Destiny 2amazingflyingpoo
http://lbprussia.ucoz.ru/images/destiny2/1.jpgPart 2 of the Fate series: An unscheduled hyperspace jump leaves Destiny2's crew lost in space after teleporting the Fate technology from Phalaina to the ship.
This level picks up right where you left off in the original Destiny. You are greeted upon returning to the ship with the Fate technology from Phalaina and then the story kicks in.

I tried to use a lot of new ideas for this level while also doing my best to keep the same Destiny feel from the original level. I've managed to get rid of about 95% of the lag. There are 2 small sections that have lag simply because what is happening in that section is too much for the game handle without lag, but I made sure to add tech to make it so none of the tech intensive mechanics is working unless you are nearby.

At one point there is a asteroid section that works as sort of a mini-game. The idea was to make it have the same mechanics as a music game such as Guitar Hera where you have to push the correct button at the correct time. Make sure to read the directions carefully and it should be a lot of fun. Just be patient with it. If you get completely frustrated then you can cheat it, but I think that it will be a much better experience if you try to play it correctly :-)

Here are some incredibly high quality pictures thanks to the magical Domik:

I'm confused, are you asking me to post about it in my original post, or are you asking if I can put it somewhere in the level/level description?

I prefer to keep stuff like that out of the level description and levels because I like to just focus on the level. I'm sorry if that is what you wanted Domik You know that I would be glad to do just about anything for you, but I want to keep my description to the point.

OK, I have finished it and I must say well done, it is an absolutely brilliant sequel to the first one, the moons and planets this time are harder to find but I didn't mind that.
My favourite character was B3 (Does that make you feel better)

The worlds are all really different and that is cool, the cave at the end was a little short but it didn't take anything away.
All the time puzzles were coll, and the fact that they can be done without slowing down time make them have more depth.

I must say congratulations on the level, it is brilliant % stars and hearted.
Continue bringing us these masterpieces poo, you might be going home soon but you can't desert the PSP, your levels are the magic that makes the platform shine.

Edit: So it seems I did both side quests too, God I love it.

how many side quests are there, I don't want to finish without doing it all.

There are two, and each have two parts to them. One is triggered when you go back to the desert planet and speak to the bug inside the big rock (do it after you activate your first device or any time after that), an the second is triggered when you speak to BlueBugBill who is on the far right on the desert planet.

But... I'm a bug! D:
An insignificant buuuug! Oh well. I has sad face, but...

Thank you Ms. AFP!

For the record, I think that you look pretty awesome But either way, everybody who has gotten a shout out in the levels has either been a part of the crew or looked a bit silly since they are an alien... well.. except for Domik who is a super buff sackboy. So since the crew has already been picked out you sort of have to be an alien. Sorry B3, I actually went out of my way to include you.

@robotiod:

Thanks so much for the feedback! It is a huge relief that you thought that this felt like an acceptable sequel because I was a bit worried since I know that there were high hopes riding behind it.

the moons and planets this time are harder to find but I didn't mind that.

I tried to add a bit more variety to their location, so while some are located near the corners, you also need to search in the center area for a few.

My favourite character was B3 (Does that make you feel better)

There you go BlueBulletBill :-) Someone likes your character

The worlds are all really different and that is cool

I tried to put a huge emphasis into this, and taking a break from making Destiny 2 to make Here and There gave me a great chance to think of new ideas for Destiny 2. I was very happy with the variety of scenery as well as objectives in the different areas. I am glad that you liked it :-)

the cave at the end was a little short but it didn't take anything away.

That was due to thermo issues. I would have loved to have had a longer cave but I was running into some problems. It works the way I want it to, though, because I think that you can finish when you have only 4 devices active (I doubt you can pull it off with 3 though), so there is variety.

All the time puzzles were coll, and the fact that they can be done without slowing down time make them have more depth.

I'm glad you enjoyed the variety introduced by having the ability to change time. It's tough, but it is possible to collect all of the Devices without activating any except for the very first one that is given to you at the very start (you have to activate that one to progress the story... well... maybe you don't. Now that I think of it, it might be possible to try to beat the level with no activate devices, but you will need to activate them before heading into the cave.

I think that another challenge is to ace the level. It can be kind of tough to do. I was happy that I pulled it off. If you do things in the right order it gets easier, but it is still a challenge.

Thanks so much for the very kind words and for checking out the level robotiod :-D

Wow, I loved this level. Like, actually loved it! An RPG! That has to be a crushing blow to Team Jonze.

The level was a ton of fun for me. Even when I got the usual confusion at the map, I was enjoying every minute of it. All the gameplay elements were so smooth and enjoyable. My favorite sections were the meteor minigame, the charging minigame, and the platforming you have to do to get to my dark matter. (Following which, the crew refers to me as "that bug".) However, I can't help but wonder if you could have ditched the charging step to add another side quest?

This level is a massive improvement over Destiny in every way. More flow, more fun, less confusion, less searching. I loved it!

PS: Perhaps next time the player needs to build a small space vehicle to get something, and a certain bug lends him a dark matter engine? Just a thought.

Five stars and a heart!

@ali:

Jeff actually got to see my tech thanks to the issues I had with publishing. I came crawling to him on my hands and knees begging for help in getting the level to publish and he told me if I would sacrifice my level to him then he would help. How could I resist? I had nothing left.

So I gave him the level and in return I am now able to publish it.

Well... it didn't go exactly like that, but he did end up with a copy of the level because we were trying to figure out why it was claiming to be corrupt. I must admit that it was certainly a new experience to be chatting with him on gmail chat while we were both going through the level in create mode and ripping it apart trying to figure out what was causing the corruption. *thanks for the help Jeff!*

@X-FROGBOY-X:

Sorry, but your name will be very hard to get into a level since it would not feel very natural to have someone named FROGBOY. Maybe I can get a different name from you next time I make a level. With this one there wasn't much reason to name the characters, so the only new person is B3. In later levels I will be adding more people from the site. I apologize that it didn't work out for this one. I was trying to add ali in and I just couldn't and that is a relatively normal name, so the level just didn't really work out for giving shout-outs :-(

@B3:

Whoooaa!! This is awesome! I haven't given feedback in ages, but I'll give it a try.
Your levels never cease to astonish me! the logic and mechanics behind everything seem immensely complicated, and all your levels have a distinct theme to them. They're always very well thought out, and very fun to play. I love the moving around the galaxy as it gives the player the illusion of somehow controlling what will happen. It's a really long and gripping level, and also quite challenging as the player has to figure out what they need to do next.

@gareth:

Thanks so much for checking out the level! It is awesome to hear that you enjoyed it :-)

[EDIT: I'm not sure what my next project will be. I have a good idea of what I would like to do with Destiny 3, but I also have a concept for a level that I would really like to try out which should be something out of the ordinary. I would probably lean toward the new concept just because I don't want to be doing the same series back-to-back]

@TheForgotten:

Thanks for checking out the level and taking the time to leave feedback forgotten, it is much appreciated :-)

all your levels have a distinct theme to them

I'm very glad to hear that you feel this way. On PS3 I sort of stuck to a single series and on PSP I really wanted to try to have variety to my levels. It is awesome that you feel this way about them :-)

I love the moving around the galaxy as it gives the player the illusion of somehow controlling what will happen.

Woo-hoo! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed flying around. I was hoping that people enjoyed that aspect since I added more planets/moons this time.

It's a really long and gripping level, and also quite challenging as the player has to figure out what they need to do next.

I was a bit unsure about the length. On Destiny, some people said it was way too short, and some said that it was too long. I ended up making this one a bit longer (I think???), but I was hoping that the variety of gameplay would make that ok for those who thought that the first was too long.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Hiya-

Well, I gotta say, this is very, very, very, very, very good. It kept your classic feel (by that I mean there was a lot of new innovative stuff). I had a lot of fun playing this , at first I felt it was going to be long, but it's not so hard when you know where you're traveling to and what you're going to do when you get there. I liked exploring the planets for the devices, and the hourglass thing was very cool. Great job poo!

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: and <3ed the level.

@B3:

Thanks so much for the in-depth feedback B3 :-) I always love to hear from you!

My favorite sections were the meteor minigame, the charging minigame, and the platforming you have to do to get to my dark matter.

It is a HUGE relief to hear that you enjoyed the asteroid/meteor mini-game! I put days into making that work the way it does. I had it working after a few days, but it wasn't 100% accurate with pushing left or right on the analog stick. It took a lot of trial and error but I finally got it to the point where it really does seem to work 100% of the time for each button (left, right, x, and R). I'm really happy that you enjoyed it.

The charging minigame wasn't to bad to build, but I ran into an issue that took me some unique tech to overcome. I needed to make it so that you could pick up as many devices as you wanted, and when you brought them back to the charger, they would all charge at once. I was worried that there wasn't a solution but I managed to work something out.

The part with the platforming to get the dark matter was really irritating because it kept breaking itself. I'm happy with how it turned out, and thanks to some advice from Jeffcu it turned out much better than it would have otherwise *thanks again jeff*.

(Following which, the crew refers to me as "that bug".)

I really enjoyed having the crew of Destiny2 refer to the bug race like that because that is how I would imagine them talking if they just ran into a new unfamiliar race an just had to start working with them.

However, I can't help but wonder if you could have ditched the charging step to add another side quest?

This is a valid point. I really enjoyed the charging minigame and I hoped that it would add a layer of depth to the level. I may have been able to add a short platforming section to the level instead, but I thought the added depth made it well worth dropping an extra platforming section. I am sure that you and I could have a great conversation about that seeing as you lean heavily toward platforming and I lean heavily toward new mechanics, so I'm doubting that anyone will win here. It's a good point B3, I will certainly give you that :-)

This level is a massive improvement over Destiny in every way.

Those are the best words that you could say :-) I really wanted this to feel like a good successor to Destiny, and I was worried that I would let a lot of people down if I didn't pull it off.

PS: Perhaps next time the player needs to build a small space vehicle to get something, and a certain bug lends him a dark matter engine? Just a thought

I've got big plans :-) But I'm not spilling the beans

Well, I'm playing this currently, and I noticed that the speech bubble on the planet with the asteroid minigame saying, "It appears that some sort of A.I. is trying to extend a bridge across the gap between these two towers. It seems that whenever an asteroid passes between the towers it causes the A.I. to malfunction." can be activated from the planet where you can slow down time.

Also, on the planet with the rapid-firing fireballs coming out of the gas pits, I was able to take the high route over to the technology, which I think you intended to be an exit path.

Just thought I would point that out.

Wow.

