on what percentage of the user created levels will be zombie survivals. | 2010-07-09 10:43:00 Author: Sclera Posts: 26 |
Probably quite alot, but be careful with your statement. I assume by this you mean people who'll set a sackbot to Zombot and to follow, and electrify, copy paste, add some bits and publish. But some people may make great ones with balanced zombies, and lots of good visuals/gameplay. Besides, Me and some others are going to make L4D2, but it wont just be a survival, you'll have to get to the saferoom at the end of each level. | 2010-07-09 10:51:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |
Well, in order to take such a bet, we would first need to establish the precision required. Do we only allow integral percentages, precision up to two decimals, four decimals, or infinity? Secondly, we would need to establish a time frame. It is assumed that new levels will be published just about every minute, so the percentage will invariably be changing constantly. The best option would be to sample the percentage over several weeks and analyze the mean. Thirdly, we need to hire a respected organization to compile the numbers. The last thing we would want is to be basing this bet off of false or inaccurate data. This also means that the organization would need to get server snapshots directly from Sony. Obviously, the margin of error will need to be adjusted to account of levels that are not zombie survivals, but contain the words zombie and survival. Lastly, depending on the currency involved in the bet, we may need to conform to federal, state and/or municipal regulations. Compliance will probably require registering the event with mandated organizations or ministries, which could take several days for reply. Once all of these points have been addressed, the bet may proceed. | 2010-07-09 13:05:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |

It's not going to change the fact that some people will make any type of level just to get plays/trophies/hearts/pins/what-have-you. Wait and see what LBP.me brings as far as promoting good levels, and then you can have something to gripe about. There will be zombie invasion levels. You should be more concerned about which creator out there can take this (otherwise abhorrent?) idea and make it work as a LBP2 concept that's fun to play and well-designed. | 2010-07-09 14:48:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
wasn't complaining, just speculating. You should be more concerned about which creator out there can take this (otherwise abhorrent?) idea and make it work as a LBP2 concept that's fun to play and well-designed. i am. | 2010-07-09 15:51:00 Author: Sclera Posts: 26 |
