Maltay made a joke about this thread in another thread, but I actually think it's a good idea. Maybe we'll make some of them un-imaginary if we keep this thread. So far we have: Secret Santa - Forum members draw a random name of an active forum user around Christmas time. This name is kept secret; no one knows who has who. Then, the user makes a cool LBP item and gives it to the person they picked. EDIT: Confirmed, it'll happen at Christmas time. Names will be drawn Dec. 1. Forum Only Level/Rec Room - Kind of self-explanatory. A forum-only level (you must be part of the forum to get the password), which may function as a room to kind of just play around in. This may combine the Prize Room idea below. Prize Room - The Prize Room would be a level full of cool collectibles made by forum users. We would first add only a few member's items(I would say lbp, Maltay, and Reshin) and we could award an invitation code to that level. They could download it, collect the items, and then add their own items to the level(I would want someone there to moderate what items are added, so we can make sure they are actually worth adding). They would upload the newly changed level(as a private level) and slowly but surely we'd build up a collection of great stuff made by us, only for us. Competition/Contests - After the release of LBP, the forum can have a monthly level creation contest to keep the creative juices flowing. A moderator or impartial party could come up with a theme for the contest, rules/stipulations/etc and the contests can be for solo or teams or both. Maybe a solo and team contest could run at the same time for parties interested in one or both format(s). End of the month, the levels go live for playing and voting here on the forum or, the winner could be determined by the votes in-game over a period of time. | 2008-07-29 01:03:00 Author: bbroman Posts: 1374 |
We should add descriptions for each, so people know what they are. Also, here's a description for mine(mind adding it as a separate entry?): Prize Room -The Prize Room would be a level full of cool collectibles made by forum users. I could be of great use to that. Ill be getting all of the items on all 60 lvls, 100%. Im bound to have something you guys don't. | 2008-07-29 01:49:00 Author: Jack Posts: 999 |

I'm actually talking about custom-made items, such as vehicles, props, stickers, ect. I'm sure the built-in items can't be given to people who haven't unlocked them themselves, anyway. | 2008-07-29 01:51:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
i'm so going to put my home made metal gear REX in it. and my boss tank battle. | 2008-07-29 01:58:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |

Well, if he has more items, he can make more stuff. And you can probably get the items online even if you don't have the materials. Some people are barely going to touch single-player. | 2008-07-29 02:04:00 Author: bbroman Posts: 1374 |
one problem for the rec room.... isn't the max number of people in a room 4.... | 2008-07-29 02:07:00 Author: Reshin Posts: 1081 |
one problem.... isn't the max number of people in a room 4.... for the prize room? it's just a home made level with all the cool objects in. so it doesn't matter about the person limit as it will be downloaded to our PS3's. | 2008-07-29 02:11:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
one problem.... isn't the max number of people in a room 4.... Yeah, that shouldn't be an issue. Someone can add their items to an existing level easily, they just download it and edit it on their own, adding whatever they want to. | 2008-07-29 02:11:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
eh was hoping to catch that with the edit... was talking about the rec room :o | 2008-07-29 02:12:00 Author: Reshin Posts: 1081 |
eh was hoping to catch that with the edit... was talking about the rec room :o haha i see. yeah thats down to if MM allow a room where we can just have loads of players but not a level. i doubt it though. | 2008-07-29 02:19:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |

one problem for the rec room.... isn't the max number of people in a room 4.... Yeah, but it's still a good meet-up spot if a few of us want to get together to play a level. It'll be good to have it. | 2008-07-29 03:17:00 Author: bbroman Posts: 1374 |
I'm thinking the rec room should be a room filled with 'toys'. For example, a ball launcher and multiple holes for it to land in, so you can try and score points, so to speak. We can make it so points are dropped on the player according to which hole the ball drops into as well. There's an example of a toy right there. Any other ideas? | 2008-07-29 03:24:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Great ideas guys. Let's go for it. | 2008-07-29 05:50:00 Author: lbp Posts: 423 |

I think that was popular in the MM office! By the way guys, I have a PSN sub-account with the name of Sackperson... Just so none of us have to use one of our large craters for the rooms, I could host all of said rooms on that account? | 2008-07-29 08:38:00 Author: Maltay Posts: 2073 |

I'll add it. | 2008-07-29 08:42:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

