The Maze (Lv 1)

The Maze (Lv 1)spoony_bard4
A three part maze/race that serves as level one of three. Several different routes get you to the finish, but some paths become very challenging.
Second level I've made, and I was wanting to get some feedback. Willing to play through a few levels. I have some ideas for level 2 in this series, but I want to know I have a decent thing going before I commit to making levels 2 and 3.

I love being the first to play a level! I had a good time playing this but then I got real frustrated at the lack of checkpoints in the second race and quit. The toughness of the obstacle s was satisfying and fun, it was just annoying having to go so far back after dyeing.

Likes:

Most of the obstacles are very fun and their toughness is well balanced.
Maze format is interesting, I like the multiple path and how that factors into your top score.


Suggestions:

Needs way more material variation, lighting, decorations, camera direction, day/night control, etc.
Way more checkpoints
Warning as to where the obstacles are coming from, a lot of those electrified logs come out of nowhere with no warning.


Looks the start to a good level but I think its a little frustrating in its current state, I would love to try again if you ever update it.

Thanks. I've already implemented several of the changes you suggested (I only added one more save point in section 2; there were 3 others, but I noticed the middle route did not have a respawn point). I was thinking I would see if anyone else had any suggestions before I posted these changes online though. I'm wondering if the title might be off-putting to players online. Most of the big-hit levels are along the lines of SUPER-BIG-XTREME-ZOMBIE-PONY-SURVIVAL. Do titles like that really work to draw in people?