That was one of the longest and most complex levels I've ever played. It totally felt like a unique game, not just a LBP level. I loved the asteroid and charging minigames, those could each be a separate level, but no, you incorporated them into another, bigger level. I've never seen an RPG level executed so well.

The dropship worked really well and was a good transition between the ship and the planet. One annoying thing though, is that when I would leave the control room to go to the dropship, I would sometimes bump the switch and not notice, and I wouldn't be able to go down to the surface. It's just a minor annoyance though, and doesn't take away from the level at all.

The best part of this level was that it took me 30 minutes to finish, yet i didn't even want to finish it. It was that good. :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 for sure.

Hey, that was a great level man! I'm sure that it met everyone's expectations.

I see now what you meant when you said the time slowing device was similar to what is in my "Color of Music" level. But you put it in your level in a very different unique way, that I thought was awesome! The only real problem that I had, was when I was on the moon and you had to destroy the astroids. I had a little bit of trouble remembering what controls destroyed which astroid and the control display seemed a little confusing to me, and I couldn't see it very well cause of the camera angle. I ended up just pressing all sorts of random buttons at that part because of that. But that's probably just me.

I thought that everything else was amazing! I really like how you have to go to different planets and moons to find things, and I also love how this can truly be called "A Series".

Great level man! I gave you five stars :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart <3!

Keep up all the great work, and I'll be looking forward to more of your levels!

Tonight I'm going to play user levels on my psp for the first time. I played the beta briefly but now I've gone through the first four spotlights with lbp levels included and downloaded them all. Should be good. I also noticed the psp version has featured levels and creators etc...I really like it.2010-07-12 20:33:00

This is an amazing level, which must have been pretty complex. The backtracking was fun, as usual. And the visuals were exquisite. The gameplay was spotty though, and on the "planet which is being ripped apart" It seemed like you needed luck to get to the device. However, the puzzles were fantastic and it made me wonder what possible logic could be behind it. All in all, it was good but sadly, I felt the first was just a little better than this one.2010-07-12 21:46:00

the only problem i had was i think i cheated without knowing it the part where your climbing a vine i went over the top on another vine (oopsys)

anyway i bet in the last 66 posts people have said how cool this level is 5000 stars and a heart!

@ali:

its a good thing! because it means the fun lasts
it began feeling like an actual game not a level

It's awesome to hear you say that :-) It's great that the level felt that fleshed out!

@Starchy:

It seems that whenever an asteroid passes between the towers it causes the A.I. to malfunction." can be activated from the planet where you can slow down time.

Wow, I had no idea that that was the case. Well, it makes sense I guess, I just thought that I had made it so that that dialog would disappear, but I guess I didn't. I don't think that it is worth republishing for, but thanks for pointing it out :-)

Also, on the planet with the rapid-firing fireballs coming out of the gas pits, I was able to take the high route over to the technology, which I think you intended to be an exit path.

I did realize that this was the case. I figured that it wasn't super obvious, plus I have the camera sort of guide you down to the platform. I gave it some thought and figured I would allow tricky players to take the top path. It isn't the easiest thing to do, and I like the idea of having multiple routes :-) You are correct that it was intended for a way back, but I completely realized that you could use it as a way in as well and I decided to leave it that way :-)

Thanks for having such a keen eye starchy!

@Nuffles:

It totally felt like a unique game, not just a LBP level.

It makes me feel so happy to hear that you felt that way! It's awesome that the level sucked you in

I loved the asteroid and charging minigames

Woo-hoo! Couldn't be happier to hear that! Those were two things that I put a lot of thought and time into to get them to work, so it is awesome to hear that they stood out to you. I am especially happy to hear that you liked the asteroid game since it can be a bit hard to get used to at first

One annoying thing though, is that when I would leave the control room to go to the dropship, I would sometimes bump the switch and not notice, and I wouldn't be able to go down to the surface. It's just a minor annoyance though, and doesn't take away from the level at all.

I did my best to avoid this, but it is still and issue. If you don't jump when you are getting down off of the chair then the ship will not shift. I get the feeling that a lot of people jump because they think that it will help them avoid the problem when it in fact causes the problem. Either way, I added a mechanic that makes it so that the ship locks onto any planet or meteor for 5 seconds when you point at it. That was to try to limit this problem (the level would literally have you ripping your hair out because it would be so hard to remain locked onto planets without it). Sorry that it got on your nerves a bit.

The best part of this level was that it took me 30 minutes to finish, yet i didn't even want to finish it.

That is awesome news :-) Thanks so much for the feedback!

@eagerneph:

I see now what you meant when you said the time slowing device was similar to what is in my "Color of Music" level. But you put it in your level in a very different unique way, that I thought was awesome!

Yeah, when I played Color of Music for the first time and saw that clock I was like "NOOOOOO!!!!", because I had already gone through a lot of trouble to build my clock into Destiny 2 and it was a central part of the level. Our clocks work so much different though (mine is a global clock which you slow down in increments while yours is a local lock with one quick grab for a single mechanism) so I don't think that it is a big deal. I just wanted to let you know that I hadn't copied you because I had mine built before I ever played your level :-)

No worries :-) If you jumped down out of the transmitter box then the camera would have zoomed back to normal and you could see the directions. My amazing testers even had issues with this part so you are certainly not strange for struggling! Sorry that it was rough for you.

Thanks so much for the feedback eagerneph!

@Silver:

The gameplay was spotty though, and on the "planet which is being ripped apart" It seemed like you needed luck to get to the device.

If you try to beat that level without collecting many devices then it takes a lot of luck to get past the first bit. I tried to encourage the player to come back once they have more devices because there is a lot less fire shooting up then and it is pretty easy to do (it can be pure skill once you have 3 or more devices because there is plenty of space to time a jump).

I'm glad you liked the level, and I have no problem with you liking the first one more :-) Thanks so much for the feedback!

@Sketch:

I actually was thinking of how to add your name in when building. You and ali were two people that I was trying to add but it just didn't work for this level. Sorry :-(

the only problem i had was i think i cheated without knowing it the part where your climbing a vine i went over the top on another vine (oopsys)

Like I said earlier in this post, I realized that this is possible and decided to leave it. I will just call it you being clever instead of you cheating because I left it there for clever people. I could have easily had smoke that was in the way and then pulled it away once you get the device, but I decided to leave it the way it is for you tricky players :-)

@himoks:

Thanks so much for the feedback! I am thrilled to hear that you liked the level :-) 3 HOURS! Wow

Thanks so much for playing everyone!

This level is great! Man I had a blast traveling in your enormous world. You did a fantastic job of building a large world that is fun and had lots to do. I really liked your bug characters, they look fantastic. Everything looked great and had me interested the whole time. This level instantly became my favorite of yours, it is just so smooth and fun. I still can't wrap my mind around your mechanics for the spaceship. The length for this level was WAY too long, but in a good way (almost like it was a game seperate entirely from lbp). in the next destiny level, I'd like to see enemies. Perhaps even a mega boss like in Shallow Springs, only beefier (who doesn't like incredibly muscled giant crazy alien enemies?)2010-07-13 01:52:00

No problem man! I doesn't really seem like you would be copying me at all, since our clocks are pretty much like two very different ideas of controlling time.

Thanks for the awesome level man!

Edit: Oh yeah! I just realized the other night while playing the first destiny that all the character names are from these LBPC forums!

Hey AmazingFlyingPoo! ,

It's a good thing you were able to publish your level! It was just as amazing as the first part of the series

The main objective was to slow down time by collecting these "devices", so you would be able to find another "Fate Structure." It kind of reminded me of the first level, since time is your enemy :kz:

Anyways this was another open and immense world to explore. With a new, but familiar face...name? BlueBugBill! :S
The gameplay was great, we had some platforming in one planet and a bit of strategy element in another.
Visuals? Well, it was great and I still felt that AFP scenery feel from your "Now and Then" and "Here and There" levels
Length? I finished it in 10 minutes, which is a great playtime as far as other levels go.
Stickers? Well heck, of course there were stickers everywhere! Nice placement and output.
Materials? They fit the feel of every planet I went to.
Characters? As I mentioned, BllueBulletBill appears!, as a Bug! Haha, and he was blue-ish
Favorite Section? I loved the asteroid belt part, that was righteous. The controls were kind of hard to decipher at first, but I got it eventually.
Last statements: I have not been potrayed as a character yet, but I most likely would not fit one :hrmf:

Keep on creating AFP! Another amazing level from you
:star::star::star::star::star: and a <3!

I am reading about a controller chair in this level and you can only "control" left, right, R, and X.
Now don't think I am crazy but that sounds a lot like the controller seat prodgect I abandoned.
I was going to make something a lot like this until I decided to not do it because of the triathlon.
I feel like this is a stollen idea. But I'm not saying it is.
I just wanted to tell you AFP.

Cory the seat controler is in his first destiny level wich is a pretty old level if anything you stole his idea from that.

you said yourself you abandond the idea so its no big deal if he did "steal" it from you.

So is this controller seat the same as the one from the first destiny?

The reason I'm asking instead of looking for myself is because my psp will not read my game.

don't you think you should play the level cory?

Well I can't because my psp will not work(as staited in my last post).

And it is a good thing that it is exactly the same as the first one, because I plan on picking up on the controller seat prodgect when the triathlon contest is over.

The controller seat you read about Cory, isn't a controller seat.

The controller seat is the same as the one from the first Destiny, but the one you read about is actually a control for blasting asteroids out of oblivion so that the AI can fully extend the bridge. Yes, it's that awesome.

Wow, I just can't believe how awesome everyone has been with feedback! Thanks so much for checking out my level and taking the time to leave me your thoughts!!!

@Captain Rule:

I really liked your bug characters, they look fantastic

Thanks Captain! I am glad to hear that you liked them. When I sat down to make the new race I had nothing like that in mind, but it just started coming together and I am very pleased with the outcome :-) I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed them as well!

This level instantly became my favorite of yours

That is great news! I had a lot of worries going into publishing this. I was very happy with the level, but I was a bit worried that the new minigames (asteroid, charging devices) might be too complicated, or that the concept of slowing down time for certain challenges might be too much to take in. I was really hoping that it would almost have a mega man vibe where you can tackle things in any order that you want, but it will be much easier if you pick the right order.

The length for this level was WAY too long, but in a good way

I felt that this level was much longer than the original Destiny, but it is really hard for me to gage which would take someone longer since I know exactly how to play both of them. I'm glad that you enjoyed the length :-)

Perhaps even a mega boss like in Shallow Springs, only beefier (who doesn't like incredibly muscled giant crazy alien enemies?)

