I love art, but it's becoming an overwhelming challenge for me. I have some skill in painting... however, I find it hard to come up with ideas for my work. I'll usually spend days thinking of what to put on the canvas, as I know that people will judge my work accordingly.

I have the tendency to do that too. Sometimes I look on websites selling artwork for insperation. I don't copy the pictures, but sometimes one of them may spark an idea in my head.

I randomly scribble on paper and eventually i make something interesting that gives me an idea. As i work usually that idea changes and evolves so even if the idea is really basic you might get something really awesome in the end.

I believe that the trick is to not stay focused. The less focused on an idea you are, the more ideas will come to your mind. Let yourself dilly-dally and get side-tracked. At the end of the day, you will have more ideas than you would just trying to force yourself to think of an idea. There is one saying that comes to mind here: The harder you try, the less you succeed. This obviously doesn't apply to many of live's challenges or obstacles, but I think this is a challenge that the saying fits perfectly with. Trust me, I do the same thing. I will overthink and overthink everything and then when I least expect it, I'll be struck with an idea. Be patient, it will come to you

The only "artwork" that I could say that I do, is creating levels in LBP. And I'm not even focused then. I just listen to music (preferably the LBP PS3 soundtrack while creating) and pretty much create whatever I think of while listening to that music. And my level is turning out great!

As you have skills in you, you just need to sharpen it out. I think you should do some hard work even rather I would say give more time in creating art. You should make more and more unique arts and then try to make out your own mistake then made it again without any mistakes that you have did before. I think that it would more better option, I hope this will help you.

I would google random things, get some inspiration and then plan it cause there will always be things that you would want to add. Good Luck
