The 1st episode was packed with stuff. Jeremy in the reliant robin, James driving up a busting volcano and death of the reasonibly priced car.

The 2nd episode was rubbish. Just a lot of German jokes.

I watched both the episodes on Iplayer before, the first one was brilliant, the second one wasn't as good but it had the good old fashioned top gear contest. So we can't complain.2010-07-07 23:22:00

I'm surprised that there was this many people who watched top gear on here haha. I loved the first episode of this season, especially the reliant part of course "just as dangerous as inviting you mom around for an evening of chat roulette." I loved when he just flipped the second turn right away, and when he flips it into the reliant enthusiast get together.2010-07-08 05:56:00

Same here. It kinda surprised me because the dude that plays as Weasley, was in mostly every Harry Potter film, thinking that he would be majorly loaded with money, but it turns out he owned some pretty beat down cars. Really diggin' the sound of his ice cream truck though

The only reason that I could tolerate that interview was because Clarkson was asking wholly inappropriate questions. Twas ace

Ah! Here we are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSsLOjeUjuo There part one in there... somewhere. I don't want to post too many links, but watch towards the end. Jeremy's pervertedness was sadly cut out of the show

Speaking of which. Top Gear fans! Today on Final Gear.com, they are releasing yet another new episode of Top Gear! And being me, very picky about my video quality, would just download the 1080i version of Top Gear. Hook up the PS3 Media Server from my PC to the PS3, and stream it onto my TV for everybody to watch! But enough about me. From this very moment, Top Gear will be released in Europe in about 50 minutes! And access to Top Gear from the U.S. will an hour after the Euro one has been released. That is all! And happy watching!2010-07-18 19:10:00

That episode was truly hilarious in my opinion, most notably the caravan scenes, I was crying with laughter. When it went over the cliff, oh good God was I laughing.

I agere, that was just brilliant when Clarkson was screaming and May and Hammond were just wetting themselves.

I think the cliff bit was definitely the highlight, but I wished they had shown more of Clarksons initial reaction.

Yeah, Top Gear set up a LOT of their shenanigans, but they openly admit it. Plus, it's purely for entertainment purposes so as long as it's funny, who cares!? ;P

If you want Top gear to not be set up, then the best examples of that are the special double length episodes...

Though there are still some shenanigans in those, but they are for good reason. Like at the massive sand dune, the crappest car went down by itself because theres no way it would have been safe for them to use it.

It is set up, but most people don't want to watch an hour of car reviews. And teh challenges just wouldn't work without some setting-up. They still review a car or two, and they make it **** entertaining for ther est of the time as well.

Top gear wins very hard.

/thread. However, it's not /thread because it hasn't finished. But yeah.

I would prefer if they set it up without pretending that they weren't. Like at the end of the last episode, it would have been better if they'd said "I know, why don't we 'accidentally' turn off Clarkson's handbrake?" rather than pretending they were just trying to park it close to the edge. Same with the end of the Bolvia special, instead of staging Hammon's car falling down to look like an accident, it would have been better for them to acknowledge his car with never make it so lets push it down to see what happens anyway.2010-07-21 11:43:00

The pretending thing is pretty much what makes Top Gear. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it fails.

When they "accidently" pushed Jeremy's caravan off the mountain, the cameras had Jeremy in a camera angle that was so obvious that it was set up.

Top Gear wouldn't be Top Gear without all that stuff!

I'm in america, though, so the new series hasn't started here yet (at least I don't think it has). I can't wait until it does. I have all the dvds that have come out here so far. I think one of the best episodes was when they raced across the jungle, though. ^_^

The Senna tribute was especially outstanding, managing to top two of the biggest starts on the planet proves that Senna's influence still lives on. Fantastic driver, fantastic man. R.I.P Aryton Senna.

It was a good episode, not brilliant. I never knew who Senna was so I was getting a little bored near the end. I can't say I didn't enjoy the tribute though, for a show that usually spits on other stuff they handled it very well.

He may have been talented but seriously, taking drivers out? That is just lame.