I would like to see that too....

@TheNerd:

ALright, I am on a stupid Chinese computer that just refused to let me copy and paste, so I am going to have to stop quoting for now I'll just have to refer to your post.

Thanks so much for the in-depth feedback. I am glad that you thought this level felt like a good follow up to the original Destiny. I really wanted it to feel like it meshed well with the first level :-)

So you managed to beat it in 10 minutes?! That is incredible!!! You have some awesome skills with playing LBP PSP, that's for sure :-) I'm glad that you thought it was a good length!

The thing that made me the happiest was the fact that you enjoyed the asteroid belt. I put a lot of time into that and I was worried that people would just go button happy and beat if by button mashing. It's awesome to hear that some people are playing it the correct way and enjoying it!!!

Thanks so much for the feedback TheNerd!

@Cory:

I'm sorry to hear that you thinkthat I stole your idea. I assure you that I have never heard anyone mention anything like this, and I had already understood the possibilities of the idea long before we were chatting on here.

When Arrestor made his awesome pinball level, I offered to make up a control scheme for him using x and R that I thought would work better then his current one. I built it and it worked seamlessly, but right when I finished it we had the huge problems surrounding the 2.03 update and nothing really changed with the pinball level. Ijust used the same concepts that I used wayyyy back then and appled them to right and left as well.

There is more to it, but I had the idea way back then so I promise that I didn't copy anyone.

@ali:

I'm guessing that you either somehow died in the pod when it landed, or you killed yourself before hitting a checkpoint. If you try to, there are ways that you can break the level (killing yourself is the main one, the rest should be pretty darn rare).

A dropship callback is an excellent idea and in all honesty, I have no idea why I don't have it. I mean, Ialready include call backs on my elevators Anyway, I haven't heard any other reports of problems, so hopefully this doesnt warrant a republishing, but I willmore than likely add a call back button to any future Destiny levels. Thanks for letting me know that you found an issue!!!

Besides that a device that lets you control a game/vehicle/anything with the buttons you operate sackboy with isnt anything anyone could claim for himself...

Edit: oops, i forgot my feedback

Hi Poo!
I think this level is really great (like everone else here). And i think i said enough about your perfect feeling for visuals and logic and stuff in the past. This level is really awesome again.
But i wonder if a series is the right thing to do for you because you always say you want to do something original. But i also think you achieved this in this level with the time aspect.
I had one big problem in your level, though. After i finished the asteroid minigame the opened a speechbubble on the other side of the bridge. It was only seen a very short time and i couldnt read it. when i tried to reactivate it i alway activated a speechbubble on a planet underneath it and because that one had an own camera i could see your tech between the planets. Besides that i didnt know what to do next... (but i mkanaged to finish your level anyway)
I think i will give this one another playthrough and look if i can recreate the bug (and find the missing sidequests).

greetings!

Hi, Poo!

You gladdened me with one more wonderful level. Thank you! I love first Destiny adventure and wait for new one with big impatience. And yesterday evening you presented it for everyone. I was very glad to try it. WOW! New Destiny adventure. I was really impressed with prologue sequence and text story - brilliant idea and interesting beginning. I love it. Then I returned to Destiny ship and new adventure began! WOW. It was very attractive and cool adventure. Using already known ship's control mechanics for discovering new worlds are very alluring. Your new bug race looks very nice. I love it, especial BlueBulletBill character with his side quest. Then I discovered time control planet with it's wonderful device. I loved it's mechanics. Very cool idea and perfect realization, Poo! Then I went to planet with fireballs and easily used high way to reach device. I thought, that it was right way until I read comments in this thread . Then I return to time control planet and unexpected found new speech bobble, that actives from there, but bobble situated on moon. It was some sort of message from outer space! I know, that it some sort of small bug, but I loved it! Then I activated several devices and go for searching that strange Moon. I found it and there was perfect mini-game with asteroids! It was so cool to destroy it. I think someone can use it for separate mini game level, but you used it in you story line and it is fantastic! My big respect for you hard and precise work. And second one obstacle with Dark matter for BlueBulletBill is well made too! Then I found last one device on moon near Sun (btw - nice idea with auto delivery - you save termo and add new story part - very cool decision). So after all these roams across galaxy I passed all main quests, found all five devices and finished all two side quests (your old idea with checked missions board work perfect and I love it). And then all I can do - is finish this wonderful level. I wanted to continue this journey, but I already visited all sections of this galaxy and explored all its parts. So I went to the cave and finished my adventure.

So, Poo, I must say, that you created one more brilliant level with many new features and very interesting story. I love all it's parts and had much fun during its walkthrough. I gave you 5 stars and heart for it, of course and l will wait for new part of Destiny journey and some new separate levels from you!

For visit that moon near Sun after you found it you must firstly speak with bug on their planet and then go to that moon. Then Taffey will use special device near it. (Poo, correct me if I am wrong, please).

Poo, sorry, I didn't find spoiler tag on this forum! If you tell me to remove this picture - I will do it immediately.

Hey poo! I finished playing your level, and I loved the crap out of it! It was so awesome, I was like:

http://tremendousnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/2883012011_b77b90bab9-1.jpg

But then, I was like:

http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx148/CyberSora/HeadAsplode-1.jpg

So yeah, you couldn't believe how many stitches I needed. Anyhow, I love this level, and since everybody took it in their hands to give you the most helpful feedback, I decided to just give you a short story. Hope you don't mind.

I dowloaded the level! Now off to my destiny /pun

*Narrator view.*

While CyberSora blabbed about some silly ship, he forgot to realize one thing. TO STICK TO THE SCRIPT! Now, will CyberSora be able to finish the level correctly? I highly doubt it.

"Okay, off to the bottom right planet!" said CS. As he messed around with the controls, the planets zoomed by, and luckily for him, the red planet that he needed stopped dead in front of him. With that, he took off to the planet.

"Man that took forever." said a very tired CS. Apparently he forgot to SLEEP TONIGHT! *Slap* "Ouch!" said CS. He began walking to the right, talking to bugs.

"Yada yada yada..." said the bug. CS didn't reply, but instead walked on. And he did this with the rest, until one specific bug came along.

"Hi, I'm BlueBugBill." the creature said. CS, being the most mature player around responded, maturely, of course....

"OH CRAP! A BUG!" *Squish.*

OH GOD DANG IT CS! THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE NO PETS! YOU KEEP KILLING THEM ALL!

"Ouch. That's cold man... wait, aren't we the same person?"

Great, now you use your head. You know what, screw this! I'm outtie! *Walks out door.*

"Wait, come back me! Ugh... this is why I don't make 'Epic Tales Of CyberSora' anymore. You always throw a fit! Dang... well, let's just end this at the 'Overall...' section instead.

Peace Out!"

Umm... did I just quit on myself? Weird... now who's going to write these things!? God dangit...

Overall, I found out the hard way that when I skipped the script and went to the other planets without being told so, it will ruin the gameplay. It won't let you finish the objectives, and the ending will be a surprise. Although, I did get to see some of your logic like this.

:star::star::star::star::star: and a <3! Excellent job!

Peace

Hmm, and just 2 weeks ago you were running around screaming like a little girl saying that you couldn't make Destiny2 work, and that it was a train wreck... Guess what, it's a really fun train wreck set in space! Another fantastic entry from you. Being that this is a sequel, it does what sequels do and thats give more of what you liked in the first, and turn it up a notch. The visuals are more attractive, the planets more varied, and the quests more in abundance. It feels like Destiny 1, but still different enough to stand alone. I liked that you couldn't really tackle some areas without slowing them down by collecting enough of the time artifacts. Once you collect enough, you can return to some of the harder areas, and the obstacles have slowed down. Kinda like Prince of Persia in space, lol. Didn't encounter any major bugs, just a few niggly things based on my taste. I didn't like the camera angle in the flame pit area, as it made it harder to navigate than it should be in my opinion. And lastly, the fidgety control chair from part one returns, lol. I always lock into orbit on a planet, then accidently misalign it after trying to leave the chair as you have to jump over the control lever every time. Minor stuff, no harm done. Overall, another hit for you my friend. 5 stars, and heart from K.K. Can we see some Space Pirates in part 3?... that'd rock.2010-07-13 12:15:00

He said earlier that if you don't jump the chair won nudge, but its instinctive to jump

Thanks so much for all of the replies once again, you guys are awesome!

@Arrestor:

But i wonder if a series is the right thing to do for you because you always say you want to do something original. But i also think you achieved this in this level with the time aspect.

You make an excellent point Arrestor. I do always say that I try to be original, so it sort of goes against what I say when I go publishing a sequel!

Well, let me explain...

When I made Destiny, I really thought that it was cool that it was so different from anything else that I had ever seen on either LBP (PSP or PS3). There was so much that I wanted to do with, but do to thermo limitations, I knew that I would have a terrible time trying to achieve everything in one level, plus the first level would spend a lot of speech just introducing the concepts and I couldn't even flesh out a deep story.

Because of this, I decided that I would probably make sequels out of the level. I have a good idea of what I want to do with the series, and I have a basic outline for how everything will happen, so I am planning to always work on it when I don't have a project at hand. Contrary to what you might believe, I cannot just pull an original idea out of my head at will. It is just something that randomly happens as I am thinking about the game, and there is no telling if it will happen tomorrow or 4 months from now.

Because of this, I plan on using Destiny as my level series to build while I don't have a new idea. While I was working on Destiny, completely stopped to build A Dingo Down Under because I love the idea of building that (so it was a new level idea that popped into my head thanks the the WDSD competition. I guess that this case doesn't apply too strongly to my argument though since this happened before the first level had been made so it was still an original concept.), and while working on Destiny 2 I completely stopped to build Here and There the day I came up with the idea.

I'm very happy to have a series that people seem to enjoy and I enjoy building to work on while I don't have a new idea. I am 100% willing to take a break from it the second that a new idea comes up though!

Does this make sense? The basic idea is that I would always prefer to make an original level, but I don't always have an original idea to base and entire level off of :-)

This is both very alarming and very odd. I read through your post and Domik's post when I was at school today, and I had assumed that you experienced the same problem, but reading your description now leads me to strongly believe that they were two different issues. What you describe makes very little sense to me. There is no dialog that activated upon finishing the minigame. There are 4 lines that go off beforehand, and then when you get all the way to the other side there are two that activate, but it seems to me that your issue happened right after you beat the minigame (so you hadn't crossed the bridge).

