-P http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_8.jpg O_O who is in my tanks? http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_10.jpg Dr Morbid in this shot... I'm hiding in the cupboard :-P http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_12.jpg the second puzzle. the blue book gives the answer http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_11.jpg The first boss :-P its fun playing solo for this part but its too easy with multi. | 2010-07-22 01:18:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |

- Feedback - Pro- This is now my favorite horror level, the chase scenes scared the crap out of me and the idea of hiding in a closet is cool! Con- A few grammatical errors, but that doesn't matter much. Overall- It was phenomenal. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: and a <3 | 2010-07-22 10:39:00 Author: AbstractFlesh Posts: 837 |

If you can point out the errors i'll try to fix them >.> I'm not good at it though, and with the small space to put text it it makes it hard lol. Well I'm glad you enjoyed I was worried there be a lot f people complaining about bugs but it looks like they all are playing solo like its so post to be ^^ | 2010-07-22 20:16:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |
It wasn't that scary. But it was amazing. It didn't even feel like I was playing LBP. That's rare. I loved it. I had an idea while fighting the last boss, maybe you should make it more Shadow of the Collossusy? Because I jumped on his tentacle and climbed to his head and that was really fun, haha. Great level. One of my favorites of all time. 5 stars and a <3 | 2010-07-22 21:30:00 Author: AbstractSam Posts: 332 |

So Far as I play this level I'm loving it. The running scenes and geniunely frightening and the visuals and superb (running the subway was the best). But I think I found a major game breaking bug (I am playing single player). In the boss fight displayed in your sig picture, the boss just started to shoot out eyes nonstop. And since they're drawn to the player, there is like 5 of them circling the checkpoint so I can't even move because an eye kills me instantly. IDK what happened but I hope you fix it. Even with what I've seen, I'm already giving this level :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3. P.S. try my level. names in the sig. | 2010-07-22 22:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
Amazing. It's hard to believe that a level such as this can exist along side levels such as "Happy Fun Jumps". This was just as scary as any survival horror game out there! :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 One bug I found - I jumped and ended up in one of the toilet cubicles and couldn't get out, so I had to restart because of the single-life checkpoint. | 2010-07-22 23:14:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |

Rhys125 thanks for the heads up I will ad a spawn point right before that. AbstractSam I had thought of that, sadly the level is too close to max to the point I have to do a trick to add more things in :-( | 2010-07-23 01:47:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |

Yah but I died and the second I spawn a eye got me before I could even move. Sackboy would still be doing the uncontrollable flip out of the checkpoint and I would die. Mabye a moving checkpoint? | 2010-07-23 02:01:00 Author: Unknown User |
Very nice survival horror. You really captured a creepy and immersive atmosphere. I thought the monsters brought this home the best, both in their design and how they moved. The first monster that chases you was my favorite. Also, very good use of the 3d glitch. This was used to the best effect with your subway trains. I give this a 5/5 for a LBP horror level, mainly due to the haunting atmosphere. Oh, and if you got the time please check out my level "A Realm Forgotten" and leave a comment on my thread, Thanks! | 2010-07-23 04:01:00 Author: Lockstitch Posts: 415 |

While it is certainly the creepiest / scariest level I have played so far (reminds me of games like Silent Hill and the original Resident Evil) I had to give up part way through because I got stuck. It was the part where you have to line up the compass points. No matter what I tried I couldn't get them to line up and instead it kept resetting itself due to the weight of sackboy pulling the handles to the centre. If you can make this easier to do (somehow) I shall be glad to try it again Pros: Good visuals and great use of the 3D glitch Nice spooky atmosphere Great story Cons: Bit too dark in places The compass puzzle | 2010-07-23 12:34:00 Author: cthulhu82 Posts: 211 |

TIP: Match red arrow first. Hope that helps :-) | 2010-07-23 15:47:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |
Took about 20 mins to finally get the compass points lined up even starting with the red one. The friction was causing whatever one I had lined up to move out of place when I tried to move the next one. Still I finally maaged to get it done in the end. Also like Grim-421 I was stuck in a Spawn-Die-Spawn loop with the boss fora while but I managed to get out of it by wiggling the stick (don't ask me how that worked it just did). Still it was a great boss and certainly suited the mood of the game. I just hope there is going to be a part 3 because I am really enjoying the story. Oh and I loved the little diaries, nice way of creating a backstory. 5 stars and a Heart | 2010-07-23 16:11:00 Author: cthulhu82 Posts: 211 |
Played this and totally freaked out. I've never got truly scared by a level before, but that was horrible. And I loved every second of it! | 2010-07-23 22:19:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
I think that by telling this is the best horror level ever im telling everything. Good job! Can you please try my new level Trapped 2 and leave me some feedback | 2010-07-24 01:45:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
I have added a spawn before the bathroom and made first boss spawn move around to make spawning a bit easyer. I also did a few tuch ups on dr m second encounter , he shouldn't get stuck any more. Thank you all who brought those issue to light. ps. If falling train lands wrong and you get stuck, I apologise. It is a bit random as your sackperson bounceing around alternates how it lands. howevery it rarely happens. Traped 2? I'll look it up | 2010-07-24 03:07:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |
sheesh man didn't even tell me you finished this? for shame lol anyways it was a great play...REALLY lots of suspense and "jump at you" moments that got me wanting more and the final boss and the end story telling when the police cop asks you what happened....priceless i expect this to be SPOTLIGHTED ASAP p.s. **** YOU lol....you know EXACTLY which part i'm talking about too | 2010-07-24 03:37:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
The weak vent, slime trail using 3D glitch, organ tank and how parts fell off the monsters were my favs bits. After I killed the dude with long red tentacles, nothing happened, so I couldn't continue. Unless I was meant to do something else? Then I tried a replay and got "dead end". Why do you still get this even after the good dr. goes to the left? lol @ that btw. Some very cool elements in this level. 5 stars from me. | 2010-07-24 08:09:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

