What Are BBCode Tags?

Tags are used to do a variety of different things...

Like quote something someone has said..

Bob dies.

Pro tip: Use Ctrl + F to find what you're look for! (Or your browser/system's equivalent)

Fonts:

Fonts are fairly obvious, you can use them to write in different fonts, a warning though, some fonts are very hard to read when small, so if you use fonts in your post, make sure to click "Preview Post" and check it's readable.

Sizes:

Sizes are another pretty obvious one, in fact, you should have seen lots of examples above where I have used different text sizes.

Sizes allow you to make things BIG or small.

Color

NB: BBCode is written in American English and therefore color tags must be spelled without the "u".

Color can be useful when making a color coded key or just to add more of a variety to your posts, it's also used by many people to hide something without using spoilers, just make your text white.

When using the you can also use hexadecimal color codes. Here's a few examples of hexadecimal color codes:

#75959C

#36A862

Those are just two examples I picked out at random, but unless you're some kind of super computer, you won't remember all of the hexadecimal color codes for all of the colors.

Use this site to choose whatever color you want:

Simply find the color you're looking for, and once you've found it copy the code at the top and paste it into the the color tags like so:

Ever wanted to make gradients in your text? Use Tektek.org/color to do so, but a warning, it uses a LOT of BBCode.

Smilies are brilliant for showing emotions within posts or showing sarcasm, seeing as you can't see the person posting.

Using bold, italic and underline tags are incredibly useful for making a certain word or sentence stand out from the rest, or for making titles.

Strikeout has absolutely no lots of uses.

Alignment allows you to align your text to either left, center, or right.

Hyperlinks are used for adding a link to any website you want, when someone clicks it, they'll be take right to the website you linked them to.

Adding color to hyperlinks is widely unknown by many people, I'll admit, I only found out recently.

To add color you'll need to put the color tags inside the hyperlink tags like so:

Direct quoting is actually much easier and better than copying and pasting in between quote tags, it adds the post number to the quote, so if you press the http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/buttons/viewpost-right.png button it will take you to the post the quote is linked to. Marvellous.

To do this, simply press http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/buttons/quote_40b.png Reply With Quote beneath the post you wish to quote. It's also possible to quote multiple posts at a time, just click http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/buttons/multiquote-back_40b.png underneath every post your need to quote, then click http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/buttons/reply_40b.png Reply.

Recall Tags

Recall tags were originally made and used for the Community Game Jam 2010 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=28709-Community-Game-Jam-2010). However, that doesn't mean we can't use them.

Recall tags are very similar to quotes except they will automatically add "...recalls [Name]" at the bottom right.

Code

Code tags are brilliant for one reason, they allow you to make as many spaces as you desire (as long as you keep within the post character limit) without it erasing any of them like it does when writing without them, for that reason they're brilliant for making epic drawings.

Sometimes it can be hard to discuss games, movies or books without giving away the ending. So that's why spoiler tags were born! Hoorah!

Unfortunately VBulletin won't let me wrap the following in spoiler tags, how odd:

Rawcode:

Rawcode is probably one of the least known BBCode tags. Rawcode stops all BBCode inside it from working, which is why I've used it tons of times in this thread already.

Instead of saying, for example,

"Paste this in your signature without the '*':

You can simply say,

"Paste this in your signature:

Since you didn't have recall tags mentioned, I don't think you saw this (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode). It's very clear and straight-to-the point so if you want your guide to be better than it than you should be as comprehensive as possible. I also think the spoiler tags and different text sizes for each font are unnecessary.

Sorry, I did think about PS3 users, however the majority of users will be using a better browser that can handle spoilers, if I hadn't have put them in, that post would be horribly long (just try quoting) and hard to actually find what you want, so sorry.

They are, however as robotiod said, not all of them are there, expecially in the quick reply box where there's very few, if everyone got used to just knowing these off by heart it makes replying to threads 10X quicker.

And I know some were kind of pointless to make a guide on (Like bold, underlining, italics and color) seeing as they do show up in the quick reply box, I just didn't want to leave them out because it would make it feel unfinished without them.

when usong the Code, in the ''ThisIsAColor'', place the Hexadecimal (color code used for webs, like ''#FFFFFF'&apos

we can make completely hided messages:
