The octopus is real. The predictions are more than likely either a stroke of luck or a pure coincidence. It's an amazing and impressive stroke of luck/coincidence though, I'll give it that.

Or he just likes yellow and red. octopi are color blind, but perhaps he appreciates their existence all the same? anyone ever think it possible that he is just very well-read in soccer news and knows the right predictions? no? or maybe... he's not predicting, it but making it happen! paul is not the all-knowing octopus but the omnipotent octopus!

I think its just a hungry octopus that is picky on which container of food he wants >:U like when i put 4 different dog biscuits on my hand and let my dog choose, I dont code the four biscuits to see if the dogs psychic, it just chooses what it wants.

I think he's the real deal. I once got a message on my phone, this is it: Dear (my name) Stop eating that dish, or you ain't gonna get anything tomorrow... Nor the rest of your life! Love, Paul I happened to eat some fried octopus, along with shrimp and etc. which was quite delicious. I gave the rest to my little brother. Nothing has happened to him yet... Sigh. Just kidding (about the little brother part, not the text message)

Umm I don't even get what could be fake about it? They showed what the octopus picked before the games and that happened to be right every time. Could you explain what part you don't think is believable about it?

Well, the fact that an octopus can predict the future - that's what's unbelievable about it! I think it's all just a big co-incidence, it didn't get it right every time did it? And if it could predict the future, it would see that Rock will take over the world and destroy all sea life. Making the end result of a football game slightly unimportant.

I just read news that a Russian bookmaking company offered 100'000 euros to purchase the octopus! :eek: I think I might have to start collecting local animals to train them to make predictions on important sporting events.
