Rooftop RumbleGruntosUK http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr285/grantosuk/Rooftop%20Rumble/APhoto_4.jpgMake your way across crumbling roofs in a warzone. Lots of point combos, destruction and explosions. No story in this one, or puzzles because it does'nt really need it I've finally made a new level, not a continuation of Mars Attacks or Clucking Cowbells unfortunatly, just a one off. I finished it late last night but was to tired to post anything, it took me 5 days from start to finish Theres no puzzles, backtracking or secrets, so no head scratching needed, just get the through the level, collect points and watch things destroy and asplode Here are a few pics. http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr285/grantosuk/Rooftop%20Rumble/APhoto_5.jpg http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr285/grantosuk/Rooftop%20Rumble/APhoto_4.jpg http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr285/grantosuk/Rooftop%20Rumble/APhoto_3.jpg Thanks to the playtesters, and fruitmanlolli and RJA00000 for giving me a hand in create mode, and speeding the little things up loads Have fun! http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr285/grantosuk/Rooftop%20Rumble/ICON0.png | 2010-07-06 14:13:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |

The most fun I've had in LBP for a long time! I loved watching everything fall apart. DESTRUCTION!!! ...The Hotel bit was very cool too. I'll be playing this again next time I'm on. | 2010-07-06 18:48:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |

I loved this level, it had a great amount of points, detail, explosions and obstacles. MY only complaint is maybe you could put the finish gate earlier in the level because for me it feels impossible to beat the race, but everything else is awesome! :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 | 2010-07-06 18:52:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |

Thakns for the comments and plays everyone I loved this level, it had a great amount of points, detail, explosions and obstacles. This level didn't contain any backtracking at all. No stars for you! | 2010-07-06 19:46:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
This level didn't contain any backtracking at all. No stars for you! Hahaha, ok, I'll try harder next time that's the only feedback eh! *note to self more backtracking* | 2010-07-06 19:48:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |

Played it. yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Thats all I have to say about that. oh and that bit with the collapsing hotel sign....epic! Really enjoyed this one. You kept it nice and simple. Adding the race gates was a nice touch also. | 2010-07-06 21:56:00 Author: wexfordian Posts: 1904 |
Bombastique! Getting closer to LBP2 is making today's level even more epic. And yours is explodingly good! Yup that hotel scene was yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! | 2010-07-06 22:06:00 Author: TOBSn08 Posts: 143 |

It was like Mirror's Edge had a baby with Uncharted then went crazy and apocolyptic. That sums it up in my terms. And another little twin called Awesome. | 2010-07-06 22:25:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
Brilliant! I love combos so yeah this was addictive. Still one or two I'm determined to pull off but seriously tricky. I thought it was gorgeous too and loved all the animation. The bit where the ground slopes upward, just before hotel sign I think. Electric blocks slide down at you, it's fairly easy to end up behind the wire fence, especially if you jump backwards down the slope. I know it's not hard to get back out but thin gas could keep players out altogether and keep the level flowing. You might not notice your behind there at first and jump around frantically trying to figure out what's going on, well I did anyhow the first time I ended up behind (I could have sworn it happened when I was jumping uphill, but that doesn't make much sense so perhaps I was jumping to dodge a block and it happened) Only other thing was the area with the race start. The bit that falls down and creates a slope upward to the race but the end is blocked by gas until you pull the switch. The gas seems a bit too close, I was trying to combo from there, jumping down to the bubbles below. It is possible to jump down but it's so strict right now you can't do it running, thus combo breaks. Would be nice to be able to hop down at the end easily, for the combo crazy peeps out there! Heck it might not even combo lol but worth a test as it's always satisfying add an extra few bubbles to a chain. :star::star::star::star::star: + <3 Thanks! | 2010-07-07 04:22:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |
Thanks for the comments everyone! Pleased everyone seems to be enjoying it and it's going down well! Only other thing was the area with the race start. I'm on fixing that now, I'll move the lightining back a little, Luos also discovered you can jump onto of the billboard and over the lightning, to avoid pulling the switch this will kill to birds with one stone. Thanks for the play and the feedback banshee. | 2010-07-07 08:00:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
I played this last night and was blown away! It was full of explosions were perfect and the colors were very fitting. The action sequences and bubble placement were top-notch. An absolutely delightful level with no problems whatsoever. :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 EDIT: High replay value! | 2010-07-07 15:40:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Like I said when I played it with you... Simply Awesome! I always wanted to do something like that, but you beat me to it!! arghh Great use of lighting and explosions, top shelf stuff! This level is fun, fast paced and you're gonna want to play it again and again. Great stuff! | 2010-07-07 16:17:00 Author: javi haguse Posts: 744 |
Wow, talk about intense! The amount of detail on all the buildings and such as well as the explosions were amazing. A little frustrating at times especially because it can be hard to see but not a whole lot. Fun level. The hotel bit was my favorite. :star::star::star::star::star: Well done. | 2010-07-07 17:26:00 Author: Force Ten Posts: 60 |
Played this last night.... fantastic! I ended up playing it about 5 times, and it kept getting more fun as I understood the different areas a bit better. Here are my thoughts (based on last night before any changes): 1. The part where you have the 2 things you have to jump over with the little led lights coming out - I was killed here several times and couldn't quite figure out why at first. You land from the jump and start running right... into gas. But when I first played it wasn't clear what plane the gas was on. 2. When grabbing to the bottom of the "O" in the hotel sign, When it dropped I was electrocuted. I think periodically the eletricity can actually kill the player through the material he's holding on to. 3. I wasn't a big fan of trying to jump and platform across the top of the rockets. It seemed fiddly, especially when trying to race as fast as you can. I would have preferred the rockets to be hidden in the material, but be running on a smooth surface. Those were all just preferences and small niggles - all in all I had a fantastic time and it has a really addictive and frenetic quality to it. :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 - Great job! | 2010-07-07 17:51:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Simply said, this is the level I have been waiting for from you forever! It makes me appreciate what came before more... and anticipate the future again! I know when I say this I am clearly in the minority, but the backtacking had really become a cliche for me... (like an inside joke kind of thing...) But this level is so straight forward in its intentions that it hits you hard like a gale of fresh air! Excellent fun work Grant. | 2010-07-07 20:32:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
Thanks for the comments Gravel, and everyone else to. I'm actually enjoying creating start to finish, quick blast levels a lot more actually. That's not me saying I wont ever go back to backtracking however, but the other 3 things on my moon have none in! | 2010-07-07 21:22:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Awesome man! I will get to recording it as soon as I have played a bit more of the new COD maps. | 2010-07-07 21:30:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |

