So, some worries/concerns about the Beta...

Archive: 9 posts

Alright, so I'm guessing the Beta also transfers all the things over from LBP1. Say you published a level in LBP1, but improved on it with LBP2 and added like a grappling hook. Then you published that NEW version. So, someone who doesn't have the Beta plays that level in LBP1 because its still in the LBP community, would they be able to use the LBP2 Beta power-ups or even play the level at all?

Sorry if it's confusing. :/

[EDIT}: Sorry if this is in the wrong Forum. I just joined the site today. (:

It wouldn't make sense to make the LBP2 beta work on LBP1 servers. They'll just use separate beta servers like they did with the water & Online Create betas.2010-07-07 02:30:00

I see what you're saying. So would the original level disappear from LBP1 completely or stay how it was before it was changed in the Beta? That's another question for ya'! 2010-07-07 02:34:00

I would imagine in the full game it would disappear from LBP 1's servers if you republished it in LBP 2, but if you published it as a new level, the old one would be on both servers while the new one would would only appear on LBP 2's. Not quite sure if that'd be the same or different. Your published levels from LBP 1 might not show up on the beta servers.2010-07-07 02:44:00

^^^Pretty much took the cake

It's pretty much a guarantee that no level republished in LBP2 will appear in LBP1. I also wouldn't be surprised if there weren't any LBP1 levels shown on the LBP2 Beta servers at all.

There is very sense! LBP2 server (or at least client) will need to corporate with LBP1 server there no other way around it since there need to be backward compatibility and each level made in LBP1 need to appere in LBP2.

Including LBP.me they will probably use same database or at least common tables in that database or LBP2 server will read LBP1 database and LBP.me will read both (i don't know how there database structure look like, so i'm saying only possibilities)

In matter of fact i think LBP2 might be powered by very same server but enthenged, same as blizzard do with there battle.net servers, since LBP is P2P game too and real game server is.... your console.

Specificly, it should transfer everything on you ps3's lbp1 save into the lbp2 beta. ( assuming this works as it did with the other betas)

This does not transfer anything you have published on the servers to the beta, just what is in my moon or your pop it.

Therefore, if you publish the level, it will go on the lbp2 beta servers and not affect lbp1, and hopefully lbp2 beta levels will be transferable to lbp2.

Hopefully this clears stuff up.

I do believe that you will be able to se LBP1 levels on LBP2. Just, you won't be able to see LBP2 levels on LBP1. I also do believe that all materials and stuff earned on LBP1 will transfer over to LBP2...I hope this helps but I don't think it did.2010-07-11 01:22:00