As I will explain later in this post, I tried and tried to make sense of Domik's issue, but it just plain doesn't work logically. The mouth that he is hearing has not been activated yet, and there is nothing that would accidentally activate it. I even tried building secondary tech into the level right now just to test some ideas out as to how it is happening, and there is just no way. It just plain doesn't make sense.

Sadly, you are in just about the very same boat :-( That magic mouth that you heard has a radius of 25 and it would need a radius of maybe 150 to 200 to get anywhere close to reaching you way up there! I just don't understand why this is happening.

As I have mentioned around the LBPC forums, I had some serious problems with publishing this level, and I almost gave up with it. The level actually told me that it was corrupt when trying to copy it. It wasn't until I was able to transfer it to Jeff via Taffey's description of the Magic Crater method that I realized that it might be publishable since he could play it just fine. Through trial and error I found out the the problem was that I had too many magic mouths, but why would this give a message that the level had corrupted???

I fixed the magic mouth issue, but there was still an odd issue on one of the magic mouths in the desert (the last speech that the chief bug in the rock gives after finishing the side quest for him. There is an exclamation point that is out of place, but when I look in the speech bubble in create mode the spacing is fine??? I know that speech bubbles can truncate, but this is adding spaces in middle of the speech!). There may be a chance that the magic mouths are actually corrupt in the level and they are doing their own thing :-( I know this sounds silly, but I am looking at the setting on the magic mouths, and what you are telling me is just not possible. Plus, Domik sent me a picture of the problem he had and that doesn't make any sense at all either.

I am really sorry about the issue, but it may really come down to not having the level published, or just dealing with the fact that the magic mouths are a bit finicky due to he corruption issues I ran into.

Thanks so much for checking out the level Arrestor!

@Domik:

First of all, thanks soooo much for those incredible pictures! I am going to post them to my original post as soon as I am done with this reply!

So, now on to your feedback...

I was really impressed with prologue sequence and text story

Outside of my incredible beta testers, you are the first person to even mention the intro! I'm happy to hear that you liked it. I had originally planned on explaining how that scene was depicting what Destiny used to look like, but my wife and I decided that the current dialog was the best way to present it and just let the player imagine what was being pictured.

Then I went to planet with fireballs and easily used high way to reach device. I thought, that it was right way until I read comments in this thread

It looks like allowing the player to go either way has come back and bit me in the end, but it is alright :-) I was hoping that the camera angle would encourage the player to go down but I don't think it is a major deal. That planet was one of the simpler ones anyway if you wait until you get more activated devices.

Then I return to time control planet and unexpected found new speech bobble, that actives from there, but bobble situated on moon. It was some sort of message from outer space! I know, that it some sort of small bug, but I loved it!

I just talked about the issues that people are mentioning in my reply to Arrestor in this post, but after reading your post again, I am beginning to think that you just randomly pushed triangle and it pulled that dialog up. Is that what happened? It sucks that it sort of messed the level up for a second, but it is not nearly as big of a deal as I had originally been worried that it was. Either way, thanks for letting me know about it :-) I'm glad that it didn't bother you much!

I found it and there was perfect mini-game with asteroids! It was so cool to destroy it. I think someone can use it for separate mini game level, but you used it in you story line and it is fantastic! My big respect for you hard and precise work.

I am SO happy that you enjoyed that mini-game. I was very excited for people to play it, but after speaking to Jeff and Taffey about it I realized that the controls were a bit tricky to learn (and I have heard many other people say it in their feedback). I'm glad that you took the time to figure it out and you enjoyed it. I agree that it could make an awesome mini-game level :-D

Then I found last one device on moon near Sun (btw - nice idea with auto delivery - you save termo and add new story part - very cool decision).

I'm glad that you enjoyed that. I realized that I wasn't going to have enough thermo to actually build another moon, but I wanted to have another device so I ended up using the idea that you saw. It felt unique from what you experience for any of the other devices or anything from the original Destiny, so I was happy with it. I am glad that you liked it too!

BTW, don't worry about posting that mission board. I may place it in the original post if I can figure out how to place a spoiler, but either way, I have had enough questions about those side missions that it would be good for people to see that they are there :-)

Thanks so much for the incredibly in-depth feedback and for playing the level :-) Also, thanks a ton for those amazing pictures!

@brimostudios:

Thanks so much for checking out my level and leaving feedback! It is awesome to hear that you enjoyed it :-)

I am flying out of China in 9 days (!!!), so things are getting really exciting for me and I will be very busy in the next few days and even more busy once I get back. Most likely there will be a period where no one hears from me but then I should be popping up on the PS3 side and the PSP side (though, as I have stated in my "Why I love LBP PSP" thread, I will be sticking to PSP).

@sketch:

Phew moving to america from china sounds like a brutal move if you have furnitcher and stuff to take with you
anyway i have not had a chance to play destiny again yet i was watching a movie

Well, it's brutal because we need to leave so much behind. We took two different trips to China (one in September and on in October when we moved here), so we were able to bring two loads over plus all the stuff we have bought while here. We are only taking the bags back with us that we brought with us, so a LOT will be left behind. This makes packing very difficult but the actual moving part won't be bad at all :-)

@CyberSora:

I laughed out loud at that post! It was awesome :-) Thanks for that! The pictures were hilarious and the story was even better.

My levels tend to degrade into confusion if you don't read the dialog, so I'm not surprised that things broke down for you, but I'm still sorry. It sounds like you still enjoyed the level even though you got to see my tech (or maybe you enjoy seeing tech ), and thanks for putting up with it even though it didn't work perfectly for you.

Thanks so much for playing the level and for the hilarious feedback!

@kaiju_kid:

Hmm, and just 2 weeks ago you were running around screaming like a little girl saying that you couldn't make Destiny2 work, and that it was a train wreck...

Oh crap! You weren't supposed to tell anyone about the tender moments!!!

Guess what, it's a really fun train wreck set in space!

Kinder words have never been spoken!

I liked that you couldn't really tackle some areas without slowing them down by collecting enough of the time artifacts. Once you collect enough, you can return to some of the harder areas, and the obstacles have slowed down.

I'm glad that you liked how that worked out. I wanted to get a sort of Mega Man vibe going where you could tackle things in any order, but if you tackle them in the right order then it is a lot easier :-)

I didn't like the camera angle in the flame pit area, as it made it harder to navigate than it should be in my opinion.

I was trying to make that really neat looking but I guess that it turned out irritating for you. I also made it that way to lead people down to that platform instead of up to the ceiling, but most people seemed to have headed for the ceiling anyway, so my camera angle seemed to be a nice big fail. Oh well, it was a nice thought :-)

And lastly, the fidgety control chair from part one returns, lol. I always lock into orbit on a planet, then accidently misalign it after trying to leave the chair as you have to jump over the control lever every time.

Yeah, the problem here is that everyone thinks you should jump, and that is actually what is causing the problem :-( Sorry about the issue kaiju, I did my best to make it as good as it could be.

Can we see some Space Pirates in part 3?... that'd rock.

Hmmm.... I hadn't even considered a twist like that....

Thanks so much for the feedback kaiju!

@famouscustard:

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the level and that you liked it more than Destiny :-D

I loved that you kept the same spaceship, it was great to have the familiar feel to it.

I'm glad that you enjoyed flying using the same ship. I made a few modifications to it so that the intro took place within the ship, but for the most part it is the very same :-)

The mini-game when activating the thingys was really impressive too, and felt almost like a level in itself.

I'm glad that you enjoyed that. That was the first idea I had for the level and I was very happy with how it turned out. I had some issues with it lagging because pistons were breaking, but eventually I figured it out. Another issue is that if there is any lag in the level then it makes it very difficult, so I had to make sure that there was zero lag in that section, but thankfully I managed to get rid of almost all of the lag in the whole level (my original finished version of the level was a terribly laggy mess because all of the mechanisms in the level were moving the whole time, so you had magnetic rocks going up and down, asteroids emitting, smoke moving in the cave, fireballs jumping everywhere,... it was a disaster. Now, nothing in the level is moving unless you get near to it).

The way this improved on the other levels was definately the variety. Each area presented a new, unique challenge, which really gave it a feel of a travelling to different places.

I really wanted it to feel like that. Since I didn't have a space station or anything of the sort, I wanted to make sure that planet/moon really stood out in the way it looked and in the way it played. It is great to hear that you thought it felt that way!

Thanks so much for the feedback famouscustard! We haven't seen a level from you in a while (since Pork Chop), when can we expect a new one?

@teeman92:

I don't think that we have crossed paths before, so let me start off by saying hello :-) Thanks so much for checking out my level and leaving feedback. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

If you want to improve as a creator, then just formulate an idea of what you want to do, and then work with it in the game. Use your idea to get used to the different tools and such. It will take time, and it will be painful for sure (Now and Then has me ripping out my hair and yelling at the PSP), but it is very rewarding once you figure it out :-)

Good luck with creating and thanks so much for the message!

Well, I've recently updated my Harry Potter level, which is now what I would call a 'full' level.

I will try to check that out tomorrow! I've been super busy lately since I am moving in 8 days plus I have the competition and a job interview tonight (oh! and don't forget the English camp that I work at every day ).

Once the interview is out of the way and I have the competition levels judged I will hopefully be free to check out awesome levels, and yours is officially at the top of my list :-)

Alrighty then! Heres my review:

I played Destiny 1 breifly and didn't enjoy it...you know why? I wasn't ready to sit down and read and actually bother to enjoy the level and the story.

30 Mins later (post dinner) I thought "hey now would be a good time to actually play the level properly, afterall number 2 is now out xD"

Wow was I surpised (I guess I shouldn't be heh).

Very clever level dynamics, excellent use of switches triggers etc, and a really great story that you could get lost in completely. (Literally....-.- xD)
Music fit great etc, and I felt like I was playing as one of the captains in a startrek episode. Eitherway this post is about Destiny 2 not one, but since you have to play one first thought I'd just start with that xD. Long story short I rated it 5 stars, and hearted.

Downloading....
Done.

Now I started up Destiny 2...
The story AGAIN was great if not better than the first, I loved the idea of collecting effecting various parts of the level more than it did in the first, and although the formula was similar the gameplay was still great and enjoyable.
I was about to give up (because you can't save levels mid way on LBP), because I thought I had gone mad and was missing a planet (I didn't realise you could get down onto the gas planet, and actually aquire more stuff.) xD Eitherway I did, and then proceeded emmidiately to the desert planet, to complete the level. (Whoa not so fast, I got confused as to why I was still unable to get very far in the cave, untill I realised "hey MAYBE (just a hunch) I should go charge the time thing..." -.- <- ******. Anyway I did this and went back and completed the level, and loved it ALL!

