The Malbora's Windmill V1.3Valmassoi
In a parallel world creatures known as the "its" lose the ability to generate or purify their water. It seems their windmill is broken. But who or what would break it? Part 1 of 2.
So I started this series a while ago, and I think it came out pretty well. The second (last) part in the series is available here. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=30807-The-Malbora-s-Volcano-V1.4) I'd really like to have some feedback! Pictures below.

-Searching for it...
-Downloading it...
-About to play...
-So far I'm lking the visuals...
-Nice mushroom cutouts...
-Pretty cool trees and bridge...
-Hahahaha that It looks hilarious...
-The well isn't glued down, it wobbles, not too much of a problem...
-The It world looks pretty cool, the back wall could use some decoration...
-Windmill is awesome...
-Oh dang, I thought it was over, good...
-o i c wut u did thar with the dissolving door...
-The under-the-windmill place is nice...
-Nice little add on there...
-Woak this maze-ish section is really cool...
-It's really hard to get up to the top...
-What's the point of this random gas?
-Ohhhh that was just for points...
-Checkpoint near the caged Its is too high to activate by walking...
-"But we think he died." Made me laugh...
-Wheel thing is confusing...
-I see a sensor switch but nothing is happening...
-Nevermind...
-Cannon reminds me of the Orient levels...
-Ahaaa finally hit his finger...
-Cannon should really be a one-shot grab switch instead of an on/off...
-I finished it. You really shouldn't ask for hearts.

Well, I gave you :star::star::star::star::star: anyway and there could be a <3 if you decide to fix the problems I mentioned. I really enjoyed the story and the level was a lot of fun. Can you leave feedback on my level "Good Point"? Thanks.

thanks for the feedback! I thought i glued that tree... not sure what section ur talking about when it was hard to get to the top though.. I tried to make that wheel less comfusing but it would not stay put (long story). The cannon is not from orient, custom made. I'm not really sure what the difference would be with one shot and on/off but i'll try it. But anyways, i'll work on V1.3, and check out your "Good Point" level.2010-07-13 22:42:00

When I first played the level i was like whoa 2 people played it thats a little i saw 4 stars as rating i was like its sounds good

I loved this level it was great story, great platforming, great length, great corner editing, and boss fight...

all though here are my rates

story: 5/5 its great it was halarious its cool unpurfied water sounds like fallout 3 heh.
Platforming :5/5 its great small platforms and big platforms it was kinda diffcult
Length: 5/5 It was short but than long so i liked it i got tricked on the part with the other scoreboard i was like what does this button do than it got long
corner editing:4/5 It was great until i saw some spaces empty i could see the background usaully you delete those corners to make it a fat floor or you can corner edit it to make it a fat floor
Boss Fight:5/5 It was awesome but i had some problems destroying his mouth it kept on opening and closing some times the fireball didnt even get in the mouth the ball got stuck it was kind of difficult.

But my over all score for you my friend is :star::star::star::star::star: 5 stars and a <3 heart it was a good level

First off, thank you for taking your precious time to look at my level! I appreciate it. In return, I'm looking at this and part 2.

Now to business.

FEEDBACK!
First Impressions:
Very nice, I liked the story, Music choice was good. A few parts were a little buggy/wonky, but that didn't really detract from the fun of the level.

Issues mentioned in Thread:
-The Well: I admit, I read this thread before playing the level, something I attempt to usually not do when giving feedback, so I was informed to a few issues right off the start. the first being the well. It needs to be static/glued down, although it isn't an issue if you have no prior knowledge of the well being static, and you approach it from the front.

-Difficulty in reaching the top of the "maze" area: Agreed. I found you had to be standing right on the slant of the lift contraption in order to reach the top left bubbles, and the top right bubbles, even though I reached them, I couldn't help but feel that it was a fluke. Also, if you failed to get those parts, you couldn't try again. Maybe a checkpoint inside the lift contraption would work for this?

-Boss Difficulty: I appreciate the fact that you warn us before he shoots his deadly ball...thing, but the boss would have been more fun if he didn't shoot those things until he opened his mouth (Like a defence mechanism). Also, getting the shot in the mouth was a one-in-a-million shot. It took a long time to get the shot in his mouth, let alone in the back. Perhaps slightly adjusting how low his jaw goes would alleviate this?

Things I Noticed
-Prize Bubbles: Some of them were placed in awkward places. Also, I've been through the level 3 or four times now, and I still can't find all of them. I'm missing 1, I think.

-Music Choice: Very good. I didn't think anyone could actually place "Glockenpop" in a level, and not have it be out of place or annoying! Grats! Also, the boss music really set the tone for the fight.

-Wheel/Switch puzzle: Most of it was fine, but I found that once the dissolve blocks were removed via switch, the wheel started to have a mind of its' own, and started to slowly move without Sackboy moving any switches. I don't know what could cause this.