Hey, I have a new idea! You know the logo contest (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=317) that's going on? I think I have a good way of utilizing that logo. Instead of just stamping it on, I think we should have a final one that has to be stamped on by a "quality control" member. That way you could submit your level for authentication to this site, and if it passes, you get the forum's stamp of approval on it(which would be the final logo). I think, if we did this, I would make a small change to the logo so only the aformentioned "quality control" members could get their hands on the official image. That way people don't transfer the image to their own HDD and start stamping away. I could plan it out, if you guys like the idea. | 2008-08-01 06:19:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

We would need a thread where you can place a booking to get your level. You would post the level name, your name and the tags you put on your level. A thread should be started about this so we can get the overall lbpcentral member opinions. A poll on the thread perhaps?? | 2008-08-01 07:51:00 Author: muttjones Posts: 843 |

A thread should be started about this so we can get the overall lbpcentral member opinions. A poll on the thread perhaps?? That sounds like a great system for quality control. They make a thread, somebody official tries it, and will allow it the stamp. After they make enough good levels, then they can stamp their levels without having to make a thread. | 2008-08-01 07:56:00 Author: eternalflame Posts: 5 |
Well, who's the official person? LBP? Malt? What if the quality control person isn't available for awhile? I really think it'd be better to let the logo be reserved for collaborations, while personal-levels are logo free. | 2008-08-01 11:14:00 Author: bbroman Posts: 1374 |

I don't need to the community's approval to be happy with my own levels. Frankly, I don't think this place needs the bureaucracy. If someone makes a crap level, but is proud of their effort they put into it, they deserve to show it off as much as the guy who makes a dev quality level. Something like this only serves to create elitism within the community. If lbp wants to restrict who can throw up a lbpcentral logo at the end of their level, than thats up to him. The reason why I wanted to do it was to help attract attention to the community. Sorry if i'm overreacting, it's late, i'm tired | 2008-08-01 12:16:00 Author: Harrisment Posts: 136 |
Well we would have a few quality control members it this goes through... 3, maybe 5.. i was gunna say - not just one person... a few. 4 or 5 sounds appropriate... meaning there should always be someone available to try it out. but like... how would this work? would we personally put the stamp on, and upload it back up so they can download it then upload it again (a bit of a lengthy process eh...) or just tell them they can put the stamp on? | 2008-08-01 14:50:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |

I don't think you would have to submit it for approval if you didn't want to, but as a site we might want to be careful how we get our name out there. If anyone can use the logo, someone can make a flaming penis level, and at the end, there's our logo! I mean, it just might turn into something every member does, and that might not be great. | 2008-08-01 18:23:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Well, lets just use it as a prize then, for the monthly competitions, if it passes We could also have a standard one available for all forum members so that everybody is happy! | 2008-08-01 20:12:00 Author: Maltay Posts: 2073 |

We could put "winner" text on the logo for the competition, such as "LittleBigPlanet Central Winner" or something, and have one like "LittleBigPlanet Central Member" for members. | 2008-08-01 20:16:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
I've updated it with the new contest idea. I'd love to be the theme comer-upper (I couldn't come up with a phraser) for that, BTW. | 2008-08-01 20:25:00 Author: bbroman Posts: 1374 |

Maybe the winner of the previous can choose the theme of the next, but be excluded from taking part (officialy) so that everybody gets a go. | 2008-08-01 20:27:00 Author: Maltay Posts: 2073 |

Loving the ideas guys Sounds brilliant. Just a quick question though - Earlier in the thread people were talking about downloading maps, and this popped into my head.. Will you be able to play other peoples levels online? Or will you have to download them? Downloading isn't a problem, I'd just prefer to play them online, and if I liked it download it lol. | 2008-08-09 02:43:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |

I think these idea's are fantastic... and I think the Gods of this site should decide what player created levels get to use the logo... "In LBPC we trust" It would be very kool if we could have a few of the members get together and build a level...4 heads are better then 1 | 2008-08-09 02:59:00 Author: Noonian Posts: 523 |

Yeah, the download will be short enough so that you almost think you're just playing online. | 2008-08-09 15:30:00 Author: bbroman Posts: 1374 |
i read somewhere between 200 and 400kb.... that's nothing... If you can store an infinite (as big as your hard drive allows) amount of levels on the PS3 as well that would be fantastic. | 2008-08-09 15:32:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
