How To Centre a Bolt (Moter Bolt, Sprung Bolt, etc.)

Archive: 13 posts

Hey Everyone.

I've been hearing across the forums that people don't know how to centre a Bolt on a wheel. Well Never Fear, BrimoStudios is HERE!!! LOL

Today I?m going to be using parts from the Race Car from the Turbo! Level Kit which you can buy from the Playstation Store.

1). I've glued the two ?wings? to the chasis ready to add our wheels.

2). Now select the Small Wheel from your PopIt Menu.

3). Place the wheel where you?d like it on the car.

4). Do the same for the back wheel.

5). Now go back into your PopIt Menu and select the PopIt Cursor.

6). Select the front wheel.

7). Now press the O Button to get back to the PopIt Menu.

8). Go in to Tools and select a Motor Bolt.

9). The Motor Bolt is exactly in the middle of your wheel.

10). Do the same for the back wheel.

11). Now go into Settings for both wheels, and change what you want.

That's a nice little tutorial! Great work with having pictures to accompany each stem. You certainly deserve the thanks that I gave you!

So the key is to select the object that you are going to place the bolt on, by doing this, you are automatically selecting the center of it. If you back out into the popit cursor (BUT DO NOT BACK TOO FAR OUT because if you back out of the popit cursor then you will not end up selecting the center!) then select the bolt you want, the bolt will automatically be defaulted to that center position. This is all explained in steps 6 - 9 but I figured that I would write it out in a bit longer fashion in case people are confused by why this works (and it really does work ).

Excellent job brimostudios :-)

Excellent tutorial.

And just to be sure: with this method, the bolt doesn't move after hours of editing the level? Because that was my main issue with the bolts; even if I centered them, they moved away after hours of editing, and had to place them again (and again).

@Lleonard:

I am not sure whether it will fix that problem or not. That was a major issue a few updates ago, but I think that the issue was mostly resolved. I still have major issues with spring bolts, but all the other ones see to be pretty good now. I guess what I am trying to say is that this will most likely not fix that problem, but I was under the impression that that problem was basically fixed anyway.

I may just not use centered bolts often enough to realize that there is still a problem though :-)

Excellent work my friend! I've never tried this method before, but you're right it does work! LOL

Hey sorry Lleonard, I've never had this problem with Motor or Regular Bolts, but I have it so frequently with Sprung Bolts and Wobble Bolts. I'm hoping that Cambridge will fix this problem in 2.6.
