Wow, these are some of my favourite visuals I have seen in LBP.
Definitely unique, as not many people even go near semi-circles because of the thermo. But boy, I will never make that mistake again.

This is the 5th part in my Lady Masquette-series: a story level with platforming and puzzling elements. And the ending is multiple choice this time around After this the story will branch out.

Comments very welcome. Please enjoy.

Hey, you're getting better! Your corner editing and scenery have improved alot!

A few things:

1. Some of the corners could've been edited a bit more. Some of the parts looked spiky(I don't mean the stalactites)

2. The cavern at the start was a bit confusing. I kept going round in circles. Maybe some arrows?

3. Needs some more foliage/decoration. Caves do have moss and mushrooms growing in them!

4. In the technology themed part of the level the platforms were very rounded. This isn't a very good idea, as the yare very hard to stand on

5. The enemies were a bit boring. They didn't have moving arms etc. or have an attack they were just walking electrified things.

6. Use enemies sparingly. There was a room where there was about 9 enemies one after the other. They kinda piled up

7. At parts it seemed like you should of used a permanent switch. If you don't know about logic and stuff, just add me on psn and I'll show you

Sorry if that seemed like a lot of things. This is a good level!

Yes I agree aswell to what PaddyJ said about the beginning . It was very confusing as a lot off passages were hidden behind other scenery. Another solution to directing people that is more subtle then arrows is have different, attracting lighting. Most of the beginning of your level is lighted with cold blues and greens. try lighting the way to go with warmer yellows. After all that is the quest of your level to find the light of day again right?2010-07-10 21:15:00

I liked the confusing passages - I assumed that was the point. I like a level that makes me hunt a bit for the solution. This is another enjoyable level from pickled-punk. we enjoyed the visuals a lot and the variety in gameplay was good. I agree with the criticism on the bad guys - they can't hurt me - whats the point? there was a lot of original stuff here - like the raising and lowering walls (where the gaps line up).

I'm definately a fan of yours. keep it up.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!

Indeed the caverns at the beginning with its hidden passages should be a bit of a maze. But I'll play around ad experiment with the lightning a bit.

I planned the drones to be rather pathetic enemies. I was hoping the player would feel bad after killing such feeble enemies. (Hopefully the sackbots from LBP2 will provide better tools for creating melancholy NPC's? )

I just fixed some stuff and republished. Global lightning had strangely changed in the published version, so it's darker now. As it should be.

Also: most players I've heard from tend to go for the first ending. (The second one is nearby, only slightly more hidden.)

Was some of the level inspired from the "unown" from pokemon? They looked kind of similar, and the level had some radio static as well.
Loved the shifting structure, and all the other little things that are too numourous to mention.
I thought the cave was annoying at first, but I'm guessing your levels are about the exploration.
5 stars, level heart, creator heart!

Just played another level of yours, the cardboard/back-to-front one. That's really original too.

Cool, thanks Midnight!

I'm a complete Pokemon-n00b,(well, not complete, I know Pikachu comes from the same country as Dragonball and Shin Chan...) but the 'unknown' are really unkown to me.

By the way: the next installment in my story (part 6B) is almost done.
(I still got a quarter of thermometer to spare, but I keep getting the ominous message that some areas are to complex. What's that all about!!)

Thanks, Grim-421. I experimented with the lighting in the beginning and republished. The way to go is somewhat more clear, I think.2010-07-16 19:26:00

Gave this a quick couple of playthroughs earlier.

People have already covered what I wanted to say so I'll keep it short.

The cave section at the start really could benifit from some better lighting - I enjoy the puzzling challenge of getting out of there, but I don't enjoy doing it in the dark.

I love the whole rounded design of the level, especially the background sections, they gave a real alien circuitry feel to the level. I've not played any of the prequels so I don't know anything about the plot. But still this level stands on it's own as a solid bit of gameplay.

Speaking of the gameplay - It was great!

I think layers may have been used slightly too much (a lot of jumping back and forth) but the mechanics of it were fun. I especially liked the section with the square holes cut into the background.

A few problems I found:

* The music - I just don't get it? most of it is fine and fitting but the random saxophone solo really brings you out of the experience. It simply doesn't seem to match the level.
* The speech bubble that appears when you unlock the dopple-door has a small typo
* On the section with the square holes there is a small drop in near the middle of the puzzle. I fell into here and try as hard as I might couldn't jump onto the block I needed to get out.

Overall a nice solid level. Was fun to play!

Thanks for the nice comments!

"Alien circuitry" was exactly the term I had in mind while creating the look of Genius Loci: great that it comes across!

I'll experiment some more with the lightning in the beginning. Check for the typo, and the hole.

The idea of the saxophone-solo was a kind of elevator muzak. Indeed meant to jar with he rest of the music.

Hey, pickled. I played this level a couple times and went through both endings. The first time I found the 'hidden' ending right away like I knew it was there lol. Anyway, I haven't found anything wrong with this level. Great puzzles, and gameplay. I like the branch in the story at the end. Just hope you won't find yourself overwhelmed making levels. I'm surprised your haven't exhausted your bag of ideas yet. With all these new original gameplay elements you're throwin at us. I did agree with a previous post about having foilage in your level. I'd like to see some of those mushrooms! Really great job here, as always, keep it up!

Edit: The screenshots are terrific!

Level was pretty coo in the beginning could of had more detail but it was alright

Positives:
- Design of the level

Negatives:
- it was a bit confusing in the beginning

Sugguestions:
- Might want to add arrows because your probably not having enough people complete the level because of the beginning just something to think about or before you publish your levels have a friend test it & give you honest feedback about your level.

Overall Nice Job:star::star::star:

Thanks for the comments!

I just updated the level:
-tinkered with the lighting at the beginning.
-fixed the drip sound effect (impact).
-decorated the caves some more with fungi and other growths, even added some of those talkative mushrooms.

Nice! Gonna play it again!

Edit: It's easier to get through the level now. I noticed you've also made a platform longer. I managed to ace the level with 6k+ points. Haha, and I see those mushrooms! Nice! Nice change with the drip sound effect! *wink wink* haha.

here is my feedback to your level:

this level was a real adventure for me lol, but not only in a positive way.
it took me over 30 minutes to beat it. i often thought "if i dont find the right way this time ill quit the level"
it was very difficult, not the obstacles (btw are there even any obstacles? ) the way finding and knowing what to do now was difficult, but i liked it.
the brightness setting of my tv is pretty dark due to that it was even harder for me to find my way through the level.
the atmosphere was inherently consistent.
It was a bit boring, because there are hardly any obstacles in your level
but the craziness and the feeling of beeing lost excuses this a bit.
i was happy when it was over but im also happy that ive played it.
good job.
