So this thread, im not sure if it goes here but what the heck, If your a true gamer, you'd never use cheat codes right? But everyone's used them atleast once. And others Spam the codes around on basically every game. So, what Cheat Codes did you ever use? Whats the one cheat code you'll never forget?

For me its the one in the title, Up, down, right, left, square, square, square. It was used in Tenchu Wrath of Heaven. When in pause you enter the code and at the third square the pause menu would disappear and you would have full health, hehe I would mainly use this in 2 Player with a friend, the match would never end though -.-'

Obviously.

Used lots of cheat codes back in the days when they were actually included in games. Shame they don't do that anymore, those codes added so much more fun to games.

lol, yeah good thing cheat codes still kinda exists in Rock* games at least.

I hate it how some poeple say "But only noobs use cheat codes" bah seems someone forgot 3 things then:

1 - Games are to have fun, whichever way you can, if you have fun using cheat codes, use them!
(And indeed it is a blast sometimes)
2 - Did you buy this game for me? No? The you got no right telling me how i should play!
3 - As long as its not used in a multy-player sort of game or in a way that dirrectl affects other players, then why does it matter to you?

So...yeah if you're one of those people saying that "cheats for noobs" stuff, untill you pay for my games, don't tell me how to play them...

Grand Theft Auto is like made for cheats.

I used to have this Harry Potter game that would send little Harry rocketing off into the stratosphere if you type in 'harrysuperjump'. Not that they had stuff programmed for that, it would glitch the game a lot of the time or you'd get stuck behind a wall. Magic.

The recent GTA games tend to forget that.

I allways used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon3. some of the cheats are so funny. also, if you know how, you can still have loads of fun with out them. All of the cheats are renameing "peeps" one of my favs is nameing someone "John Weardly" or something like that. after, you can make the roller coasters as high as you want.

also in COD modern warfair 2, when im playing my friends (off line) i like to do the high rise gliches (i think a glitch is like a cheat, is it?) there are more cheats that i did but cant remember them. (befor you go commenting on my post saying that i use too meny posts, and i think i do, i just want to remind you of Silverleon's post)

Used to use the GTA:SA AR cheat disks in conjunction with gtaforums to come up with amazing cheats such as pressing right on the directional button to send people and cars flying north, or the ability to teleport anywhere. Good God those were the days. Also I used the cheatdevice for GTA:LCS which was amazingly fun. 2010-07-10 21:36:00

This breaks my heart, I can't remember any cheats! I know for a fact the most used ones had to be the weapon cheats in GTA and a few others.

Tekken 2 had some I remember, big head mode, wire frame etc.

Darn! Modern games need more cheats. I'm not talking about ones that necessarily make it easier. Uncharted had it right with the rewards system for getting trophy points. Just weird crazy crap like they used to!

I forgot the code, but it was in Golden Sun.
It allowed you to name all characters in the party instead of just the main.

I can't remember any cheats off the top of my head, but i'll forever remember every spell combonation in the ps1 action rpg blaze and blade.

Fire ball : Circ - Tri - Circ - Tri - Tri and circ - Circ - Tri - Squ - Circ - Tri - Circ - Hold X to charge up and release.

Or Magic Orb : Tri - Circ - X - Squ - X - Circ - Tri - Circ - Hold X

Lightning : Tri - Square - Circ - X - Squ - Circ - Tri - Tri and Squ - Squ

Some of them got ridiculous though, like summon dragon was 18 buttons long 0.o

No Gravity ROCKS (in Uncharted 2)

Also, other "modern" game that had these kinds of cheats was Call of Duty 4. (ragtime warfare lol)

Call me crazy but I could never remember the combination of buttons instead I just memorized how my hands moved. Anyway if a game had cheats I would use them. I would always have 2 save files, one for playing properly and one for cheating.
My favourite games for cheating would have to be

GTA San Andreas
The Sims 1, 2, 3
Golden Eye 007 (N64)
Super Mario Bros (SNES)
Star Wars Pod Racer (N64)

Kinda unrelated, just want to say that a true gamer is someone who plays games. A false gamer would be someone who doesn't pay games or someone who doesn't exist.2010-07-11 09:16:00

GTA San Andreas... Has to be the jet plane I got REALLY good at flying that thing.

The best cheats for GTA were on the PC because you could muck about with the settings of the cars. In Vice City I made a Batmobile vehicle that could jump from the airport to the shopping mall!!

i think every spyro game after 3 had crash game demos too but they just had you hold down a button. also this:Left, Right, Left, Right(2), Left, Right(3), Left, Right(4), Left, Right(5) you get 2 cookies and a peanut if you know what its from.

"Xanadu" in Zoo Tycoon, it gave you mermaids and unicorns.

Also, by typing "$", you would get money but your fences would rot.

I miss the good old days with the cheat code software. Codebreaker and gameshark were my favorites. Too bad it all had to end when they added trophies to the system.

Does anyone know if its still possible to program cheats to inject in the game like they used to do? Is it something with the PS3 that prevents that now or were the companies told they couldn't release their software for the newer consoles.

I used the ones in the spyro/ratchet games to unlock the demos.
For example you can play a Spyro demo from a Ratchet & Clank disc. I think they used the "↑↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → o □".

Plus the Zoo Tycoon/Age of Empires cheats were very fun to use.
I pretty much only used cheats if there was no alternative way to get the result. For example Penta penguin in CTR.