Best Parts: Felt like I was "part of the team" which got me engrossed in the gameplay more. I liked the fact that on the gas planet, I was all smart and used the first fire balls to bounce me up onto the roof (Felt all clever heh).
Worst Part: I was a stupid ****** and died 100 times trying to get into the cave when quite clearly I needed to charge the time thingy xD.

Anyway I know this is a somewhat unorthodox post, but eitherway I loved it even more than the first and rated 5 stars and a heart.

>>>Now eagerly anticipating destiny 3! ;P<<<

@timecatcher:

Thanks so much for that awesome feedback! You call it unorthodox but I think that anyone would love to get feedback that compares two of their levels like that. It really helps to see what it is that you liked about both, and also to show what things stood out to you as improvements so that I can try to focus on the correct things for future levels. Big thanks to you for giving all this info :-D

I played Destiny 1 breifly and didn't enjoy it...you know why? I wasn't ready to sit down and read and actually bother to enjoy the level and the story.

When I read this I figured that I was in for it. I saw how much text you had written and with a start like that I was sure you were going to go on and on about why you hate my level style Man was I pleased that that is not how things turned out!

I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed Destiny. I'm also happy that you decided to play it before playing the second one because I was unable to explain some of the controls that were explained in the first one simply because I wasn't allowed to include enough Magic Mouths in order to do so. I originally had a tutorial built in that was optional on the bridge of the ship, but I had to cut it because of level corruption issues due to too many magic mouths :-(

Now I started up Destiny 2...
The story AGAIN was great if not better than the first, I loved the idea of collecting effecting various parts of the level more than it did in the first, and although the formula was similar the gameplay was still great and enjoyable.

This is great to hear! It sounds like you felt that Destiny 2 improved over a lot of the concepts that I tried to establish in the first level. I wanted it to feel familiar and yet improved and that seems to be how it came across to you.

I'm actually surprised that more people have not complained about running into this problem. I did my best to tell the player to make sure to charge the devices throughout the level, and whenever I mention needing more devices I always said "charged devices", but I was fully aware that the wording might be completely overlooked. I'm sorry that it caused confusion, but I am glad that you figured it out in the end. The clock must have REALLY slowed down for you if you charged 4 devices at once You certainly played the hard version of the level by completing all of the challenges without slowing time down for yourself!

Best Parts: Felt like I was "part of the team" which got me engrossed in the gameplay more.

Your the first to mention this fact, but I am so that someone felt this way :-) I really wasn't able to flesh out the crew of Destiny2 in the original level, but I felt that I was able to give them a bit more personality with Jeff getting very frustrated with the accidental hyperspace jump, Jonze being irritated by everyone throwing things in the air-lock, Taffey always communicating with you on the planet and telling you about things Spark was doing on the ship. I wanted it to feel like the whole crew had different roles an they were really trying to help you. It is nice to hear that someone felt that it worked somewhat! Thanks for letting me know :-D

I liked the fact that on the gas planet, I was all smart and used the first fire balls to bounce me up onto the roof (Felt all clever heh).

Woo-hoo! I knew that it was possible to cheat the system and throw yourself up to the roof, and I decided to leave it simply because I was hoping that it would make the player feel clever if they figured it out (it took me a bunch of tests before I figured out that I could do it and I got a kick out of it ). It seems that most thought that it was an accident on my part, but I knew it was possible and I could have easily blocked it. It sort of sucks that no one is experiencing the lower path, but I would prefer to make the player feel clever over just having them play normally and not experiencing any emotion :-D

Thanks so much for the incredible feedback timecatcher!

Haha its cool mate, and sorry for the post, I clearly typed far too fast... I mean "emminantly"? ... heh. Oh and just an update I did "try" the lower path, however it was before I had got all of the charges, which meant I couldn't get very far, Im sure if I came back after the other 4 I would have been ok.

Great, level keep em coming! && Thanks for the post on my create mode troubles heh, I have a feeling theres going to be a lot more questions coming soon, with all of this cool stuff I see you and others doing.

P.S - Sorry for making it seem like I hated your level at first xD. I loved it 100%!

Man, I was so excited when I saw that I had a reply from you Lleonard, but I guess I'll have to wait for feedback :-) Now worries, it gives me some feedback to look forward to!

BTW, I really owe Domik for those incredible pictures. Usually I take pictures of my own and then he takes better pictures and I replace mine, but this time I just left it for him and he picked the EXACT spots that I wanted (I really wanted one of the asteroid/meteor shower and one of the Timing Structure mini-game, and he hit those out of the park!).

Thanks so much Domik!!!

Time to write the feedback!!
By the way, nice Stapler, but the Stapler I saw didn't look as quite awesome to the one in your avatar.

Anyways, to the real thing.
As soon as I started the level, I knew this level would be good. I mean, it had an awesome introduction just like the first Destiny level. Now that I'm back because of Spark teleported me. (I'm still in it.) I noticed it was the same ship, which is good. Instead of relearning a new thing, I already knew the controls. I'm glad I had the same feel. What makes this more better is the fact you are in a different dimension and get to travel over other planets. (3 planets and 1 moon)I thought you could travel to the moon near the sun, but I guess not.

As soon as I arrived to the first planet, I was amazed. New creatures that are intelligent. I don't remember story here, but I do know it had something to do with the fog and time sped up. Anyways, I met BlueBugBill, and I thought that was a smart idea. I wondered if any of your fans that haven't been on LBPC know you're using creators' names. Anyways, I then lead myself to the second planet. (Thanks to Taffey and Jeff, Oh yeah, didn't Jeff throw a fit to Taffey? Hahah) The second planet was new. It had two hourglasses and helped come across other planets. I liked this planet because the theme was very very different. Charging up those machines things to slow down time was an awesome thing to build. I messed up about 4 times then finally got it done.

The moon was awesome. I played the minigame to open up the bridge. I cheated it because I wasn't too familiar what I was doing, but I opened the bridge. I then noticed the dark matter. Originally you need 3-4 machine things, but I only had one. So I jumped to the last rock. (How'd I do that? As I was on that lump on the right, I timed my jump as soon as the last rock was ascending up past the fog. I got the dark matter.) Though I cheated. I end up giving BlueBugBill his Dark Matter, and now I had two machine things. Turning into three total when I turned them both in to the hourglass planet.

Now I arrive to the third planet. I liked how everything was fast until you turned those machines in. I got passed through those fiery balls and made my way to the fourth machine. I turned it in and realized I was missing a fifth one I think. I think it was another side quest, but who? I really wanted to get the second sidequest, but I didn't know where to find it. I also think this happened in Destiny 1. I only finished the Dark Matter side quest. Maybe I'm tripping, or I missed it. Anyways, hopefully you can help because I want to complete this level 100%. (But I didn't...)

I went through the fog area in the first planet and wow. This kevel was so long and amazing. I liked everything about it. A major change from part one. Also the planets and moon lasted longer than part one. That could be do to the fact of Part 1 having a space station.

Anyways, long level and long feedback. I guess I'll just rate you now.

Length: 5/5 (This level was very long... I don't know how you manage it.)
Material Usage: 5/5 (New Planets, New colors)
Sticker Work: 5/5 (Stickers melt into a fantasic landscape and a new creature too!)
Corner Editing: 5/5 (Your Corner Editing is Top-Notch, and it's true.)
Terrain/Mechanics: 5/5 (The new landscape to each planet made this level very different than part 1)
Story: (The story was long and great! Best part, it continues off part 1. )

Total: 30/30 Perfect Score! (Of coarse, you're AFP!)
You level was fantasic. I had a blast and enjoyed seeing your level.
Overall, I gave you 5 stars :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart. <3

That's it with the feedback. Until we meet again,
-Spark

Thanks dragonmember! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it, and it is awesome that the asteroid part was the part that stood out to you :-)

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback :-D

Uh-oh! I'm going to try to pull off this double post and leave the premises before someone calls the cops on me for double posting. We will see how I do

@Spark:

Thanks so much for the feedback! Your review feedback is just plain incredible! The fact that you actually include a score and cover the different elements of the level, and also give a walk through of your experience! You deserve a huge pat on the back :-)

By the way, nice Stapler, but the Stapler I saw didn't look as quite awesome to the one in your avatar.

Yeah, it didn't seem like that guys was actually going to give me one after all my hard work to get it, so when CS found me crying in a corner about it he was nice enough to give me this high tech one in my avatar that I can use to take over the world!

it had an awesome introduction just like the first Destiny level.

I'm glad that you liked the intro! I was pleased with how the layering worked on that. When I began building it, things weren't working out, but then something happened with the layering and I realized how I needed to build it to make it look good. LOL, there's no way that you wanted to know all of that stupid info about a static intro, but I just told you anyway

Now that I'm back because of Spark teleported me. (I'm still in it.)

Yup! You even get called by name later on in the level. When the player heads down to the planet where the fireballs are shooting everywhere, Taffey talks about how you (Spark) did your best to drop the player near the device :-) I really enjoyed using you guys as the characters and trying to add personalities to you in this level (I didn't really have much of a chance to do much talking with any of your characters last time since all the dialog was used to explain the controls and such).

Anyways, I then lead myself to the second planet. (Thanks to Taffey and Jeff, Oh yeah, didn't Jeff throw a fit to Taffey? Hahah)

Yup I was originally thinking of having Jeff say "##*&! What is going on!" and then have Taffey tell Jeff that the captain was on the bridge and then Jeff would regain his composure, but pulling off dialog like that in the level and actually having it work well would have been really tough and I don't think that a lot of people would understand. I think that it was still fun to have Taffey tell you over the intercom that Jeff was throwing a fit

I thought you could travel to the moon near the sun, but I guess not.

You cannot land on the moon, but it is involved in that side quest that you were missing.

Charging up those machines things to slow down time was an awesome thing to build. I messed up about 4 times then finally got it done.

It's good to hear that you found it challenging but got the hang of it! I wanted there to be a bit of a challenge, but I didn't want it to be irritating.

The moon was awesome. I played the minigame to open up the bridge. I cheated it because I wasn't too familiar what I was doing, but I opened the bridge.

It would be interesting to tally how many people cheated that and how many people played it. I know that it take a bit of time to learn it so I can understand cheating it, though if you are ever bored then you should give it a try and not cheat it because it really does work perfectly (I put a lot of time into making sure that it does). But no worries, I have heard from probably around 10 people that they cheated it.

So I jumped to the last rock. (How'd I do that? As I was on that lump on the right, I timed my jump as soon as the last rock was ascending up past the fog. I got the dark matter.)

