Well it's actually a close tie between Haunting Ground and D2. (I don't tend to play horror games as I find them boring normally). I only play horror games if they have interesting story or gameplay. Now I'm just now playing haunting ground which has VERY interesting (and gross) gameplay. D2 well... story and a lot of Dreamcast memories. So I can't really decide. (I have heard the Clock Tower series (a LOT like haunting ground but different story so they didnt make it Clock Tower 5) is pretty scary. Okay actually I heard the first ones scary and the others were failures. Post what horror game is your favorite | 2010-07-18 09:04:00 Author: koltonaugust Posts: 1382 |

Condemned 1. So much fun, me and my neighbor played it from 11:00pm to 6:00am on a night with a ton of thunder and lightning | 2010-07-18 09:10:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
Surprised that resident evil isnt here yet! Never played it though. | 2010-07-18 09:18:00 Author: koltonaugust Posts: 1382 |
Favorite horror game huh? Well, I loved Resident Evil Nemesis the most out of all the series. The whole concept of a monster that could pop up at any moment without warning and start chasing you was brilliant. Plus the Mercenaries minigame was addictive and fun. But, if I must name my favorite, then we have to go back in time. Back to a time when dinosaurs... no wait, I mean when Super Nintendos roamed the Earth. The father of the 3D survival horror genre, whose main character looked like my old French teacher! Silent Hill 2 (or 3, can't remember). Awesome game and scared me to hell. Really messed with my mind. Good stuff. | 2010-07-18 19:31:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
Clocktower 3. Never actually played it, but I watched a video of it online and this one guy with a hammer goes hard on a 12 year old. With a giant hammer I believe. | 2010-07-18 20:09:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
Bioshock. Or FEAR 2. I played the demo to FEAR 2 and found it quite pleasing. I do not get scared though. I am under the age limit (which means my parents have to buy the games) but the only thing I get is just a kick from playing. | 2010-07-18 20:21:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |

Nobody's mentioned Eternal Darkness? | 2010-07-20 04:04:00 Author: koneko Posts: 95 |
You know.. .I have only played one horror game to completion (Resident Evil 2) ... I'm not sure why. I remember buying Clock Tower 2 when it came out for PS1, I had just gotten it from a fresh shipment delivery to the store. I don't know what happened to it... Oh no wait, I also beat Alone in the Dark 2. Very odd game. Hmm... Does the Hugo series count as horror? It's kind of a silly horror If Bioshock is a horror game then I completed that as well. Meh. I suck. I can't really decided. I think I'll stick to the first few REs since that was my first main exposure to survival / horror. I DID play Alone in the Dark when it came out but I hated it to be honest. | 2010-07-20 04:09:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |
Definitely Eternal Darkness. Honorable mentions to Alan Wake, Dead Space, and just about every Silent Hill, | 2010-07-20 04:30:00 Author: mr Radical 5601 Posts: 515 |
I only played silent hill 3 and I have to say I didn't really like it. I thought it was a total letdown. | 2010-07-20 06:23:00 Author: koltonaugust Posts: 1382 |
Surprised that resident evil isnt here yet! Never played it though. Resident Evil (IMO) Isnt a horror game :| it's more like a Pop Up zombie shooter action gamez1!.... Silent Hill 1-3. <3 | 2010-07-20 21:00:00 Author: Unknown User |
Why do all of you like Silent Hill 3? Did I miss something from the other series that makes the game much more fun? | 2010-07-21 03:27:00 Author: koltonaugust Posts: 1382 |
I don't get why people don't think Dead Space isn't scary. I mean, sure, it might have the atmosphere of a game like Fatal Frame, (which I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet, I played the 2nd one and it was crazy!) but I still thought it was scary. I approached every tight corner with a lot of hesitation and tried to decapitate every dead body I saw just to make sure it wouldn't be eaten by one of those bat monsters and barfed out as an alien. Sure, it loses some of its scariness once you upgrade the Plasma Cutter all the way and you're like an armored super soldier by the end of it, but I still thought it was scary. Not very sophisticated but it gets the job done. | 2010-07-21 07:23:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
Yeah a lot of scary games tend to get well less scary towards the end, sometimes making the game boring. | 2010-07-21 16:38:00 Author: koltonaugust Posts: 1382 |