HMMM well normally a chain falls down to lift you up. .. did you wait for it? Yeah for ages, when nothing happened I jumped and grabbed everywhere hoping to continue. Where does it drop down? Sometimes due to quick paintinator shots in succession (I assume this is the cause) on bosses/paint switches(maybe combined use of oneshot and on/off switch on one piece of dissolve? idk), some things don't activate <1% of the time. It happened once while playing my level (had similar setup) and never happened again. I wouldn't worry about since it doesn't happen very often at all. How far was I from the end? I'll be sure to have another go. I'm sure the spotlight will remind me. | 2010-07-25 10:42:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

Anyway I rearrange that part so it shouldn't happen again, I had it on a falling logic but now its attached to the bosses paint switch. :-) Thank you for pointing it out . | 2010-07-25 15:43:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |
Awesome level, man! I can't say I found any cons other than the first puzzle was a tad hard to get the green arrow in place. Great level, man! | 2010-07-25 19:03:00 Author: Phosphorus15 Posts: 463 |
Wow I noticed that my plays have sky rocketed :-) I enjoy reading the comments on it as many are funny. sackfedora glade you liked, Yeah the wheels rub a bit but it makes it a bit more challenging so that's what makes it fun I think. | 2010-07-26 20:55:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |
This was a level that truly scared me... It didn't just creep me out (Which it did a great job a doing) It literally made me jump out of my seat! The scare in the beginning was completely out of nowhere and I wasn't expecting it at all! You did a very good job with the atmosphere of the level and used the 50-layer glitch very well! I also loved the "You are dead" screen and the music that went along with! At the beginning though one of the speech bubbles misused a form of "to" instead of "to" use "too". Not very much I can say about it that is bad though so well done! I gave it 5 :star: s and a <3 | 2010-07-28 00:59:00 Author: singularik Posts: 130 |
Ive played it a few times.. Really awesome level, made me scream a few times. Love the monster that chase you at the beginning . Great atmosphere. The subway part when ona part um falls down.. i fell of the room.. and got stuck on the darkness :3 but still great!. The boss hmm was pretty hard but had fun killing it but when i killed it, i think the lvl broke.. the rope didnt appear so i had to restart but had fun playing it again! Great level :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3! | 2010-07-28 02:18:00 Author: Joey Posts: 758 |
Alright, I played this level, and here's my review. +The part where you get the ey at the beginning is well-made and scary. +Loved the parts where you're chased by Dr. Morbid. +The gameplay itself was fun. +I liked how the camera zoomed on the window when you walk past, and you expect something to pop up. +Great use of the 3D glitch with the subway. My favorite part. +I kinda thought including a boss was something of a strange decision, but he was well made both times you fight him. -Some spelling/grammatical errors and oddly worded bits. -I thought the ending was kind of strange. Like how the police knew to look down into the sewer. -I thought the actual faces on the clones looked out of place. Over all, a great level. 5 stars and a heart. | 2010-07-28 02:26:00 Author: Darth Posts: 186 |
-I thought the ending was kind of strange. Like how the police knew to look down into the sewer. in delirium's defense the cop talked about tentacles attacking and such...and probably heard the boss fight as he was nearing the sewer manhole opening so he probably found out someone was down there needing help...anyways that's how i saw it tryin to help you enjoy the story/ending more | 2010-07-28 02:52:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
One of the best horror levels Ive ever played! Reminded me of my favourite horror films from the 70s/80s, like The Thing, BodySnatchers, Reanimator etc. Brilliant style and atmosphere. The train section is an ingenious use of 3D, such a cool part, walkin between those carriages. Also the boss fights are incredible - the way they deteriorate as theyre weakened, spot on! | 2010-07-28 16:09:00 Author: AccumulationNone Posts: 58 |

I thought that the whole "tentacles attacking the city" thing was rather odd. | 2010-07-28 18:24:00 Author: Darth Posts: 186 |
You make some creepy levels. It definitely takes a lot of talent to create a horror level in a game this cute. I'll check this out next time I'm on...and I'm ALONE! | 2010-07-28 18:36:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
This is probably in my eyes the scariest level on LBP, and i thnk you captured the horror feel superbly , the chase scenes with mr morbid was very frightening especially the cupboard part as he moves faster and he caught me the first time and that really freaked me out haha. overall i gave it 5 stars and a heart | 2010-07-28 23:24:00 Author: geddez12 Posts: 338 |