You missed the story behind that. Having qualified on pole, Senna was told he was starting on the 'dirty' side of the track, ie the inside. Because the line down the straight at Suzuka is on the outside, all the rubber is on the outside. When you start, if there is rubber down you get better traction off the line, and therefore a faster start. Senna complained to the FIA that he was being disadvantaged by starting first, and that it was unfair.

He wasn't allowed to switch sides, so he told Prost, who was his big rival, that he would be leading by the first corner, or both of them would crash. Prost didn't get out the way, they crashed. It's Prost's fault, not Sennas.

What about all the other times then, forcing drivers into dangerous situations, just seems incredibly wrong.2010-07-26 13:49:00

Author:

That's how he did it. If you don't get out of his way, then you'll crash. He drove to win, and they all knew it, and very few drivers would actually fight back. He was the fastest there, there was no point a slower driver trying to defend because it was such a massive difference in speed.

It's telling that most current drivers rate him as the best, above Fangio, Gilles, Hill, Clark etc. He was utterly unique, the only driver even remotely close to him in current F1 is Hamilton, and even he isn't that close to Senna. If Senna saw a gap he went for it, and if it didn't work then fine. But it normally did. It was only dangerous if people decided to fight him...

if only they looked at safety of the cars back then, and maybe he would still be alive, do you realize that a driver died a day before senna on practice? so glad that the cars are so much safer now.2010-07-26 14:58:00

Yes. I do realize that. You may not have noticed, but not only am i an F1 fanatic in general, Senna was like my hero. Roland Ratzenberger (sp?) died in qualifying on the Saturday, and Senna was pretty sad about it. He carried an Austrian flag in his car during the race, and if he won he was planning on doing the warm down lap with the flag out, and was going to dedicate the win to Ratzenberger.

It wasn't just the safety of the cars, Senna and Berger walked the track before the race, and at Tamburello, the corner Senna crashed at, they both said the wall should be further back, but were told it couldn't be moved because there was a stream behind. If they had listened, the wall would have been moved, senna would have slowed in the gravel, and it would have been fine.

Also, the Williams team have had a Senna S logo on the front wing of their car between the support struts that hold the wing on since '94, as it was a Williams he was driving, in tribute to him.

I wasn't criticizing your knowledge on F1 and thanks for sharing the information with me. I never realized myself until yesterday after my parents told me that Roland Ratzenberger died a day before senna (basically i never knew).

I agree with the point about the wall but there were more factors, the car was one, if the driver was sitting lower in the car the wheel wouldn't have violated the cockpit and the drive shaft wouldn't have penetrated his helmet, well you know. also I believe the helmet wasn't of the right specification to reduce the impact. it was not just the distance of the wall from the track, the wall was solid concrete and he hit it at roughly 135mph

Last episode for up tonight. Weird how the others are only starting. I'm a bit disappointed there was no special, unless they're keeping it under wraps.

Hello again, and welcome to the last of these wittering-on-about-what?s-in-the-show blogs for this run because, as you can probably guess, Sunday?s TopGear is the final show in this 15th series.

At the risk of sounding immodest, last week?s show was a bit of a humdinger and there?s no point pretending it was going to be easy to follow. But follow it we must and ? with the modesty-o-meter now pinging off the minus end of the scale ? I think we?ve done a rather good job.

First off, we?ve got Jeremy?s track test of the saucy new Ferrari 458 which begins with a small ticker tape parade and draws to a close with some shouting, having taken in several other Ferraris along the way including a 430 owned by a chap whose name you might recognise.

After that Jeremy, Richard and James are together for an interesting challenge in which they attempt to prove to the world that old British sports cars are great and never deserved to be killed off by the hot hatchback.

They do this by spending ?5000 a piece on a lovely old roadster of some sort and then undertaking a road trip across Britain, taking in some of its finest sites along the way.

There are some fantastically silly moments in this and some properly funny lines from the presenters ? Hammond?s claiming that he?s ?warm? being my personal favourite ? but this is also an item shot through with some fascinating facts and a gut tugging amount of poignancy.