Wow, great level. The graphics and lighting and action was superb. I did run into what may be a glitch though. Just before the 3 wrecking balls, as I was swinging on the first one, I stayed there a long tine looking around and then when I dropped down and used the springer, the 3 wrecking balls were gone. I restarted the level and didn't pause on the first swinger and then the 3 wrecking balls were there. I will try to replicate it again tonight. Other than that is was fun figuring out where to go and what to do. Ted | 2010-07-07 21:48:00 Author: Muskwa_1 Posts: 213 |

Ted Thanks for the comments, the building is supposed to collapse below you at that point so you fall onto gas and get sent to the end of that section, it must have been glued when I was fixing a problem with that area earlier, I'll fix that tomorrow, thanks | 2010-07-07 22:11:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Hey Grant - played this three times last night after telling the kids I was DONE playing the Marvel levels for the fifth time. lol What a gorgeous level The lights are amazing! I summed this one up for myself as antposteller mayhem in technicolor - which is a very cool thing. The only issue I had was in multiplayer - the building that tilts with the big hook... it didn't tilt with us in multiplayer when one player ran way ahead of the rest of the group. No sure if you have that set for require all or if it didn't fire correctly that one time. The two times after with two of us playing it worked perfectly. Love this one Grant! Nice work as always | 2010-07-07 22:32:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Thanks for the comments Morgana I think that is set to require all yeah, but the radius obviously isn't big enough. I'll add that to the fix list tomorrow, it might even be better to remove the require all completely so when one player passes it triggers. I think the main problem is you keeping your pod in check tho, one person charging ahead, tut tut | 2010-07-07 22:48:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Ok, now i played it and the level its magnificent. The visuals are unique and with all the decorations the level doesn't look just funky, this is a great visuals work. The game-play is fun, at parts i'd say its original but despite this at moments the level gets repetitive. Otherwise, great level. Good job! | 2010-07-07 23:15:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
Thanks for the comments ferrch, most of the level took a backseat to the action and set pieces, it's been a common complaint, but good feedback is the only way to learn for next time | 2010-07-07 23:23:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
No problem in fact the level was so good that it will definitely inspire anyone who plays it. And as always you impressed me. | 2010-07-07 23:29:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
Alright, played it, tagged it Hoists and hearted the hell out of it. ^_^ | 2010-07-07 23:43:00 Author: xkappax Posts: 2569 |
Looks good and the reviews sound great. Playing this will be the first thing I do when I get on LBP later. | 2010-07-08 00:06:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
Hiya- This is one if the best levels that I've played lately! Seriously man, I loved all of the explosions, lighting, and the mere concept was ingenious! This is one of the few levels that have great visuals and gameplay, and to build this in five days is an enormous accomplishement, something like this would take me two months! Like Holy Clucking Cowbells, this level had a whole bunch of bubble combos that take a lot of skills to use to their maximum potential. But I think I must have some skills though, because last time that I checked, I had 3rd place! Overall, a splendid level that I know I will be coming back to often. I rated the level :star::star::star::star::star: and <3ed. | 2010-07-08 02:44:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |
I entered the level with a guy that didn't know the Central and I met online through other friends, we couldn't play all the level since I had to go to dinner, but as soon as we entered the level he recognized Grantos's hand. I think it's a great achievement, that will rightly please you Grant, so I thought it was cool to tell you. I will play all the level later today, I really didn't went more than 2 minutes into the level, and didn' get to the PS3 the night. | 2010-07-08 10:31:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Thanks for the comments, the building is supposed to collapse below you at that point so you fall onto gas and get sent to the end of that section, it must have been glued when I was fixing a problem with that area earlier, I'll fix that tomorrow, thanks I tried it last night again and the same thing happened. If I swing on the first swinger (before the 3 wrecking balls), for 3 or 4 full swings both directions, then drop, the 3 wrecking balls are gone. If I don't do the 3 or 4 swings first, everything was fine, the 3 wrecking balls are there. Ted | 2010-07-08 16:52:00 Author: Muskwa_1 Posts: 213 |
