Complexity Issue

Archive: 7 posts

Can someone please help or explain to me how to get around the notification that says " There is too much complexity in this area of your level. Try spacing out objects." or something along the lines of that. It always appears near the end of my level where i have a magic mouth activated with a cutscene camera. It is really annoying and it is preventing me from adding the finishing touches on my level. 2010-07-21 21:49:00

I think it's much like the "this object is getting too complex" message. it means that the area will bog down the game engine too much if you add more.

Try gluing anything that doesn't have to move to the floor or dark matter, spacing out objects, as it said, or look at the tricks in the thermo cheating thread here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=16840).

That message is a little misleading. It's not only based on how many objects are in a particular area, but how much of that area the game has to render at once. If your cutscene camera is configured to show a larger area than usual, you're more likely to get this message, so configuring the camera to be less zoomed out (if practical) might also get rid of it.

Contrary to comphermc's guide, I don't believe that gluing stuff down will help with this, but that it's solely based on the "shapes and collected objects" and "complex shapes" thermos, so you'll either have to use fewer objects, or delete unnecessary vertices from, or otherwise simplify the shapes you use in that area.

Oops, my bad. I didn't actually check your link, from your description I assumed you were linking to Aya's emitter thermo cheat.
