http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/5981/aphoto1b.jpgThis is the last of my Witchcraft levels. The hunt for the witch comes to an end. Pure artistic style and platforming with lots of hidden stuff and funny characters.
[div=padding-top:10px;]After several months of create-a-break from LBP I'm back with my last level in LBP1. This is Scorching Witchcraft and the final level in my trilogy. I started creating on this not long after the last one and I created quite a lot actually but all of a sudden I left it there for months on end. Checked back on it from time to time but I'd created so much I didn't know where to pick it up again. All of it was created bit by bit to make sure all the pistons and chains don't break. The entire level is held up by pistons and the smaller structures is attached to the main level. Everything's moving as I felt it was important to breathe life into it. The level is quite short but if you want to explore everything you'll be stuck in there for quite a while I think. I'd rather have all that detail as I think it separates it from the rest. The level is split into big sections like the previous one. You'll move through a steampunk farm-like area before you drop down onto my personal favourite creation - a big victorian steampunk clock. I love it so much. The intention was to sum up the entire victorian age in it so I built in a steamtrain that goes around it as well as a mini-jack the ripper street on the bottom. I won't say much more about that. Next up is a big rocking chair....yeah..play that too. Don't get stung by the cactus dude though. The last area is a big skull cave where you can try for bubble combos.

- The mousetrap SHOULD respawn each time. I will probably need to set up a 100% failsafe system as it sometimes doesn't.
- I don't know where I get all my inspiration from other than google so big thanks to MM for the creativity I never knew I had.
- Thanks to everybody
- Be on the lookout for Qugz driving sim level in a few weeks. We're emitting everything from layer 50 to the front to simulate real first person driving sim - you've not seen anything like it yet.
- Bring on LBP2

I just got done playing it! It's crazy/Weird. Love the music and art form. very cool. Can't say I would do anything. How did you make the shaving pop up after that thing went backwards.2010-07-12 23:58:00

As I expected, this level was a mind trip! So many crazy characters and contraptions woven together, I loved it! My favorite part was shaving the wood! Very well done!2010-07-13 12:49:00

What do you mean "can't say I would do anything?". the shaving off the wood is emitted right in front of the ...shaver.. not sure what the english name of that tool is. Crazyness it is though.

I meant I can't say I would change anything. like fixes or anything it all works. And ok, I see how it was done. Thanks.

Really like this level, it's completely mad! I love how nothing in it seems to have any purpose or make any sense. And how everything is moving - I don't think I've seen as much movement in any level.

I look forward to this first person driving sim, sounds interesting!

I didn't find the witch. And the mousetrap didn't respawn, but I liked the idea of the mousetrap.2010-07-16 01:41:00

Very Whimsical, very dreamy, crazy landscape. Great contraptions within, the wood shavings were my favorite. And good plug about the dream/bed at the end, very funny. 5/5!2010-07-26 00:14:00

I loved your Melding Witchcraft level and so I was really pleased to see this new level had been published. I wasn?t disappointed. It's brimful of the same creativity and originality as the first 2 levels in the series. Wonderful contraptions full of life and movement and colour. The clock section is perhaps my favourite ? I loved the little train and the beautiful clock hands. Great sound effects too.

I know it's not a big thing but I also love your custom bubbles and the way they change to match each section of the level.

The ultimate charm of the level though is it's quirkiness and vibrancy.

Five stars and a heart.

Thanks. Got the first idea ready for whenever the next level will be made but first I have other themes I want to do. Not a mixed one like with this trilogy. Check my deviantart sig for my ideas. I want to add that just like Morgana wrote in the spotlight ( I think ) you get back what you "invest" in this. There's a hidden jetpack in the level so if you really want to look around... good luck. For a good laugh you could try to use the train -before- grabbing the guy's head and drag the key to either side of the clock. (The guy is Thomas Edison)2010-07-27 14:05:00

Lol, I think I stumbled across the key joke by accident (if it's the one which means the Ripper house doesn't open, that is). I also liked how when in one playthrough I accidentally dropped a key and it fell down on top of cloud in a lower section of the level a cutscene flashed up saying "Hey, watch it!" or something along those lines!

I didn't know about the jetpack though. I'll definitely have a shot at finding it, although if I remember rightly from Melding Witchcraft, you're pretty good at hiding stuff!

This is the last of my Witchcraft levels.

So ... no chance for an "epilogue" level in LBP2?

It would have to be the final showdown with the witch even though the story is very loose if you can call it that at all. It's really just a big bunch of weird gameplay. I have yet to make a boss in lbp so I'll definately look into it once I learn how to use the tools in LBP2 properly. - ps if you can find the jetpack in the level you're good.2010-08-08 21:43:00