Thanks for testing that out. I think the problem is that you're hitting the radius of the proximity switch to start the event when you're swinging, it's an easy fix, I'll have a look at that tonight. | 2010-07-08 17:04:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Hi! The level is awesome. Mayhem and destruction a go-go! It' really slick and fun to play and has lots of great effects. I particularly loved the Hotel scene. There's a visible logic I spotted, I took a pic and upload it in your level and sent you a pic via PSN message. 5 stars and a heart | 2010-07-08 20:34:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Thought I was doing ok until I got to the end and found that I had only found 1 of the secrets haha! Was really good. Loved the set pieces. Only complaint I could have is that at the start I wasn't sure what I should be jumping on/through/over. It was a fleeting issue though so I wouldn't worry about it. Anyway it's a departure from your usual style and it works well. Good stuff mate. | 2010-07-08 23:03:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
You know you've got a good level when you can get Matt out of hibernation. Running away from that Hotel sign was one of the best things I've ever done in this game! | 2010-07-08 23:16:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
It was really awesome, that's for sure! I love these kind of levels and you just pleased my need for one more of this rare gems. The only suggestion I could make is that you change the building where only electricity can kill you, the danger should look better. That's the only fault I could think of... And there are secrets...? :star::star::star::star::star: & <3 | 2010-07-09 10:07:00 Author: blizzard_cool Posts: 752 |
Regarding the secrets; Maybe I'm mixing up this level with the Canyon-esque one. I played a whole load of levels the other day and me be confusing myself. | 2010-07-09 18:16:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
Looks great. Ill try to rember to try this the next time im on. It sounds like something I was going to create a while ago. | 2010-07-10 15:20:00 Author: SteveBigGuns Posts: 423 |
Hi Grant! Played this last night and found it very enjoyable. The level had a great flow to it, and some interesting challenges and unexpected turns of events that kept me on the edge of my seat...and frustrated, in a fun way that is. . It looks like LBP is enjoying this level also. GREAT JOB! Rick | 2010-07-10 19:33:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
3. I wasn't a big fan of trying to jump and platform across the top of the rockets. It seemed fiddly, especially when trying to race as fast as you can. I would have preferred the rockets to be hidden in the material, but be running on a smooth surface. Yeah, that was my biggest problem. You could just add a bit of invisible dark matter over the top or something. The "hotel" part was definitely cool. I don't think i'll forget that for a while. I didn't care for the colour palette (and some cameras) in the level, but that's just my preference. Nice level. | 2010-07-11 12:52:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

You could just add a bit of invisible dark matter over the top or something. The "hotel" part was definitely cool. I don't think i'll forget that for a while. I didn't care for the colour palette (and some cameras) in the level, but that's just my preference. There are little strips of DM over the rockets, I guess they are a little to high above the rockets. It'll be a nightmare trying to select them and make them lower but I'll have a go Thanks for the comments everyone | 2010-07-11 13:09:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Just finished and had a great time! I loved the visual style. It felt kind of like a comic book come to life. Very cool! All the destruction was well done and man and yes, the hotel scene is awesome! Gameplay wise, I enjoyed how frantic the level was, although there were a couple times when I found it hard to see what layer the hazards were in. Not a big deal though. I did run into an issue with the wrecking balls at the end. Before I could jump up to them, they shot up, leaving me stranded at the bottom with a checkpoint. Now, I didn't activate the checkpoint, hoping that another activated above (and it did), but I would suggest moving the one at the bottom off to the side or something, so players don't activate it by accident. Fun and frantic level! Well done! | 2010-07-12 12:40:00 Author: mrsupercomputer Posts: 1335 |
That was an insane level. I loved the destruction environment of this level and the design is great. Although I got confused sometimes on this level, you certainly worked hard making this level. Bravo. | 2010-07-16 03:52:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |

Awesome job Gruntos! I was very excited when I finished the level and I left an ingame comment like "Aaahh... wooow!!" Yeah, its a very well made level, and I can't remember any flaws in it. So I just can say congrats for another top stuff level, I five starred it, and hearted it | 2010-07-21 14:50:00 Author: poms Posts: 383 |
Excellent, beautiful and fun. I loved your level GruntosUK. It felt great, can be played under stress (race) or played slowly to admire the vistas. You got some nice action going on and your explosions were good. I really had a good time in there. Keep up your great work. :star::star::star::star::star: + <3 | 2010-07-24 07:00:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
