I disagree. What emotions does it conjure in your mind, exactly? Half the time it doesn't even have lyrics, which are the easiest way to stir up emotions. And i don't think a loud electronic beat is the most effective way to portray sadness, joy, anger, or anything else....

Edit: Also, should be in general media. Also, already threads on this.

I like:
Pop- Not the Katy Perry stuff! I'm talking Parachute and Maroon 5.
Modern Rock- All-American Rejects, Relient K, others that I can't think of...
A select bit of Hip-Hop/Rap- Wale, The-Dream, and Kid Cudi are about it for rap.

Yeah but trance isn't just loud electronic sounds. Oh and a lot of trance a has lyrics. If you look up trance of the Internet it will tell you it changes emotions very quickly. So one minute your happy, the next, your sad. Look it up on Wikipedia.

I'm a bit partial to electronic music myself... but we purveyors of fine ear candy tend to be... well, criticized all too often (yes it IS 'music' - music is organized noise) Lyrics or not, music takes on many delicious forms 2010-07-20 18:45:00

If you rode the trains in NY with your Sony Sportman then you know what I mean.

I do a bit of remixin and a lil bit of bass-music myself. Check it out here. (http://www.scratchlayout.com/p/music.html)

Alex, try listening to Trentemoller - Miss You (Original Mix) and even though is has no lyrics, tell me is not a sad song

Javi, you've been here for what, a year now? Surely you must have picked up on my stance on music...

I can preempt that 'Fiction' will be the most emotional song for me this year...
