Microphone usage in LBP
Archive: 13 posts
Right I've seen people using microphones to chat in Little Big Planet. I've got a headset which has the classive green and pink plug ports for computers. Can I use that or do I need to fork out for an "official" PS3 headset? If I can use my own headset, could someone throw me a frikkin bone here? It doesn't need to be official, but it would have to be either USB or Bluetooth. | 2010-07-19 12:20:00 Author: Kiminski Posts: 545 |
Okay, thanks for the tip! | 2010-07-19 12:26:00 Author: The Gentleman Posts: 360 |
You can also use non-headset USB mics (like the Singstar ones) if you're really desperate, but then you have to use the TV audio to hear the other players and it's never as clear as a headset. But it's an option if your PC ones aren't compatible.. and you have Singstar... | 2010-07-19 12:50:00 Author: BabyDoll1970 Posts: 1567 |
Lucky I do, at least I hope I still do... | 2010-07-19 21:19:00 Author: The Gentleman Posts: 360 |
What if I got one of those nice USB studio recording quality microphones? I wonder if that would make online voice chat any clearer. | 2010-07-20 03:10:00 Author: Enlong3 Posts: 357 |
It might. You can also get a usb adapter for a headset that uses a stereo plug. | 2010-07-20 17:20:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
May I add in, how much is a good one? I spend ?12.99 on one recently (it hasn't been delivered), will this be any good? | 2010-07-20 17:38:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
It's hard to say without knowing the brand and type. Maybe you got a bargain, maybe you just got a very basic headset. | 2010-07-20 17:41:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
It should be fine Kirbyman. The audio is so compressed that the quality of the mic doesn't play a big role. | 2010-07-20 17:41:00 Author: RoharDragontamer Posts: 397 |

Well, people can't really know by price, maybe at least say the brand/ name, style (bluetooth or USB) or is it new/ used, something to identify it at all? I mean, can't help you if you don't give out any details dude, may be a really good cheap one or a really bad one, all depends on the conditions, not the pricing. "How much is a good one?" Again, its not as much as the price, but kinda the one you've researched works best, remember, just because something costs a lot doesn't mean its good. Prime example, Wii Music is $60 while God of War III is like $40. | 2010-07-20 17:42:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

I had a usb one I picked up for about $15 and people I played with complained that I was hard to understand. I use a bluetooth one now and it works better. | 2010-07-21 00:33:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
I got a very reliable Samsung bluetooth headset for $30 @ RadioShack. It's a little tight on my ear, but I have huge ears so I think that's my fault. | 2010-07-21 22:14:00 Author: Malahk Angel Posts: 59 |
