Trophy Notification

Can we please get an option to turn those notifications off? It doesn't even tell you what trophy you got anyway. | 2010-07-21 08:31:00 Author: Syroc ![]() Posts: 3193 |
I think it's still a testing period, but anyway, I second Syroc's thoughts when the system will be fully functional. It's a nice touch but I don't find that to be so important to my forum life. | 2010-07-21 08:39:00 Author: OmegaSlayer ![]() Posts: 5112 |

with the way the points/green activity bar is jumping, it is still not quite fully implemented. I do think it is worth having, we just need to wait a couple days till it settles down a bit. @ the site web master, thanks for changing the text at the top to LBPC XP it fits in my browser now ![]() | 2010-07-21 08:48:00 Author: Strangepom ![]() Posts: 445 |
Eh, I don't rly mind it much. Its kinda helpful if you're trying to aim for a trophy. | 2010-07-21 08:53:00 Author: Enlong3 ![]() Posts: 357 |
I don't know... trophies in a forum may risk to start a bad behaviour of quantity over quality. It's quite bad that a user's life on the forums is measured with the number of posts. Aya posts very few, but he's always priceless every time he speaks. I agree about EXP, the shops and everything else, but I would erase trophies. Generally the average user is not mature enough to not start H4H-like behaviours. | 2010-07-21 09:21:00 Author: OmegaSlayer ![]() Posts: 5112 |
Yeah, not really a fan of the trophies and their notification, an option to turn it off would be great. I also agree with what OmegaSlayer said above. | 2010-07-21 10:10:00 Author: midnight_heist ![]() Posts: 2513 |
Pff, yeah i can see it now.. "P4P, post for post, you post here to boost count" D4D you post here to boost your day count, so somehow you gain the "more time a member" trophy faster (somehow) R4R so you can add refferences even tho you already registered. ![]() lol, good thing members have confidence on the admin and mods to keep things in ordeer and stop any weird activity. ![]() Oh wait no they don't... -_- Relax guys, do you really think they'd let the site go down just like that? ![]() They know what they're doing, that's why they were selected. | 2010-07-21 10:20:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
I don't mind the trophies as such, I just don't want to get a notification every morning fooling me into thinking someone actually send me a message only to find out that I got a virtual cookie. | 2010-07-21 10:27:00 Author: Syroc ![]() Posts: 3193 |
I wish the awards got fixed. As soon as I received the Gold Activity award, the site crashed on me. Or did it also happen to everyone? | 2010-07-21 11:06:00 Author: CyberSora ![]() Posts: 5551 |

I agree! I don't get a lot of messages but I love getting them and I'm always excited to see that notification. I was disappointed the other day when it was just a trophy. | 2010-07-21 11:12:00 Author: TheCountessZ ![]() Posts: 537 |
Yeah, when I see the blue notification bar I think someone finally replied... XD -_- So yeah, I would like to either be able to turn it off, or be able to see what I got... Oki/ | 2010-07-21 11:20:00 Author: Okisaan ![]() Posts: 165 |
I agree! I don't get a lot of messages but I love getting them and I'm always excited to see that notification. I was disappointed the other day when it was just a trophy. Actually, it tells you if it's a trophy or not before you click on it (but I assume you knew that). What I want changed is if: a) It actually tells you what you got. b) You can see it in the Settings button, like your reputation. | 2010-07-21 11:32:00 Author: CyberSora ![]() Posts: 5551 |
Actually, it tells you if it's a trophy or not before you click on it (but I assume you knew that). What I want changed is if: You still have to mouse over it to see it's not a message, so the initial "oh I got a message, yay! .... oh... no one loves me really" disappointment is still very much valid. Plus I think you have to click on it to clear the notification down (might be wrong on that). Still, it hardly feels like it's in the same league as the other notifications - which are communications from actual people. | 2010-07-21 11:37:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |
I also want to add Awards in there. I keep on getting awards/ removing awards all the time as I switch from bronze to silver poster... so yeah, make it so I don't get a notification every two seconds when I become bronze then silver poster? | 2010-07-21 12:43:00 Author: RockSauron ![]() Posts: 10882 |
I like these notifications every 5 minutes, it makes me feel loved for about 2 seconds until I see it's just an award/trophy. ![]() | 2010-07-21 16:14:00 Author: Doopz ![]() Posts: 5592 |
I think once everything catches up, it won't be as frequent. ...I hope! lol | 2010-07-21 16:15:00 Author: jwwphotos ![]() Posts: 11383 |
I realize that Trophy-hunting has almost become a new genre of game, and that it's probabbly here to stay, but I'm not 100% convinced that it really belongs in a forum. I hate the fact that I've caught my-self looking over to the left of a post before considering how valid the actuall point is. | 2010-07-21 18:07:00 Author: swanbrown ![]() Posts: 898 |
Why does "Awards:" appear next to ranks and titles? It can look like it's a part of a title, and do we even need that text at all? You can clearly see the awards. | 2010-07-21 19:45:00 Author: Incinerator22 ![]() Posts: 3251 |

I like seeing them there but ok, i guess the OPTION to turn them off would be ok | 2010-07-22 01:21:00 Author: Snrm ![]() Posts: 6419 |
'ello, 'ello? Any reaction from you, CC, would be nice. ![]() | 2010-07-27 13:25:00 Author: Syroc ![]() Posts: 3193 |
Ok, this is really bothering me, so I thought I might bring this up again. Can we get rid of the silver/bronze/.gold activity awards, or at least make it so it doesn't change every five seconds? Because the top three in activity keep on getting it, but it keeps on switching, so I've been switching from silver activity to bronze to normal for the past few days now. Wouldn't be affecting many people but the almost insanely active, but seeing the blue notification only to see that I've been demoted to bronze/ promoted to silver the fifth time in a day is annoying ;-; | 2010-09-09 00:36:00 Author: RockSauron ![]() Posts: 10882 |

Well, this would just help some people. Some doesn't have access to their computers all the time. But it's still annoying. I stayed off for a while to let my activity go down because of the God **** feature. | 2010-09-14 00:18:00 Author: CyberSora ![]() Posts: 5551 |