As if that wasn?t enough, we?ve got another Hollywood star in the Reasonably Priced Car as Jurassic Park legend Jeff Goldblum takes his turn in the Kia Capostrophedee.

And that, my friends, will be that until TopGear returns at a point in the future that I?m not allowed to tell you about yet. Thanks for all your comments, good and bad, during the last few weeks.

Come back to topgear.com on Sunday after the show to see a video exclusive in which the presenters reflect on the series past before Jeremy and James get sidetracked discussing their surprising obsession with another BBC television programme.

EDIT: And remember, because of the athletics tonight?s show is on at 9.30pm on BBC2. That?s 9.30pm. As you were.

I honestly think they could have done that episode as a special. It was pretty wasted, it could have had a lot of challenges. Oh yeah, it was also hilarious! 2010-08-02 17:05:00

Good episode this week, but last in the series!?

They didn't even have an epic adventure this time! I love the special episodes with a whole hour, maybe more dedicated to a great adventure.

Plus, I thought it was quite funny how Clarkson was saying "Thats roughly 5000 kilometers" or "thats about 50 US cents." They must have gotten some complaints from confused foreign viewers haha.

I might be mistaken but didn't they do some filming in Australia this year, Or at least Hammond and Clarkson did since James isn't allowed in Australia. I was really worried yet in hysterics when The Stig was blown up.2010-08-02 19:03:00

I'm really not comfortable using torrents.

Is there an option for direct download or to stream it? I guess I can try BBC iPlayer but that has always given me hassle in the past.

I download my episodes at 1080i, use a PS3 media server running from my PC to my PS3 Slim, and stream the video directly to my Tv, so the family can watch I don't know any other way mate, sorry. 2010-08-04 07:22:00

Yep, the Stig has been revealed as Ben Collins.

... and theres a big legal battle too!

Instead of explaining I'll just drop you off at what the showrunner has said.

I agree with them. Don't know what your views are, but it's their trademark and this book company have literally ruined a big part of a massive show.

Anyway, they have recruited a new Stig for now.

No I mean in the new series, I wonder if they'll mention it within the show itself, "Some say, he can transform his appearance like The Doctor".

My thought's exactly! I was watching Top Gear America the other day and I was horrified... The only thing kept me watching was the review they were doing about the Lamborghini Superveloce. Other than that, they don't have the same kind of humor Jeremy, Richard, and James has. America... Congratulations, you have ruined Top Gear in my perspective.2010-11-25 08:10:00

What the hell why do USA always have to copy shows

God knows... To a small extent I can understand when they remake foreign language films in Hollywood (even though it makes me rage when things like Let the Right One In and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo get remade - thank God the Oldboy remake got canned) - that's because the English-speaking world are undeniably ignorant when it comes to language... But remaking English shows makes no sense whatsoever... What is the rationale for that? Especially when the shows they make are so good that the imitations are rarely able to compete.

The U.S. is still gonna be able to watch the proper version, right?

I sure as hell hope so! And honestly, I don't know why we're always taking shows and movies and remaking them. I'm sure it's because the people in charge are worried thatthe first time someone says "lift" instead of "elevator", Americans might freak out and stop watching! But that's silly, isn't it?

I'll continue to watch the English version of Top Gear, because it's worlds better.

xmas specials i know we have alot of fan's here cant wait

You may have read some scant details about our festive special in the papers this week. We can confirm their veracity. This Boxing Day Jeremy, Richard and James will be attempting their toughest task yet: passing themselves off as ?three wise men? while recreating that famous journey following a star to Bethlehem.

The Three Wise Men Christmas Special will be on BBC2 on Boxing Day at 8pm. Not only that, Top Gear will be back with another new episode just five days before on Tuesday 21 December at 8pm on BBC2. And then the series proper begins early in the New Year. Full TV listings details are at the Radio Times as always.

Im a little confused by this also.

It originally stated that the American Roadtrip episode was 7/7 indicating that it was the final episode of series 15. But at the start of that ep, it had a montage of 'what to expect in the next coming weeks.' THEN it has the episodes listed as 1/2 ans 2/2 indicating that they were indeed, just specials?!?!

BBC! You confusing!
