Good levels with infinite lives?

Archive: 14 posts

I am looking for some good levels to play, but one thing I really prefer is infinite lives, but I cannot tell which levels have this. I don't want finite lives out of fear of restarting the level.

Any great medium difficulty levels with this?

Well, almost every level you see on LBP now has infinite lives (except survival challenges).

Try these:
"Dark Hospital" - great horror series. (easy-to-medium)
"Project X" - an awesome space-themed level. (easy-to-medium)
"High School" - an high school story (easy)

Yeah, you'd be hard-pressed to find a good level made recently that doesn't have an infinite life checkpoint.

That being said, some especially good ones are Ashes to Ashes 3, The Arbitrary Platformer Series, The Dragons of Myth series, and Cloudy with a Chance of Teamwork.
That last one is 2-player, but God, it's probably my favorite level ever made, ever.

Try my PLASMAVILLE level.

I'm a great fan of the infinite life checkpoint too and since it became available I use it throughout all my new levels.

I'd recpcomend just checking out the latest Spotlight. Most new levels have the infinite checkpoint, just pick one out that seems appealing to you.2010-07-21 22:16:00

Infinite life checkpoints are for friggin' squares! I always feel like I'm betraying my better instincts when I include infinite lives. I grew up on Super Mario Bros. back when you needed skills to beat a game! I say either accept defeat or try again. Yeah, start all over again from the very beginning of a level, that'll teach you not to die frivolously!

Anyhow, sorry about that... yeah, probably 80% of levels out there have infinite lives nowadays so I'm sure you won't have any problems finding one worth playing.

I remember SMB. Without cheating, I can only barely manage World 8. Thank god for secret warps and the secret "cheat" that lets you restart a world upon Game Over, rather than the beginning of the game.

I will soon try these levels, mabye write down a list.

I actually agree with this, but apparantly if people who play your level can't do it, all of a sudden it's rubbish and 1 star material. So I always try and include them, just so it doesn't damage my ratings - wierd huh?

In a game like LBP, for every brilliant level that's too hard to beat for you with limited check points there are 3 equally brilliant levels that are beatable (have infinite checkpoints). I'm guilty of this thinking, sometimes.2010-07-23 06:14:00
