Yup it's from id software, guys who made Quake and Doom. Still it looks fantastic. Love the slightly more colorful open world setting, love the enemy AI and animations. Looks really really good. Will definitely be keeping an eye on it.

Hmmm, I thought Bethesda was working on it... Fallout 3 was developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks/ZeniMax Media Rage is being developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. Since id was aquired by Zenimax there will be sharing of knowledge between Bethesda Game Studios and id Software as they both have their own areas of expertise but Bethesda Game Studios aren't handling the coding. It's also worth noting that Rage was in development at id for over 2 years before Zenimax acquired them and was originally going to be published by EA.

Similarities to Fallout aside, I'm looking forward to this. Played enough games set in a high-fantasy setting in my day but I've really grown to like games set in a Post-Apocalyptic/Disaster setting and the "Mad-Max"-esque overtones really seem like they'll make this one stick out. I'm just hoping there's plenty to do to keep me occupied for a long time.

This seems like a game you have to experience for yourself before you can pass judgement on it. Watching the gameplay videos it just seems like another shooter to me, but the websites pumping out their impressions are adamant that it's a fantastic game.

Very well said. it's in a post-apocalyptic setting like Fallout, and while not post-apocalyptic, they all borrow heavily from Mad Max. And, if BL taught me anything, it's that it's definitely too early to judge. It will most likely be awesome, though...
