LittleBigFortress 2 (An LBPCentral Collaberation Project!)

Any of you fans of the hugely popular online fps, Team Fortress 2? If so, this project is for you!

LittleBigFortress 2 is a third-person sidescrolling shooter being built specifically for LittleBigPlanet 2.

There will be a series of Adventure Levels that takes each class through a series of intense combat areas and class-specific puzzles in order to stop the Blu Team from launching a Nuclear weapon that could destroy all of Australia! Saxton Hale will help you on your journey.

As you progress through the story, you will unlock new multiplayer maps and modes.
-Deathmatch- Whichever team gets the most kills in a set number of time wins.
-Control Point- The team holding the most control points in a set time wins.
-Payload- One team tries to push a bomb cart to the opposite team's base in a set number of time.

Onto the classes.
In the Adventure, there will be one level designated to each class. In 2 vs. 2 multiplayer, there will be a menu that pops up before you spawn prompting you to pick a class. It will then force the player into a Controllinator and emit the corresponding Sackbot class into the map.

-Scout- Runs faster than any class. Has very little health. Can only equip a Paintinator.
-Engineer- Normal health and speed. Can place Sentry Guns which track the opposite team and shoot paintballs. He can also place simple Sackbots that relentlessly attack the opposite team no matter what. Very easy to kill.
-Heavy Weapons Guy- Walks slower than any class. Has a ton of health. Has the ability to emit paintballs much like a machine gun.
-Soldier- Walks slow and has quite a bit of health. Can emit explosive rockets, but has a cool-down time.
-Medic- Normal health and speed. Can throw down a Health Grenade that gives health to a small area.
-Demoman- Normal health and speed. Can throw timed explosives and Sticky-Grenades that explode when you press R2.
-Spy- Normal health and speed. Not sure what kind of powers he'd have yet, but he could probably look like an enemy for a short period of time.
-Sniper- Normal health and speed. Camera zooms out for him a lot. Can shoot a fast projectile that is a one-hit-kill if it makes contact with an enemy.
-Pyro- Normal health and speed. Shoots fire bullets.

I'd really like this project to be successful, as I think it's something that can be done easily with the power of LBP2.

I think this is a great idea, but i think the story mode wont really work out.
The Multiplayer modes would be a great thing to add in since (i think) players get separate HUDs now.

I don't see why a story mode wouldn't work. I think it'd be fun to focus on the goofy lore behind TF2 and throw in some unique, class-based gameplay.2010-07-16 00:00:00

I never thought of it that way.

Oh hell yes. So you're going for the whole Gang Garrison side-scrolling approach? Because that would be easy and make the most sense. I believe that if this is going to be faithful to the original, you need to change the classes a little.

-Scout jumps higher. Equip invisible creatinator that emulates the scattergun.
-Engie seems fine.
-Heavy needs a sandvich. No exceptions.
-Soldier seems fine.
-I recommend that the medic be given a syringe gun that heals your ally but hurts enemies.
-Demoman seems fine.
-Spy has same health as scout. needs backstab ability and cloak. I believe you could map a button to emitting a filter over him, and triggering something that makes him undetectable to AI.
-Sniper is fine.
-Pyro has slightly less health than the soldier and runs at the same speed as a spy. He really needs a flamethrower that is very stong, but has a short range.

However, four players does not a good game make. I suggest we program bots if possible.

Saxton Hale must be the final boss. No exceptions!

Aww and for a second I thought this was going to be an ambitious attempt at a Dwarf Fortress clone. :/ It certainly sounds like a lot of fun, though! I really like the idea of player classes in LBP.

@Arkei: I like the way you think!
Yeah obviously some of the classes are going to be tweaked when we see what the game can actually do.
And for programming bots, they would have to be basic classes like Scout, Heavy, Soldier, Pyro, Medic, etc. because I think being an engie or a spy would take a little bit of human brainpower.
Also, I'm not sure if melee attacks are possible but I reeeeaaallly hope so.
