Design-A-Sackboy Art Contest
Create a fantastic costume for Sackboy to wear; a costume based a character or design of your own, made up completely by you. Draw it!
Entries must be drawings or another form of art, and can be created digitally or traditionally.


RULES


- The picture must be a Sackboy, with a costume of the character being depicted.
- You can submit as many entries as you wish.
- The character or design can be whatever or whoever you want, as long as it's your own original creation and made up completely by you. It could be a fire-breathing turtle costume, a costume of a character you've created in LittleBIGPlanet, or an abstract costume.
- You may have a fan/franchise-based entry, as long as you have another entry that is an original character, though the original character entry will count for the majority of the points.
- Everything must be drawn by you, bases are not allowed.
- If you have any questions, post here on the official thread or on TheZimInvader's Profile.
- Have fun!


JUDGING
Entries will not be judged on how good your drawing is, but rather on Creativity, Originality, and Effort.

PRIZES

1st Place: A drawing of three Sackboys of their choice, all colored and shaded. +1000 EXP
2nd Place: A drawing of two Sackboys of their choice, colored and shaded. +500 EXP
3rd Place: A drawing of one Sackboy of their choice, colored(no shading/background)and a forum avatar. +250 EXP

In addition to the top three winners, there will be seven honorable mentions (top ten altogether). Honorable mention winners will receive 50exp each. All participants will receive a small secret prize that will be announced at the end of the contest.

It doesn't definitively say Sackperson anywhere, and a fire-breathing turtle doesn't have to do with a sackperson.

I saw it with my own two eyes, the li'l sackboy dude had one of those stringy things... yeah, a guitar around 'is neck and 'e was walkin' 'ome;
anyway, this big pear thing just jumped on 'im and 'e got absooded, no wait, absorbed, thats it. So anyway, the pear opened its eyes, and ran off to the nearest rock-concert, with sackboys hands (stuck in the rock-on postition) comin' out the sides. It turns out that that pear had escaped from a near-by classical music store run by a crazy scientist, and the pear was so sick of listenin' to that classic stuff that 'e ran away. Sackboys guitar? Well uhh... I gotta leave now... see ya /runs

These are characters i made for a new series i want to do in littlebigplanet2

The basic story between these two is:
Emily is a vegetarian who is helping save the world from an evil polluting monster and along the way finds G.O.B, who was an evil robot made to help spread pollution.
But he broke and the monster got rid of him. Emily finds him and rebuilds him into a robot that is 100% green and he then helps her fight this monster.
Wow that was really hard to write without explain the whole plot lol

More About Them

Emily: The flower in her hair she has had since she was a kid.
Her hair is naturally green lol go figure

G.O.B: He was orginally painted red by the monster but painted green when Emily found him, but you can still she some red because some of the paint chipped off his head.

I'm sorry if you guys think it's unfair, I just thought I had typed out the rules clearly enough, providing that I took over an hour to think it out. I wanted it to be different from any other costume contest, so I made it original characters only. Most of the other entrants have done an original character and made up the story and stuff. What can I do, then, to make it fair for you and everybody else?


Can the sackboy be of an already famous character?

No, it has to be a character of your own. If you've got a name and such for your Sackboy in LBP, then that counts as a character. Or you can make a regular character, then a Sackboy costume/rendition of that character.		2010-07-18 21:21:00

Judge Claude Frollo

As Supreme Judge of Paris, Frollo wanted to purge the world of sin. He accused a group of LittleBigPlanet's greatest creators of witchcraft, for there was no other explaination for their amazing machinery and innovative designs. He and his minions would "take care" of these gypsies one by one, but to no avail. Somehow, they were able to thrive. It is told that the gypsies have a sanctuary; a safe haven of some sort, where they exchange their ideas and strategies, giving birth to great numbers of their kind.

But, Frollo felt lust towards Esmerelda, one the foul demons, while attending the "Carnival of Creators", causing great controversy in the judge's mind. When she escaped, Claude Frollo had driven himself to insanity, causing blind massacres all over France. All of Paris was on fire.

Frollo eventually captured Esmerelda, but when she refused to be with him, he attempted to smite her, in Notre Dame herself. He failed, and lost his grip. He fell into the fiery depths that he thought were meant for Esmerelda, when he had really been feeding his own Hellfire.

Probably the cutest villain you will ever come across, Judge Claude Frollo was somewhat of a challenge to make. What with his old appearance, and the fact that I still had to give him that "Sack-Person cuteness". I started out by sketching the shape of the head, and just winged it. What you see pictured here is actually the second attempt. The first was, I think, quite awful, and it didn't resemble a sackperson in the slightest.

