There is a smiley like this Can we change the "hotkey" (As in like you can do semi colon and p for ) to just :o As it represents :o pretty good and i feel as if :o really needs a smiley

I was playing with a few options and I don't like any of them. Changing the string that a smilie is attached to is not recursive - if you change it from "" to ":o", any post containing "" will simply display "". Not an elegant solution, seeing as the text string is just there as a hook for the smilie image and as a reference when you're looking at the text in a way that doesn't support images. If we add another smilie to the list of current smilies, you will see that duplicate smilie in the list as if it were a separate entity, even though it's the same image. That's messy - not something I'd want to do. If we use what's called the Replacement Variable Manager, it would replace all instances of "" anywhere on the site, regardless of where it may be. That means that if that "anywhere" doesn't support the display of images, you get a rather messy string of HTML instead of the ":o" text we'd prefer it to display. Also messy. I can't think of any other way to do it, to be honest. Sorry guys, I don't think this was meant to be.

Would it really matter if old posts just said :Boo:, I mean they are old posts, people rarely read them and if they did, I'm sure it wouldn't be that bothersome. I tend to use ALOT, but making it :o would be pretty nifty. eh.
