I've recently picked up a new acoustic guitar! Hooray. Now I'm completely bored and open up to some song suggestions! Anything that has a nice melody to it will do . Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Yesterday by The Beatles, which I just learned last night. EDIT : Something with a nice calming and smooth melody to it. Not like "Calm...calm.... RAAAHHHHH DESTRUCTION, CHAOS, AND LBP2 COMING OUT SOON!!!" 'Ya know?

Most people I know that play guitar learned Stairway to heaven first, and I think it's a pretty awesome song...so yeah, that's the suggestion

If you're playing on an acoustic, I suggest playing some nice, simple songs with easy chord structures to them. They sound really nice! A great example would be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TPXRvwcTsg I know you Americans aren't sure about Oasis, but this truly is a great song.

Yeah but the acoustic bit is PURE AWESOMESAUCE. I would happily just spend 7 minutes and 28 seconds playing that over and over! But if you're looking for a good song, Stairway to Heaven is a good idea.

If it were me I'd go for something by Mark Knopfler ( Dire Straits ). I can't play guitar at all but if I could it would be my dream come true if I could play anywhere near as good as him. Some of his stuff is perfect calm,relaxing, chill out music too.
