Of Textures

Here's a thing I'd like to have: Being Able to move and rescale (perhaps even skew) texture patterns on objects. I guess the visual chaps would like it. Rescaling would help create depth, moving just because rescaling is there ( ) and it's "useful", skew is there because the other ones are and trippy patterns could be made. i can dig it. | 2010-07-18 15:54:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
You should check out the thread on LBP2's new features. I think I read about a 'UV tool' that allows this to happen. I'll go check... EDIT: Ah, yes, is this what you mean? Originally posted by rtm223 •UV tool (possible placeholder name) - allows you to rotate and shift the texture on a material. UV tool offers a subset of this functionality. Basically you can translate and rotate the textures - which is a massive bonus if (like me) you've spent ages making negatives and cookie cutters just so you can line up the edges of your material with the texture. However, the UV tool, in the form I saw it, will not allow for resizing, scaling or skewwing. All of which sound pretty nice features to me Certainly would be good to see some extensions to the UV tool... | 2010-07-18 16:15:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Like making the brick material from PotC pack smaller? That would be awesome. | 2010-07-18 16:20:00 Author: AbstractFlesh Posts: 837 |
That I would love, it's a brilliant material but I never use it because the blocks are just too big!! | 2010-07-18 16:25:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |
I heard you can already rotate the textures. | 2010-07-18 19:41:00 Author: TehUberZac Posts: 587 |
Yeah, you technically can, but only if you rotate the object. Now you can rotate the texture itself. This is an awesome feature! And resizing would be really really nice. | 2010-07-19 05:10:00 Author: Moony Posts: 368 |
Thought you would like it I hate texturing through stickers. The UV tool isn't a wholly great name for the tool BTW | 2010-07-19 09:18:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah, it seems like they've hit a wall while naming the new tools. "Vacuum material" instead of "Holographic Material" "UV Tool" instead of "Texture Editor Tool" Although the game still has quite a ways until release, so you never know, it might change. | 2010-07-19 21:39:00 Author: Moony Posts: 368 |
Funny, I thought getting thanked by rtm223 boosts your Green Notch Bar by 10. | 2010-07-28 20:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