LOL, you were just all about cheating weren't you Spark :-) I actually had it a lot easier to cheat on this before Jeff and Taffey tested it, but after talking to Jeff I decided to make it a lot harder to cheat. I think I understand what you did, but it is very hard to do that so I guess you deserve to cheat if you are going do something that skillful

Now I arrive to the third planet. I liked how everything was fast until you turned those machines in. I got passed through those fiery balls and made my way to the fourth machine.

You said you cheated at all the other areas, but this is the area where everyone has been "cheating" and you actually did it correctly. Nice :-D It's good to hear that someone did this part correctly, and I'm glad that you noticed how the fireballs slowed down. It is really hard to beat this part when you only have one device activated, but once you have 3 or 4 it is really easy.

If you are still interested, then next time you play it just head back up to the bug inside the rock on the desert planet any time after you activate the first device. He will start you on the quest which leads you to that planet by the sun. You will also get to interact with Jonze a bit :-D

I went through the fog area in the first planet [/QUOTE

So you managed to beat it with only 4 activated devices? That is good to hear. I think that there is plenty of time to beat it with 4 devices if you just sprint through, and it actually might be more fun that way since there is a little risk. When you get all 5 devices you have maybe 10 times more time then you actually need. I think that it is impossible to beat with only 3 devices though.

[QUOTE]Also the planets and moon lasted longer than part one. That could be do to the fact of Part 1 having a space station.

You are exactly right. There was a lot of stuff in that space station including the sleeping pods, multiple types of character, many of which had changing dialog, a complex background, and that big stature memorial for Destiny. I think it was really good to have the space station since it gave a good starting point for the series, but it helped me to include more areas to actually play in when I didn't have 1/4 of the thermo sucked up by it.

Thanks again for the awesome feedback Spark!

It was delayed to write a feedback.
This level was very cool and everything was wonderful.
The design and mechanism.

If I could read English, it may be the one which could be enjoyed more.
It's the English proficiency because it's so, I don't have that, I felt sad.
I gave you 5 stars and a <3

Wow... first off I'd like to say that this could easily turn into a trilogy. The story is good and I really want to see the space station again.

Like I said the story was good, and because you moved the story on it gained some well appreciated gameplay devices. The time slowing down was greatly displayed by the clock (small details can go far!). The only thing that bugged me was the asteroids still fell at the same speed even though you slowed down time. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Again, we had the side quests but I feel that if another Destiny level is made, perhaps have one or two side quests that aren't compulsory. This will give the player more sense of achievement.

The new planets felt fresh and new, and they each had a difficult element to each of them. By the way, I loved the Guitar Hero-esque moment. I got the controls quite quickly.

All in all, you've astounded me yet again! I hope you make a third Destiny

5 stars and a heart as usual

Thank you so much for all of the replies. I plan on replying to them very soon but I have been so busy with the Triathlon Competition that I just don't have time right now I really want to return the favor and leave feedback for some of your levels (those of you who have recently published levels from the last few weeks). I really will do my best to get to that before I head off next week, and I'll try to get a reply up here tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the support!

On that post you said that were working on something that was similar to my speed changing element part of my level and I didn't realize that was destiny 2! Hey Poo, well I wanted the waters to settle down a little before I gave you my feedback.

This level was incredible. I loved every minute of it, and it took a few minutes to finish. This was the most time I have ever spent playing a level. I don't know how you do eighty percent of what you do in your levels. After something by you, one of my simple platformers look...... pretty simple. I can only imagine the logic you used in this. My head hurts thinking about it. Once again I loved exploring the universe you created. All the planets and moons were diverse and fun. My favorite part of the level was shooting the asteroids while the AI advanced the bridge. Powering up the relics was a hoot. It gave me a sense of satisfaction to see another light appear, and knowing I was another step closer to getting inside that cave.

Thanks for the shout out again, I loved my dialogue.

I can't say much more that hasn't been said, so I will just say thank you. Thanks for making these levels for us to play. You are one of a kind and I hope you never stop creating.

Great job my friend!!

OK, I forgot to leave this here yesterday but I wanted to tell you something.
I was replaying your level and I collected every device without charging any up (including the moon by the sun) But when I went to charge them I would complete the charge process but it wouldn't work. This is a pretty serious problem, I was unable to complete the level even though I had all the devices.

@hphzq966:

Thanks so much for the feedback! I have always been curious if my levels would even be possible to play for someone who has difficulty with English. I really appreciate that you still rated the level well! Thanks so much for checking it out anyway :-)

@Swedes:

The story is good and I really want to see the space station again.

I am sorry that I couldn't include the space station in Destiny 2. It takes up a lot of thermo (I think over 1/4 of the entire thermo) because of all the details (Destiny memorial, detailed background, elevator, sleeping pods, etc...). I would love to include it in more levels, but it doesn't seem worth the cost to the thermo. I do think that it was worth it in the first level since it was used to set up the plot :-)

The only thing that bugged me was the asteroids still fell at the same speed even though you slowed down time. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That was a good catch on your part. I actually have a piston system working in the background which helps to make the asteroids to have their randomness (so there isn't a pattern to what the order of the colors are). I have the main piston slow down with time, and I had anticipated that this would cause the meteors to come out less, but I think that it doesn't have all that much of an effect. I messed with it a bit and decided to leave it as it is. There is a timing effect on it, but it just doesn't seem to cause much of a change. Sorry that it doesn't slow down as much as I would like :-(

Again, we had the side quests but I feel that if another Destiny level is made, perhaps have one or two side quests that aren't compulsory. This will give the player more sense of achievement.

In the first Destiny you did not need to do any of the side quests. In the beta version that Jeff and Taffey tested you either had to be incredible at platforming or you had to do the side quests and they didn't like that all that much so I made it so you didn't have to do any of the side quests and it was still not too hard to beat it.

On Destiny 2 I had planned to do the same thing, but since there are only 5 items to collect, I felt that allowing the player to only collect 3 would make the level seem much smaller than it is. I could be wrong about this, but it is just how I felt. I warned the player that they may need to do side quests to be able to finish the level. You can certainly finish with only 4 devices activated, but it is really easy to finish with 5 activated. I'm sorry that you cannot beat it with 3.

By the way, I loved the Guitar Hero-esque moment. I got the controls quite quickly.

Woo-hoo! That is awesome to hear :-) I am so glad that you enjoyed that part since it is my favorite part of the level!

Yeah, I started work on Destiny 2 very soon after Destiny (within weeks), but then I took a break, picked it back up again, quit again to build Here and There, and then finally got back to it and finished it. The clock part was one of the very first things that I built because it was what I wanted the level to be based around it, and if I couldn't make it well then there wasn't much of a point in making the level. So back when I messaged you long ago, I really just had the clock in my level, but I knew that it was going to play a huge part in Destiny 2 :-)

@VelcroJonze (AKA: My Nemesis):

Hidy Ho VJ! Thanks so much the the detailed feedback :-D It is awesome to hear that you enjoyed the level!

This was the most time I have ever spent playing a level.

My favorite part of the level was shooting the asteroids while the AI advanced the bridge.

YES!!! I am so happy to hear this!!! I was so worried that everyone would just button mash this part to cheat to beat it, and they would be missing out on the best part of the whole level if they did that! Thanks so much for taking the time to figure it out, and I am very happy that you enjoyed it :-D

Powering up the relics was a hoot. It gave me a sense of satisfaction to see another light appear, and knowing I was another step closer to getting inside that cave.

You're the first person who has talked about the sense of accomplishment that comes with activating a device, and I am glad that you felt this way and mentioned it to me. I really wanted it to feel like you were accomplishing something since you needed to collect it, activate it, and then you were given a visual representation that you had done something (the light). On top of that, everything just got easier for you, so now you can have an easier time at progressing! It's good to hear that you got a sense of satisfaction!

Thanks for the shout out again, I loved my dialogue.

I'm very glad to have you on there :-) I actually had to drop one of the magic mouths for your character because I had too many magic mouths. At the start of the level you were supposed to complain about the fact that the Fate Technology had been stowed in your air lock since it makes you nervous to have it so near (since there is a legend that anyone who touches it will meet certain doom). I wish I could have kept that, but it, as well as around 5 other magic mouths for other characters, had to go :-(

Thanks so much for the awesome feedback VJ!

@robotiod:

Ouch! This is about the worst thing that I could hear right now I know exactly what you are talking about, and I even know exactly what is happening, but I have no idea why it is happening. I had the issue during my beta with Taffey and Jeff (I think Taffey ran into the issue when he tried activating two devices at a time), so I made sure that it couldn't happen. Oddly enough, the mechanic that causes the charging to actually do anything is based off of small glass cylinders falling into a glass reservoir. It is really hard to explain, but to say it simply, the reservoir is only 1 cylinder thick. When you activate the devices, a block which is blocking the reservoir disappears and this allows the cylinders to fall into place in the reservoir and this causes time to slow down (and the light to light up). The cork then re-emits and you are back to stage 1 but you have some cylinders in reservoirs.

The issue is that if you have multiple cylinders trying to fall into the reservoir at once then they can block eachother. This really should be possible since everything is made out of glass and they should just slide past eachother. I reshaped some things and tried to make it absolutely impossible for a jamming issue to happen after hearing that Taffey had problems. I tested it again and again because I was worried about it. I tried activating 1, 2, 3, and 4 devices at a time. It probably actually matters what order you collect them in as well, so there are a lot of scenarios to take into account, but after my modification I just couldn't imagine the physics screwing up. I guess I was wrong, but I have high hopes that it is only an odd-ball scenario or a unique case that you ran into.

The sad part is that I just don't have time to mess with it. As you may already know, I am moving from China to America in 6 days. I still need to clean the house, pack, and work at an English camp next week, so my schedule is completely insane. I am going to be on the LBP forums a bit more in the next few days as I am finishing up the Vehicle Triathlon, but except for that I just can't spend much more time on anything. Trying to work out that issue would take me hours. I would need to test every scenario over and over again to see if I could ever make it mess up, and then if it did mess up, I would need to change something and then retest every scenario. I would then most likely need to replace some winches and springs that ended up screwing themselves up since they tend to so that whenever I modify the level....

I just don't have time for this. I really hope that this doesn't lower your opinion of me as a creator. This is an odd circumstance seeing as I am not commonly making an international move withing a a week and a half of publishing a level. I hope that you understand and thanks so much for letting me know about the issue!

