Hey all this is my first level for a while and it's a simple platformer. It's been about a week in the making and to be honest I wasn't going to publish it until someone kept pestering me... thank you mugsie... Cubeworld is a wonderful place were everything is made of yummy regular polygons. In this adventure you get to explore the stormy skyway ruins, a lost temple at the heart of a raging tempest. There's little objective other than reaching the other end, but you'll be sure to face your share of challenges getting there! While exploring also be on the look out for chests filled with ancient loot. A simple tap of R1 will crack them open like a kinder egg and inside you'll find your toy. Anyway, little to say about this - So here's some pictures! Just played your level and liked it a lot. The visual style works really well (the green + gold) and I'm a sucker for block-puzzels. Really liked the stickplatforms. The puzzles are simple yet entertaining. The forward moving checkpoints keep the more difficult platforming sections from getting frustrating. The whole storm theme is well implemented, with the lightning, the wind obstacles. Everything (The collapsing islands, the way you shoot up from island to island) adds to the atmosphere. One possible glitch: the puzzle where you blow the block over the spikes, the block can get quite stuck on a angle, against the container. Cool level! This level was pretty good on how you mixed the dissolve material with the other material, it got me at first because I thought you was going to use it in a bad way but yet you made it look pretty well. Wow, great level. Loved: EQ effects, treasure chests, the brown/wooden ledges, crumbling stuff + visuals. Looked like a whole different game. The only thing I would try to fix, is that you can get some bubbles by standing to the side of the chest without opening it. 5 stars + heart from me. However, I was unable to finish for some reason. After I reached the area where the storm hits and the structure is on fire, I made it to some spinning wheels, but happened to miss the timing of the transition and fell. When I went in for a second try, there was no way for me to reach the wheel again... I want to finish this one...its good fun...so let me know if I did something wrong or if you fixed it! Shawn Hmm when the section before the flaming windmills falls it *should* activate the next checkpoint - I'll run some tests and see what I can come up with. Took a look and found the problem. Stupid mistake I know, sorry everyone! Update notes: * Took another look at the camera at the start, should be fine now * Lowered the difficulty of the first chest jump * Improved the first windmill section with cameras * Hopefully stopped people flying to their deaths at the end of that * Improved the second cannon to stop it splatting you against the ceiling. * Fixed the checkpoints on the collapsing sections. No longer should they collaspe with you on them - Nor will they leave you behind! * added some more sounds towards the end. Is 9 sound effects per section too many? Who knows * Increased the speed of the final wind section. A lot less waiting now. * Fixed that stupid check point in the final section - I will no longer kill you 12 times before it changes >< * Changed the ending a little - It's not going to drastically change your experience, but it's a lot prettier now! Hey man I just played your level and let me tell you it was incredible the was you use the materia you knew the gold materia and the dissolve materia was a good combination. The visual was really impressive and the gameplay/puzzle was magnificent I love the way you created you own switch and everytime you put the cube the camera move very quick. But there is a big problem with the level you see the part of the level wend everything is breaking down and there are 4 wheel that are spring but 2 of the sponges are on fire, once you grab the second wheel the first one destroyed itself and then if I die I can't continue because of that . Overall score. Great level Mrgenji. The visuals are cube-y in a great way and the gameplay is unbelievable. The wind blowing obstacles are great and the lightning effect is a blast. My only complain is that the spinning wheels at the beginning where you hang on to one of the fans is going too fast and I kept on unexpectedly get squished by collapsed materials. This was a pretty intense level. It felt like the one player version of Cloudy with a Chance of Teamwork. I loved how you integrated the dissolve and made it something I liked looking at. Now, my only complaint is that when you're running from the gas as your Cube Island is sinking, it's very annoying to spawn inside a cube, as most of the time I tend to come out jumping and ready, but this does not work well with a cube. Also, I believe there was a part where you pushed a button and the dragon blew a cube across pits of spikes? Is that what was supposed to happen? Because it didn't for me and I ended up just tugging it across and never had to use that button for anything because it didn't SEEM to do anything. Definite 5 stars. Thanks both. I'm not sure what happened with the wind machine for you valgee - I'll see if I can recreate it. As for the cube - Yeah its not ideal. When I make these sorts of levels I'm always conflicted with the elements that are naturally round. Stupid curved game. Likes: Amazing use of sound and light. Amazing action sequences with great sound effects. Lightning was very cool The theme is wicked cool, reminds me of 3d dot game heroes. Suggestions: I got killed by the rising smoke and then killed over and over as i spawned back into it until I was eventually under the smoke following it up. Not sure how to fix this. And I saw your logic switches rising up on the right. And i cant up top now cuz the chain pulls me up into the smoke. Had a little trouble at the rising smoke part as mentoned before but aside from that I still think this level deserves: :star::star::star::star:<3. Fixed...gah, Will the bugs never stop It's up to you if you want to give it another whirl, I should warn you that you were practically at the end though. a lot of people have mentioned 3d dot game heroes. Which is good - It's what inspired me to start the project again. I had several of these levels rotting on my moon and playing that game really put me in the mood to finish them (So hint: More coming) The original idea came from a joint level I did with a similar theme, it's was more a test than anything else - But I think it came out quite nice. Check out Cube_adventure @thealp if you want to see it. Its a hell of a lot more retro than this, with a good old fashioned boss fight (It even has health hearts!). mr. genji you're here to? haha! well i quess i've to make another rewiew then ;] (this is same rewiew as in lbn) well this level sure was something special! bit laggy when i first played it though but it must've been the bad connection. love the theme!
