The legend of Ash ( Working Title )

Archive: 9 posts

As you have probably guess by the tilt this going to be like The legend of zelda.

The story starts off in the modern times but then goes to medival times ( were most of the game takes place ). The modern day part just The main characters last day at school and 2 days after that, which will act as a tutorial to the controls and game mechanics

i really need more info of the level link badge to really get things going but im go to have a password systerm in place so you can return to the game at anytime put in the password and the game resets to were you left off. E.g you complete the first dungeon and you get a password That sets the world/field map back to that point.

i will put in a item selection screen

The name Ash is reference to my favourite band Ash ( there will be little references throughout the game as well as characters named after the band members )

Im unsure if i'll used the voice overs

I'll post pictures of the mock up logo i have do in lbp1

I did try to do this in lbp1 but was unable to

To me it sounds great! Hope it works out with the level linking, everything of this sounds awesome!

Will you do something like, the place where you start and end will be a giant map, so you can choose where to go, and then come back when you are finished? If there are switches that go between levels, you could make map parts emit when you are finished with the part or something like that. Then I also hope the switches still work when you go on and off...

Well, I am just musing, good luck when or if you start!

yeah its going to be set out like zelda: do some stuff on the field map - - dungeon ----- some stuff on the field map - - dungeon again , etc

the level link badges will be for the dungeons linking from the field map to the dungeon then from the dungeon back to field map, then put in a password you got when you did dungeon 1 and the field map resets ready for you to continue the story and find dungeon 2

or come back the day after load up the field map level input the password and continue from there.

as you can see its very ambitious but i belive its do able.

Dont put to much into your ideas... trust me, its a bad idea. me and my friends from school decieded we would build a game from scratch(not LBP Realted) but it failed because we went into to much detail with the design, and found we lacked the skills and the program to do exactly what we wanted.. Start with a basic formula then add all the extra features (passwords, item selection screen, etc) Dont take this as Crazyape is crushing my dreams (though i probly am) take it as a word of advice. you dont want to get to a point where you have all this story and blah blah but no level lol, take it one step at a time. you have a good idea add me i might help you2010-07-14 06:12:00
