Psp 3000 vs. Psp go

Archive: 16 posts

I'm going to be getting a PSP soon and I wanted to ask which psp is better? The newer psp go that has a small screen, or the psp 3000 ( comes with a bigger screen then the normal version) that has not as much space on it compared to the go.I just want other peoples views and opions. Thanks 2010-07-19 16:17:00

PSP Go is not worth losing the UMD.
PSP 3000 + large memory stick is same price as a PSP Go, but with UMD.
Or, if you want homebrew, emulators and hacks, get a PSP 2000 instead.

Go's too small for me.

I prefer the 3000.

I like my Go - only complaint is the buttons can feel a little cramped at times.2010-07-19 18:28:00

I'd go with the PSP-3000. Well, if you are planning on playing mostly at home. It's big, has UMD, and doesn't it have a camera? I've got a PSP-1000 (the mega-fat one) and it's really good. Besides the fact that it's probably 4 years old...

But just go with what fits your lifestyle..

This
Psp go i never liked, most of the games you download are so expensive and you cant hunt for deals and such, as maybe gamestop makes a buy 1 psp game get the 2nd free, if you have a go you wouldnt be able to partake in that deal

I won the Go but I would never pay what it costs - it's insanely expensive. Plus I'd much rather have the larger model which is better to hold and use. The Go has one awesome screen though. Battery lasted me around 4 hours playing a lot of ad-hoc with brightness on medium - which is plenty by the way (screen is exactly like the ipod touch).2010-07-19 19:51:00

I have a PSPGo, and I personally enjoy the hardware itself more. Much more pocket friendly, and better looking

HOWEVER, I cannot recommend it over a 3000. You can only get games off of the PSN store, which is a huge disadvantage in itself. I paid ?31.99 for Peace Walker when you can get it for about ?20 on UMD if you shop around. This is usually the case with most games, and it's seriously dissapointing. Basically, owning a PSPGo is more expensive in every way.

On the other hand, since you're UK (i assume from your GMT time) if you get a PSPGo before september the somethingk, you get 10 free games (good games at that) which may actually be worth it then. Maybe. It's one heck of a deal.

I prefer the PSPgo just because I use it as an mp3 player more than a video game system.

I used to have a PSP 1000 for the longest time and i never used it. when my 4683689th ipod died, i decided to look into other mp3 players and decided to pick up a PSPgo. For being out all the time, the go is just a million times better than the 1000-3000 because of its small portable size. I dont miss my UMD at all because I honestly dont play games on it all that much. I use my gameboy sp and my DS much more, but there are those times where i'll start playing some pixeljunk monsters or God-o-war. Also I like the idea that i can expand my memory even farther using a memory stick.

Like previously stated, its all about preference. What are you going to use it for more, and will you be out of the house often.

I would say that it really depends on what you're looking for. I really only play mostly one game all the time and thats LBP, so I don't have to worry about the "carrying tons of UMD's" problem that everyone talks about since I have 3000. I like how the Go is smaller and everything but when I use it to play games, the analog nub feels like it's in kind of an awkward position to me.

But that's just what I think.

I had the same choice last christmas, and you definately need to go with the psp 3000. The psp go may be smaller and coolor looking, but it's not worth losing the UMD!! No doubt get a PSP 3000!!!!2010-07-20 04:00:00