@ poo, I believe it probably was just a weird scenario, I know that others said they charged all of them at once. I couldn't think that you are any less of a creator, personally I would of said I don't want my plays and hearts resetting

Hopefully no one will bump into this and rate down your level but its something that first play through probably wont happen anyone.

@robotiod:

This is certainly true, I really don't want to see them resetting, but at the same time, if the level breaks for the player, I would always test it over and over again after hearing about the issue to see if it is going to happen again to someone else, and if I found out it would then I would reset the hearts and plays because I never want to have a level that someone could play all the way through just to have it break in the end.

Thanks so much for letting me know about the problem, and I'm glad you understand

AFP,

This is not your average everyday level. This is a five course meal with desert and coffee afterwards. Your ability to squeeze so much variety in such intricate levels amazes me. Not only did I get a engaging story, you gave us complex play mechanics as well. The meteor bridge and charging were expertly crafted and fun. The four new locations were very well made and each distinctively different. Everything was put together seamlessly and kept me playing through until the end.

I can't wait for the next chapter!

PS: Thanks for not having me drop down to the scoreboard in the cave. I would have been bummed since I had one more machine to power up.

WOAAAAAH! I loved the first one, but I think I like this one better.

I only managed to find one side quest... or I think so. The one with dark matter, what is the other one?
Also, when I went to that moon with the dark matter, and then went to the planet with the time machine thingy, I could trigger a magic mouth by pressing triangle, which kinda ruined the feel of the level because of me seeing how it is built... but I did see some logic there

Umm... I don't think I should say anything more
:star::star::star::star::star: and <3

EDIT: Oh... one more minor flaw, the controls on the spaceship are kinda inaccurate, the jump a little when I walk past it which makes me go out of orbit, which is also a little frurstrating...

@Xenon:

To start off with, I am going to honestly say that I was a bit worried about publishing within a day of you publishing Ted & Robi. I didn't want people to compare the two levels because in all honesty, I'm not sure Destiny 2 could win :-) It turns out that both levels were well accepted and as usual, my worrying was for nothing.

It's really great to hear that you enjoyed the level, and I appreciate the kind words about it.

The meteor bridge and charging were expertly crafted and fun.

I am happy anytime I can read feedback that the meteor bridge worked fine! I was really worried about it, and it is good to hear that some people are playing it correctly instead of just button mashing, and they are experiencing what I meant for them to (and all of my time on it is not waisted).

It is also great to hear that you liked the charging game. That was one of the first things that I came up with for the level, and that was sort of the catalyst that got me into building it.

As for your PS, I hadn't even thought of it helping in that way I just wanted to make sure that the player got to see the Fate Technology and hear Taffey make that comment about it since it is significant to the story. It's cool that it worked out to help you be able to get the final device without needing to play the level through another time!

Thanks so much for the feedback Xenon, and congratulations on that incredible level of yours :-D

@Napero7:

I loved the first one, but I think I like this one better.

That's awesome to hear! One of my biggest worries was that people would compare the 2 and say that I didn't make a good sequel.

I only managed to find one side quest... or I think so. The one with dark matter, what is the other one?

The other one is activated if you go back to the chief bug in the rock and talk to him after to activate the first device. He will mention another device to you. You ran under him multiple times when you did the Dark Matter side quest, but you need to actually climb up there and talk to him :-)

Also, when I went to that moon with the dark matter, and then went to the planet with the time machine thingy, I could trigger a magic mouth by pressing triangle, which kinda ruined the feel of the level because of me seeing how it is built... but I did see some logic there

Yeah, it really sucks that that is an issue :-( I'm sorry if it hampered the experience for you.

Thanks so much for checking out my level and leaving feedback!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I still can't believe how much the PSP community has grown and is growing. I have been gone for less than a week an there are already a number of people who are new :-)

@Joruto:

LOL, I got a huge kick out of reading what you said, and then finding out that you had played Destiny instead of Destiny 2! It's good to hear that you liked both of them and I really appreciate that you would try both of them out!

It's great to hear that you got a new PSP and are back in the game again :-D

@Jeffcu28:

Thanks so much for the feed back. Without you this level would have not been published because I had already given up on it due to the corruption messages that I was getting. Thanks so much for taking the hours that it took us to pick the level apart and solve the issue!

As with Destiny, I thought this level was a masterpiece. The visuals are beautiful, the concept fresh as ever, and really, almost everything about it is unique, inventive, and all in all really fun. I’m so sorry I only posted this now :blush:. That tends to happen when I like a level so much and want to make sure that I say everything I have to say about it.

Story

Storylines truly are your specialty, particularly in the way you manage to integrate them into the mechanics of your level. In Destiny 2, the plot adds to that of the original and mixes in quite seamlessly with the gameplay. The time-manipulation mechanics, for instance, work just as nicely for helping the race of bug-things, as the heat-resistance did for Destiny. Speaking of the bugs, they’re well designed and interesting. I really like the stickers you chose for them.

It’s also cool how Taffey and Jeff and everyone seem to have had some funny new character development as well.

Setting

The original universe of Destiny has expanded so much here. The new moons and planets are awesome. I like the one with the hourglass structure best partly because the structure looks so cool and partly because the landscape is so pretty. The planet of BlueBugBill and the rest of the bug-things is equally impressive. Your choice of materials and all the details like corner edited trees and tents (I like how you attached string to them to make them look hung) make for a convincing desert. The lava planet, I liked a little less, only because I insisted in going while everything was still so fast and my sackperson got cooked.

Each of the planets has qualities that make it distinct and different from the rest and that makes everything so much fun to explore. The mini-games you placed in some of them only add to this. Actually, while there really is a lot to like, the mini-games were my favorite part.

Mechanics

Honestly, this level has to be one of the cleverest I have ever seen. The mechanics that made the original Destiny so memorable are still here, but added to and improved upon. Especially in the mini-games. It’s slightly tedious to have return to the hourglass-planet all the time but the charging mini-game is fun enough to make it worth it (another reason why I like that planet best).

The destroy-the-asteroids mini-game was cool as well. I found it a bit hard to remember the controls (even with the guide), but it was fun once I learned it. It was also a cool way to make Taffey participate more in the story.

There was only one problem. Once, I sort of had an accident with the drop-ship and couldn’t get back to it and had to restart. It never happened again, though.

Summary

As mentioned earlier, Destiny 2 is really clever, really well made, and really fun. The platforming is exciting, the mini-games are amazing and there really is a lot to find and explore. It’s an incredibly large and very well-rounded level. I gave you a heart and five stars a long time ago (when I should have left feedback ….

Thanks so much for mentioning me again! I appreciate it as much as ever . And congratulations on the Spotlight!

I almost never play psp levels but as i know you are such a great ps3 level creator i thought i had to play this. Your level was exceptional, i loved the visuals and the game-play. My only objection is that for being such a good creator you should try doing a level with all the layers at all time and no only one, this might give your level a little bit more of dynamic visuals or game-play.

Good job, and congrats for the spotlight.

It really is awesome, but the ships steering broke on me the first time I played. Has this been fixed? Anyways, I'll try and complete it, then give a full review. It's really good so far tho!2010-07-26 17:38:00

Well, Im not a new sack in LBPC, but I have been a long time out of here.
However, HELLO AGAIN POO!
Destiny 2 is much better than the first part for me and you broke the main problem with sequels: to be better than the original.
I think that navigate through the galaxy is much intuitive here and your variety of minigames is bigger.
Visuals are really cool and design of scenarios is great.
Mechanics still great like the first part.
And story talks by itself, you are a pro in this part.
I just have one problem, I had to restart the level two times because when the transporter landed on a planet, the impact killed me and I appear in the spaceship checkpoint, then I was unable to go to the planet and continue playing.
Everything else was great.
You already know this part but im going to write it anyway:

WOW! Thanks so much for all of the feedback everyone :-D

@Phalaina:

Thanks for the incredible feedback! That was better than most in depth reviews that I read :-D

I?m so sorry I only posted this now . That tends to happen when I like a level so much and want to make sure that I say everything I have to say about it.

No worries :-) It's nice to still have feedback coming in, and it's extra special since it is something so in-depth!

In Destiny 2, the plot adds to that of the original and mixes in quite seamlessly with the gameplay. The time-manipulation mechanics, for instance, work just as nicely for helping the race of bug-things, as the heat-resistance did for Destiny.

I'm glad that you feel this way. I have had one complaint that there wasn't enough story progression in Destiny 2, but I wanted the events to hint and things that are happening rather then spell it all out for the player. It is great to hear that you feel that it is a good progression! I'm also happy to hear that you enjoyed the time-manipulation mechanic and drew parallels to it from the heat mechanic. I didn't want it to feel the same, but I wanted it to feel like an evolution, and you seemed to have gotten that feeling :-)

The lava planet, I liked a little less, only because I insisted in going while everything was still so fast and my sackperson got cooked.

Yeah, I wondered if people would just keep plowing into that section and get irritated at it. I did my best to have Taffey warn them that it might not be a good idea to go in before having enough activated devices, but it can be hard to not try to just plow through. Sorry it irritated you. It's good to hear that you really enjoyed the other planets though!

Actually, while there really is a lot to like, the mini-games were my favorite part.

That's fantastic! I was really excited about the minigames, and I wanted them and the time mechanic to make this level really stand out from the rest. It is great to hear that they stood out for you and were your favorite part :-D

The mechanics that made the original Destiny so memorable are still here, but added to and improved upon. Especially in the mini-games.

WOO-HOO! That is wonderful to hear. Like I said, I wanted this level to feel like an evolution of the 1st which has improved upon its foundation, and that seems to be the vibe I am getting from you :-D

It's slightly tedious to have return to the hourglass-planet all the time but the charging mini-game is fun enough to make it worth it (another reason why I like that planet best).

You are actually the first person to mention that this is a bit tedious, and I was really expecting a lot of people to complain about it. I am glad that you were honest and let me know, because I need to be careful about not making a level feel tedious. I was hoping that the sense of accomplishment from winning the mini-game again, seeing the next light appear, and having time slow down would warrant the extra trip to the planet, and make it seem like a much larger accomplishment. I'm glad that the mini-game at least made it feel worth it sort of!

The destroy-the-asteroids mini-game was cool as well. I found it a bit hard to remember the controls (even with the guide), but it was fun once I learned it. It was also a cool way to make Taffey participate more in the story.

Thanks for working with it even though it is hard to get used to at first. It was hard for me to gauge if it would be too hard for people to wrap their heads around, but when I had the level beta tested I found out that it was a bit tougher than I had hoped. I am glad that people are still learning it and able to enjoy it after they try it out a bit. I'm sorry about the learning curve.

