Can you guys help me find a TV?
Archive: 17 posts
My budget is up to ?350-400 and i'm in the market for a 24-26" 1080p screen that I can use as both my computer monitor at uni as well as an output for my ps3. I wouldn't want to go to 32, because remember, I do actually have to do work on this thing and I can't be squinting at it. My computers graphics card is an HD5770, so it'll be up to the job of displaying at that resolution, also it has an HDMi output, so that's cool. I'm looking around on different sites, but some of you guys might have opinions one way or the other on different sets you might have bought. Any help is appreciated, TY | 2010-07-12 18:07:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |
well I'm not an expert on TV's but what about eBay? Do they have it where you are? | 2010-07-13 09:17:00 Author: Ainsl3y_xo Posts: 478 |
Go to a local computer store or tescos have some cheap monitors at that prize. Don't go to eBay though. The monitor may be broken. | 2010-07-13 09:34:00 Author: Barnsy_AKA_ash Posts: 293 |
Buy them in payments, you don't have to pay full price at once and you can save up for each payment in-between. | 2010-07-13 09:59:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

If you're not willing to wait for a 3D, I suggest you to buy a Samsung. They're not expensive, they work wonderfully and they're reliable. And it should really fit the budget. | 2010-07-13 11:11:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I have a 32" Samsung i use for gaming with my 360, works pretty well (don't know the model though) If you get a smaller one it should be fine. | 2010-07-13 12:01:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks for the suggestions guys, but it can't be more than 26". I need to be able to do word processing on it, and I reckon that'd be about the upper bounds for usable monitor size. I've found this one (http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=26%22+full+hd&hl=en&cid=10457779498566095665&ei=Zkw7TN6tCZSy3QSVqdz1DQ&sa=title&ved=0CAwQ8wIwATgA#p), I reckon it looks like a go'er. Anyone got any opinions on it? (another thing that will be cool, is that the ps3 has an optical out and my soundcard has an optical in, so that'll mean I can have both video sources to the same screen and both audio sources to my hifi ) | 2010-07-13 19:46:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |

If you are a Costco member, they have amazing deals on good TV's. I got my Samsung 22" there for a VERY reasonable price. | 2010-07-14 01:17:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
I am not. 22" is good, but I really want it a teensy bit bigger, not much, just a bit more. Also I found wally within 10 seconds. He's in the top left above the table, directly above the yellow shoes. | 2010-07-14 01:32:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |
22" was just the size that fitted my room best, they had lots of other sizes too! XD Have you tried asking at your local Electronics shop? Im sure they would be happy to help you out. | 2010-07-14 03:31:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
LG is a very good brand, a bit inferior to Samsung for colour sharpness, and then it has a really awkward unfriendly interface | 2010-07-14 06:51:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
http://imagineannie.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/old-tv-set11.jpg Found this beaut and it's under your price range. I went to a huge effort to find it, so if you don't buy this one, I may have a mental break down... | 2010-07-14 11:52:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
http://thehottestgadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/smallest-screen.jpg I found this, it took ages, i new it was in the cupboard somewhere. It works perfectly and its smaller than 32" | 2010-07-14 12:01:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |

Don't really want to pay up the wazoo at a local dealership. They always over charge. We've got an LG 42" in the living room so i'm sure it's a good brand. | 2010-07-14 13:39:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |
