1. Because they are relatable to angsty kids like me. I'm full of angst. I hate the world, I'm alone in this world and no one's there to save me when I break down in the car my dad bought me or in my bedroom with 17 inch flat screen TV. 2. They sing about REAL issues. While dumb metal bands and rappers just sing about being cool and popular. Simple Plan sings about being a loner and no one understanding you at ALL! That's Simple Plan to me. The only reason people tell criticize me is because the can't understand my complex, loner attitude! Like when my parents complain about me crashing the Ferarri they bought me just because I asked them to. I'M SORRY I CAN'T BE PERFECT DAD! I DIDN'T SEE THAT TREE! It's too late for apologies Dad! You don't understand! I hate you! 3. I'm just a kid! Life is a nightmare! I'm just a kid, life is a nightmare! I HAVE IT SO HARD!!!

... I'd have to say most of my love goes out to Nickelback. Don't even joke about that. And I'm getting tired of all the threads that say "bla bla bla is the best X ever!!!11!!!one!" It's all a matter of opinion, no one is the best. Maybe Simple Plan is your FAVOURITE, but you can't speak for everyone else in the entire world by saying they are the best when in reality, you haven't heard 80% of the other artists/groups in any genre. Second off, metal bands that talk about being cool and popular? The only "popular"/mainstream type metal right now is THRASH, which even then doesn't talk about being cool and popular. In fact, the larger majority of music that focuses on "real issues" in their songs are metal/rock groups. I'm not saying Simple Plan is as bad lyricists as certain other artists, and Simple Plan might be talking about "real teen issues", but that's besides the point. If you think you can sum up a genre in a sentence or two, no matter what genre, you are already wrong. Eminem is a rapper, correct? His lyrics are genius. There is soooo much wrong in the OP. I don't want to rage but these music threads get me hyped up xD

Please tell me this is funny. I can't even explain why. I almost died. I may be totally wrong but I thought it was pretty clear the that the OP was joking around. I'm full of angst. No they don't half the time they sing about things like drugs making drugs prostitiutes gangs shootings Which IMO are a lot bigger problem then teens having emotional problems BTW you don't have it hard. you have a ferrari a ps3, thats not even close to having it Hard!!! Having it hard is being in a rough neighborhood where shootings happen every night. Yeah there is places like that, i can turn on Chicago news and the same street block has a shooting every night! And even at Iraq imagine you being a Iraqi or Afghanistan child living with soldiers around you your entire childhood and seeing people in your country dieing! You don't have it hard people like them do!

Seriously, haven't you heard that "song/ rap" (if you can even call i tthat) of some dude saying words ending with "-tion," "-sion" and other similar words? Seriously, like wth, the words have NOTHING to do with each other, they're just rhyming words one after another with no meaning whatsoever, and not even all rhyme. Not to mention the guy doesn't really have what you would call a "good" voice... So how did that song became famous i've no idea, its something anyone could do. But hey, that goes for all current rap/ hiphop, right?