After being caught in an explosion during war Radament, formerly known as Jack, was captured by a team of crazed scientists. The scientists practically cheated death and brought Jack back to life. Having lost most of his body from the neck down the scientists replaced his muscle tissue with aterficial muscle and a hard protective skin. A person wasn't designed to be subjected to such treatment. Jack started to change, he wasn't the person who he used to be. Filled with anger and rage the evil started to grow inside of him. Eventually becoming so strong and dense it began to show through the little skin he had left. Leaving him as pale as a ghost with thick dark veins coursing through him and a single blood red eye.

In the long lost village of ctabar, the people were teriifired, a beast was attacking the town. It had a thousand eyes and tongues like daggers, all hope was lost. Then as the battle started to escalate, the village was on fire and all of the people were surely going to be eaten; then suddenely a grand mage appeared, master of the sun. For giving the idea for effort:
I spent about two hours drawing and tracing (the coloured drawing is a trace).
The tracing was a pain, as I had to do it on the window -_-
Then I spent another half an hour colouring the drawing, in wich I suck...

This little Sackboy wanted to be a pilot his whole life. Now he has his own little plane, and flies all around the world. His last client was Plasmavore.

That's it, I hope you like it. I'm going on a three week vacation so I can't check this thread for three weeks...

I started work on this immediately after I made the Rubber Duck Suit. Sadly, I was gone for the weekend so I wasn't able to finish it before Okisaan got his up (which is ironically the same theme as mine). They don't look alike, so I think it's ok... (correct me if I'm wrong. O_o)

The moustache, side burns and "curly-Q" on his forehead would be part of a skin, much like the Hero costume from the Rag Doll pack. The wind sock would swing around like the Chinese lanterns, moving more as the arm swings. The biplane's propeller would spin, spinning faster as you run. The long scarf would be ridiculously long, dragging across the floor (much like the Druid beard) and dangling off things.

Now, I really don't care if this thing gets judged or not. I just had to get this out into the public before it started rotting away in my pictures folder... 		2010-07-27 06:39:00

My 2nd and probably last entry,Goldfish sack!
His sackboy DNA and a goldfish's DNA were mixed together to make goldfish sack.He needs a waterbowl on his head to live.

Yes, but you can't judge your own entry, of course. You have to be a fair person and not favor somebody over somebody else just because they're your friend or something. All of the judges must consult each other so we can all decide on the winners.		2010-07-28 08:25:00

Create a fantastic costume for Sackboy to wear; a costume based a character or design of your own, made up completely by you. Draw it!
Entries must be drawings or another form of art, and can be created digitally or traditionally.

The idea originial of the suit was that the sleigh-bells were sounding, but since it is not anything that one sees in Sack inside the game since i preferred not mentioning it since it would be marvellous that with this costume that i designed had this bonus inside the same one.

"Fish Bowl"

Description: The Fish bowl costume is a costume I really hope comes to LBP2, essentially you have a big glass fish bowl on your head full of [REAL!] water. Inside the water there is a little goldfish that circles around your sackboy's head. If the fish bowl is shaken or if sackboy tilts his head, the water will spill out and the little fishy will sink to the bottom and flop around. If you go into water with an empty fish bowl, it will refill itself, it will also refill if you reset/change/exit levels. The feed is just a little hand decoration.

And no, sackboy can't drown inside.

How I made it:

First I drew out the basic shapes then smoothed them. Then I added the Text and researched Chinese symbols, to find nice looking ones that spelt 'Summer Moon'. Then I scanned it in to the computer and went over every line, then filled in and coloured it.

Description:

Sky Lanterns are let off into the night sky in some places in the world, and are left to float away in the sky. With all these costume pieces on, sackboy will be able to achieve a higher, floating jump, and a slower, longer descent. This allows sackboy to scale wide gaps and perilous crevices. When sackboy walks, he floats at a constant height above the ground, with his paper ribbons trailing behind him. The flame also flickers and illuminates even the darkest of places.

well the points system seems to confuse me...so rating each one based on points would confuse me a bit...which is why i just wanted to give you a list of my top ten and then we would just compare

like i said before the points system confuses me and if we're combining our points together to make one big score then it's going to be unfair since me not knowing what to do with the points could end up messing up the REAL results when i coulda just made a list of my faves in order from best to decent and just combine our lists together and make a result		2010-08-02 04:51:00

Tell me how that would work, then, if the system calls for adding up all the points for each entry and ordering them from the entries with the greatest to least amount of points. If your decision has no points involved, then what? I suppose you could give me a detailed description on your opinion and I could do the points part for you.