Ok, I got around to playing this yesterday, (as well as replaying the first one for a little refresher), and this was terrifying. The only scare that didn't make me borderline pee and cause my heart to borderline explode was the first one, which I felt was just a bit too early. Other than that, this is another great, scary level. The timing was, to me, unexpected. I didn't expect scares to come so often wherein the first one you wandered around the abandoned underground lab/warehouse thing for half the level and all that happened was a walkway fell. That is to say, the first one was still scary, it was just different; really slow building and made scares more dramatic. Anyway, I still think this one was scarier than the first one. Every time an enemy came out I was genuinely scared. The atmosphere was perfect, and the 3D was, honestly, the best 3d I've seen in all of LittleBigPLanet, especially at the subway section. Fantastic job on this level and keep it up. | 2010-07-30 17:20:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
the 3D was, honestly, the best 3d I've seen in all of LittleBigPLanet, especially at the subway section. THIS the 3D was the highlight of the level because i felt i was "stuck" in the level with sackboy...other levels you notice you're playing the level but with the 3D effect here i felt boxed in the level with sackboy....really awesome and spooky | 2010-07-31 01:14:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
I probably won't be making any more horrors till lbp2 so in the meantime feel free to leave me ideas for a new series that I may work on later. and of any one wants feed back feel free to ask as I have more free time now. | 2010-08-05 17:53:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |
ShamgarBlade and I stumbled on this level while gadding away, and we happily got the stuffing scared out of us! Easily the most successfully terrifying level I've ever played! Being chased, hiding, needing to explore places we did NOT want to go! It had everything! We exchanged little jokes and looks of shock and horror all the way through, and had an absolute blast! Every falling piece of scenery seemed to find Shamgar's head! Hilarious! This was a wonderfully macabre and spine tingling experience. Never seen horror done so well in LBP. Very well done. My wife is even quick to remind me that at one point, she managed to spook me from behind. She hasn't been able to do that since I played BioShock or a Resident Evil title! Really wonderful! And it's great to find you here on the forums so I can tell you so! Need I say... Five pointy :star:'s, and a big gooey, freshly ripped-out <3 for both disembodied parts! | 2010-09-05 06:50:00 Author: SpeedyMcKnuckles Posts: 331 |
I missed this thread when you first posted it, but I discovered the level a few weeks ago when searching my hearted creators list. Yes, you're on it...and yes, I'm miffed you didn't message me to let me know the level was finished! I don't always have the inclination to regularly check the showcase thread, but I'll always find time to play a Delirium level if I know about it. Anyhow. This level is the bomb. Dark, bloody and nasty, like a constipated stool after you forgot to eat any fibre for a week. Erm...what!? The gameplay was reminiscent of Clocktower/Haunting Ground, while the visuals conjured the atmosphere of Silent Hill. Highlights for me were the sections where you had to hide from the chainsaw dude, the room full of mutilated corpses on surgical tables, the bit where the bloody hands slide down the window, the awesome looking train station, the glass tank full of floating body chunks, and the end boss. What a boss! The level also had plenty of subtle little touches that helped to gradually build up the tension and get you to a quivering jelly state before finally jumping on your back and screaming in your ear to finish you off with a cardiac arrest. The visual aspect of the level was stunning, inducing a great sense of paranoia and claustrophobia, and with some great applications of the 3d glitch, though occasionally some of the "filler" areas looked a little bit bland in comparison to the highly detailed areas of gameplay focus. The only thing I might change is the gas in the doorway where chainsaw guy chases you for the second time. After escaping him I went back to the place where he emerged from, to poke around and see what was there, but then I got killed by gas which I couldn't see from that camera angle. This triggered the chainsaw death cutscene, even though chainsaw guy had gone. It was a bit frustrating having to start the whole level again because of that. Aside from that minor niggle though, everything else seemed to flow perfectly without any major hitches, with some really impressive scene orchestration and psychological manipulation where the big scare events occured. Anyhow, I've heard some people say that my own level Tenement is the scariest level out there. Well, it's not. Morbid Despair 2 is the scariest level by a long shot. :star::star::star::star::star:<3 | 2010-09-05 12:17:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
Wow, I played this level some hours ago. Well, it's been a weird experience. I didn't belive possible to create such a level like this in LBP. It's really scary! I mean, you captured perfectly the atmosphere of survival horror games like Resident Evil. The use of the 3D glitch is great, and really helps creating the atmosphere. The sounds are one of the most important part of the level, and you use them perfectly. The scene in the train statain, and when it falls is AWESOME. Congratulations! The only thing I could point about this level is that it is sometimes too slow.60% of the level is just walk-through, which is little bit boring. Perhaps if you add little bit gameplay it could be little bit improved. Anyway, I understand this is not the kind of level to develop too complex platforms :star::star::star::star::star: from me It would be great if you could play my F4F level "The tanks factory 2" and give me some constructive criticism | 2010-09-06 21:53:00 Author: onturenio Posts: 138 |