Final thoughts:
Very good job! As mentioned above, I found the level very fun, and humorous at parts. I see a budding writer there! Camera angles were nice, placed right where they needed to be. Problems were minor, and did not detract from the overall fun, but unfortunately, detracted from your final mark.

Score: :star::star::star::star: (It was enjoyable, but the problems were just barely enough to knock a star off. If fixed, a 5-star is guaranteed!) and a <3 .

I am now playing part 2, and will post Feedback there!

okay, I forgot to glue the well. the top of the maze I don't understand what you really mean by that I never thought that was a problem, you just use the lever to raise the maze then use the slant on the left to jump onto the maze then get the bubbles. Sorry about the boss, I tried to make it come out the mouth in the first version, but it just didn't come out right, and since this level is almost out of space on the "thermometer" for some reason it wouldn't let me change the speed of the jaw. I think the prize bubble you're missing is either the one to the left of the entrance, or the one left of the key: you'll see a red X jump towards it and a gift comes down (i meant to make that hard to get). No wait, I know which one ur missing!!! You can grab onto the windmill!!! Just grab onto it and you'll find the gift, I also left a surprise if you grab onto the second windmill. And yes, I too think (as well as everybody but 6 year olds) think glokenpop music is horrid but it seemed to fit well in there, I'm glad you noticed! Yeah the wheel is possessed! I've tried so many times to fix it but it just keeps involuntarily moving and shaking!!!! But anyways thanks again for checking out my level, I can't wait to hear your feedback on the second one.2010-07-21 03:08:00

Your Billy Mays button is stuck.

This was a good level, but had just enough flaws to be a four-star. Right off the bat, I see you had a spree with the Community objects. Yes, Ali's shrooms look cool, but I sure get sick of seeing them in every level. And Spark's sun, too. Try to create your own objects. I also disliked the eye-sticker spammed cavern. It was good that you gave a reason for it, at least. I did like the rest of the level, though. The circle puzzle was fun, and even though the bolt glitched, I enjoyed it. The boss was hard to hit exactly right, but that made it feel fresh. The end area looks really nice.

Four stars and a heart! Off to part two!

Thanks for checking out my level, and yes I used community objects *shame* lol, I wasn't going to do the eye "spam" but it just didn't look very interesting without it.

Hey Val
Welcome to community. The level was pretty solid throughout. I liked the story, it was pretty funny and original, especially the false ending was a nice touch. The cutouts and level layout was well made and attractive, no real issues. I didn't notice you used community items, but thats why they given out right? Thats just my opinion. The spinning circle with levers seemed to be spazing out and shaking, but it didn't break. Anyway you can fix that? If not, no biggie. Not much else to say, gave it 4 stars. I expect your future levels will be even better! I tried your World at it's end or something like that, and it was also solid. You're a creator with alot of potential.

Thanks for checking my level out, btw I'm sure you didn't read through this forum no prob but i've mentioned I can't fix the spaz wheel, it's possessed. Not even kidding. And lol: At World's End was like my first level, so I think that's funny you enjoyed it, I think it's horrid now that I look back at it.

Writing this as I am playing... Notes of weird or a little unfitting elements in the level (Probably a lot of similarities with the others) along with suggestions:

- The well is loose. glue it to the ground? make any of it's part static?

-Kind of going out on a sentence, but when one of them grey things says "If you get stuck anywhere, remember you can use the popit menu to try again" Should you not mention instead the retry function instead of saying just the popit? I know, I am being picky, but it bugs me. Maybe something like "Choose retry in the popit menu to try again" ???

-The wheel puzzle, where you have to rotate it and stuff, shakes like an eptileptic who just drank 6 bottles of soda. Stops though when the two dissolves disappear.Corner edit a little?

- To my big frustration, I can't reach the weak point in the Malbora's mouth. Argh! I only reach the point right before. In my eyes this is not challenging, but rather irritating, and kind of ruins the fun of the level a little. This one you can do as you like with, put it more in the front (just one hack, it's fine enough to get there), or let it stay as it is.
Edit: Just got it as I finished writing that. :/ took me a long time though.

Thumbs up:

Nice visuals, everything looks good.

The gameplay is nice.

On the gameplay part I would like to see a little more of puzzles and platforming though. The walking became a little boring at times. Your puzzles were enjoyable and not too difficult, which I like (though I have nothing against tough puzzles either). Continue with the good work!!!

4 :star:s for the level, <3 as well for it and to you too!!!!

Hey valmassoi,

Congratulations on a Spotlight nod for both of your Malbora levels and your waterfall tutorial. Well done! You have quite an imagination, and I loved the characters and storylines of your two Malbora levels. However, I think they could be a little bit more polished since some areas felt a little bit empty. Maybe you should experiment more stickers to fill in those negative spaces. I see a lot of potential in you though, so keep it up!