There was only one problem. Once, I sort of had an accident with the drop-ship and couldn?t get back to it and had to restart. It never happened again, though.

I'm guessing that the drop ship killed you when you were riding it? That seems to be the common problem that people are experiencing and it is driving me crazy. The last thing in the world that I want is for people to have to restart the level, especially since it is somewhat long! I have NO idea why the drop ship kills people every once and a while. It seems random and somewhat rare for it to happen (it only happened to me once out of the 100's of times that I tested the level, and when it happened I went into create and tried my hardest to figure out what happened and it just didn't make any sense). The drop ship doesn't fall that quickly, and there are no hazards along the way, so I have no idea what could be causing people to die, but it certainly does happen. I'm very sorry about the problem and it is sad that I am forced to just say that it is due to the instabilities of the PSP.

Thanks so much for mentioning me again! I appreciate it as much as ever

Thank you for having an awesome name

@ferrrch:

Thanks so much for coming over to the PSP side of things to check my level out. That was very nice of you and it is always great to hear from someone who is mainly on the PS3 side of LBP!

You said some very nice things, and I really appreciate them (!), but I am only going to reply to the negative comment that you made because I would feel rather big-headed to be responding the very nice things you said I really am glad that you liked the level!

My only objection is that for being such a good creator you should try doing a level with all the layers at all time and no only one, this might give your level a little bit more of dynamic visuals or game-play.

I'm a bit confused about what you are saying. I assume that you are aware that we only have 2 thick layers on PSP, so if I need to have things going on in the background in a thick layer, then I can only have the player in the front thick layer. You see a lot of this on the ship, because I have things going on in the background due to the ship flying around.

On the plants, I tried to use both layers, and I am actually pretty happy with my layering abilities. I am by far not the best artist and creator at layering, but I think that I do a decent job considering what we have to work with on PSP. On the asteroid mini-game I was a bit restricted because I couldn't allow the player to have a back layer to climb across and cheat, the middle thin layer had the asteroids falling through it, the back thin layer was used to make it look like space (it tends to look so-so to try to corner edit space into the background designs because it doesn't always meet up very well).

I'm sorry to hear that you think that my layering is not very good. I always encourage new creators to mess with layering since it is the key to a good looking and good playing level. If you have the chance to try out a level like "A Dingo Down Under", then hopefully you will think that I can layer in a level that has a design that allows it.

@PaddyJ:

It really is awesome, but the ships steering broke on me the first time I played. Has this been fixed? Anyways, I'll try and complete it, then give a full review. It's really good so far tho!

Hidy Ho PaddyJ! Thanks so much for checking out the level. I am very sorry to hear that the vehicle steering broke on you. I know that the drop ship can somehow kill the player (though I have no idea why or how), but I didn't know that the ship flight controls could break. I have never gotten a message about that before. I would guess that it was just an oddball issue that was a result of the level loading badly. I'm very sorry that you had an issue :-( Thanks so much for playing the level and hopefully your future experiences with it will be better!

@rOckalOvEr x73:

Destiny 2 is much better than the first part for me and you broke the main problem with sequels: to be better than the original.

Woo-hoo! It's great to hear that you felt that way. I really wanted this level to feel like an improvement over the first!

You had a lot of awesome things to say, and I appreciate that, but I am going to quote the one negative because I would feel like I am showing off if I quoted all of that kind stuff :-)

I just have one problem, I had to restart the level two times because when the transporter landed on a planet, the impact killed me and I appear in the spaceship checkpoint, then I was unable to go to the planet and continue playing.

Wow, that is not good at all D-: I replied to this issue earlier in this post, but it certainly applies here as well. I only experienced that issue once in my many, many tests of the level, and after experiencing it, I went back into create and tried to figure out what caused it and I could not figure it out. The time that it happened to me was on the fiery planet, and when you land there you slide along on an incline and have a very soft landing, so it makes no sense why it would even kill you. I can only assume that it has to do with sackboy switching to the back plane as the drop ship reaches the landing and then he gets crushed as he is switching. I messed with the level of the back plane there, but I could never reproduce the issue so I had no idea if I fixed it or not.

I have had a few reports about the issue, but I hoped that it was a rare problem since I couldn't even reproduce it. The fact that you experienced it twice (!!!) is very troubling. I am so sorry about that, and if it's worth anything, I at least did my best to fix the problem and thought that I had.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

poo! Wow, page 11 and finally I make an appearance - I think this is a new record for me.

I have owed you proper feedback on this level for quite a while now, so my apologies for not getting to this sooner. Between standard work insanity, camping trips, relatives in town, a re-addiction to Patapon 2, and a new level kicking and screaming to get out of my PSP, I just haven't done as much LBPC stuff as I would have liked in the past couple weeks. But enough about that. Let's get started!

Well the very first thing I like about this level is how much of a perfect sequel it is to Destiny 1. I loved immediately feeling right at home on a familiar ship, but the prospect of having a whole new set of adventures and missions ahead of me the first time I played this was just really exciting. Heck, it's still exciting now - I honestly can't stop replaying this level. Being the space head that I am, of course I love all things Star Trek. It really impresses me exactly how much the Destiny series feels like the same type of space adventure, where you're off exploring new worlds and hunting down mission objectives. The free-roaming nature of the level (and of many of your levels) is really a huge plus in my book. That's something I have a very difficult time creating myself, which is why all of my levels are very linear. The ability to go back at forth, especially at your own free will, turns LBP into a whole new game.

Anyway, the worlds you created are spectacular - even better than those in part 1. They each have a totally different look, feel, and gameplay style, and that's really what makes this such a unique overall experience. As you travel between the worlds you have to change not just what you're doing but how you're doing it. And speaking of the how... I love the minigames you've made! Every single one of them is really entertaining, from the magnetic platforming to charging up time devices to the meteor rhythm game. Ok ok, yes I know that I cheated like crazy on the meteor game when I first beta'ed this level for you, but hey, I was anxious to see more of the level. I have since played this a bunch more times and once I got used to the controls it plays very well and is really entertaining. Each little part of this level could be a whole survival challenge in itself, which is just brilliant. The story in this level is fantastic and is a great extension to the series, just as the rest of the level is. I'm really looking forward to exploring more of the universe you've constructed and discovering the rest of the story.

I don't have many negatives in this level to complain about. There is a small amount of lag but really it's not very noticeable at all. I think you did a great job of optimizing this level, and considering how much ABSURDLY COMPLEX logic you have running in the background I'm frankly amazed it works at all! The mission-based gameplay is hard, but in a good way. I found myself somewhat stuck the first time I played this because it seemed that everywhere I went I needed more time devices before I'd be able to get any further in the level. Of course there's a way to do it but it just takes some exploring to find the correct path. My last complaint is, where is part 3? I know, not really a complaint but I just have to drop that in there

GREAT stuff here poo - pure awesome sauce. Obviously 5 stars and a heart. Love it!

Oh, and F4F is not necessary at all - this is feedback I've owed you for far too long!

Woo-hoo! It's Taffey feedback!

Thanks so much for that in-depth feedback Taffey :-) It's always nice to hear something new once a level has started fading in popularity, so I was delighted to see that you left such incredibly in depth feedback!

You were very helpful with this level in many ways, and I owe you a great big thanks for that! Not only did you beta test it multiple times, but you also helped me for well over an hour to try to get the level publishable after I had already given up. Thanks so much for that!

I don't want to respond to all of the very kind things that you said, because it wouldn't feel right to be quoting all of that, so I will just say thanks for all of those kind words. I am so happy that you enjoy this series and the level structure that has been created. It really made me smile to read all of that :-)

There is a small amount of lag but really it's not very noticeable at all. I think you did a great job of optimizing this level, and considering how much ABSURDLY COMPLEX logic you have running in the background I'm frankly amazed it works at all!

I was a bit disappointed that there was lag at all since I managed to get rid of it in the first level, but there were areas where I just couldn't avoid it. I managed to make whatever it was that was causing the lag to be stationary when you are far away, but when you get close it is supposed to move, so the lag is just going to happen :-(

The mission-based gameplay is hard, but in a good way. I found myself somewhat stuck the first time I played this because it seemed that everywhere I went I needed more time devices before I'd be able to get any further in the level. Of course there's a way to do it but it just takes some exploring to find the correct path.

I was a bit worried about always warning the player that they might want to get a few more activated devices before progressing through an area. I was saying it so that the player would realize that they could always try something else. Some might find the meteor game easier, some might find the fire cave easier, and if those are too hard, then I was hoping that they would run across the side mission for the moon near the sun. I just wanted the player to know that there is a path that was possible to find which made the level very easy. This way the level could be pretty challenging but the player could follow their own path, or it could be very easy, but the player would need to use a specific path.

I can see how this could make it seem like you are always doing things wrong since I am always warning that you need more activated devices. Hopefully it won't turn too many people away :-)

Thanks so much for the feedback Taffey!

Actually i think you didn't understand my comment cause i think you make an awesome job in all your levels when is about layering and corner edit tool but what i meant is that in this level i thought in one part that it was a bit repetitive but... never mind your level was epic!2010-08-06 15:30:00

No worries :-) I really appreciate the feedback. I have always been a bit lacking on decoration in my opinion because it just isn't my strong suit, though I have done my very best to make everything look as good as possible.

I appreciate the honest feedback :-D

Hidy Ho Crazy! Thanks for letting me know about the problem. So, was the pod up in Destiny2 and you could somehow slip past it? Or did you die while the pod was down and then when you spawned up there you could jump down without the pod?

Either way it sucks. The biggest issue that people have been having is when they die while the pod is transporting them. It's really too bad that there have been so many problems with that pod. I tested it over and over again and Jeff and Taffey were kind enough to test it, and I think that only Taffey experienced a problem and I couldn't really recreate it or figure out why it even happened.

I apologize for the issue :-(

Thanks so much for playing!

Hidy Ho carlosgrss! Thanks so much for the kind words and for checking out my level :-) I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

I have plans for Destiny 3, but I haven't started building yet. The LBP2 beta is out in EU now, and I am hoping that it finds it way over to NA in the next few days and I'll be sinking a lot of time into that. I really would like to make a Destiny 3, but there were a lot of people who were a bit disappointed that I made a sequel since I preach that people should work on making a variety of levels and then I went and made a sequel.

In my defense, I had build Destiny to make sequels based off of it, plus I said that it was supposed to be a series, so I probably shouldn't let the nay-sayers get me down. I'm sure I will make the 3rd one in the future, but I think it will be much different than what anyone is expecting
