A couple of ideas

Hey everyone! I had a few ideas for some things I think could be useful in LBP2. What does everyone else think? Wire - a type of 'String' tool which is flexible but relatively stiff, which can be used to connect objects. Tweak options are max/min length, strength and stiffness and colour (it can be multiple colours). Star Material - a type of material which has a halo around it. Glows in the dark (soft, light, grabbable) Gel Material (soft, grabbable) Ruby, Saphire, Topaz, Emerald, Crystal, Quartz and Bronze Material (hard) Paper Material - plain paper material (soft, light, grabbable) Lined Paper Material - lined paper material (soft, light, grabbable) Hole-Punch Paper Material - lined paper with holes punched into the border of the page (soft, light, grabbable) Cloth Material (soft, grabbable) Clay Material (soft) Putty Material (soft, grabbable) Plaster Material (med-hard) Fuzz Material (soft, grabbable) Knitted Material (soft, grabbable) Shiny Metal Material (hard) Aluminium Material (med-hard) Dirt Material (soft, dissolveable) Oil Material (slippery) Glitter Material (soft, grabbable) Plywood Material (light) Cotton Wool Material (soft, light, grabbable) Blu Tack Material (soft, light, grabbable) Dust Material (soft, light) Cloud Material - like clouds, thickness of material can be tweaked (light, you can tweak whether or not you can pass through it) Brick Material (hard) Pebble Material (med-hard) Mud Material (soft, slippery) Glow-In-The-Dark Material - glow in the dark plastic material (light) Algae Material (soft, grabbable) Frost Material (light) Graphite Material (heavy) Marshmallow Material (soft, light, grabbable - can be yellow, green, white or pink) Card Material (light) China Material (med-heavy) Honeycomb Material (light, grabbable) Cork Material (light, grabbable) Carpet Material (soft, med-heavy, grabbable) - Water tool could include a 'Surf' option, which allows you to change the amount of surf you get on water in your levels - New 'Firework' bomb with tweakable explosion colour (up to three colours allowed at once in any firework) - Electric Hum sound effect (the low-level hum of electricity you hear in some objects) - Music track that is similar to a more electric Pac Man tune | 2010-07-06 11:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
These are some great Material ideas that will go well with any level. I was thinking of improving the dark matter though. A little something like this: Dark Matter Tweaks: Solidity (How solid it is): From 0 to 100. If 0, the Dark Matter becomes very gooey and slimy, dripping here and there, but still floating. If set to 100, it will be just like the hard Dark Matter in LBP1. Color: Any color. (Based on what colors MM allows in LBP2) Friction: If 0, becomes very slippery like ice. If 100, normal friction/a bit slower walking. I also have an idea for a Mirror Material, but that's another story. | 2010-07-07 02:31:00 Author: edster962 Posts: 170 |
OP,all those ideas are perfect for LBP2 !!!!!! | 2010-07-07 20:40:00 Author: SackBoy98 Posts: 588 |
how about a matiral thats like a boost pad for every thing that goes near it ( increases the travel speed that the object is already going) | 2010-07-07 20:43:00 Author: Photon Man54 Posts: 47 |
I think Marshmallow and cloth can be used with sponge, and I think rods can swing so wire is not needed but I like the rest. | 2010-07-07 20:58:00 Author: JspOt Posts: 3607 |
sounds good... | 2010-07-08 00:59:00 Author: Photon Man54 Posts: 47 |
I really like the mirror material idea. I never thought about that before. (: | 2010-07-08 06:43:00 Author: Mastadom Posts: 195 |
what about travel wire , so you can use a hook to travel down a wire ect xD? and what about an option if you want to make an action game/rpg powerups like sackboy gets his own sort of weapons but like the marvel costumes they should also be able to use the powers they normally had , so like something the paintgun walk over a piece and get the power > ? hmmmm what else boards that fly and stay stable ? (like silver surfer) ,fly ability , superspeed ability ect. | 2010-07-08 08:48:00 Author: BlackThornDust Posts: 100 |
Travel wire is easily handled as a grabbable material attached to thin geometry via a wheel or glass. | 2010-07-08 15:01:00 Author: Vertrucio Posts: 119 |
I think Marshmallow and cloth can be used with sponge, and I think rods can swing so wire is not needed but I like the rest. Cloth, maybe. But a thick, gooey Marshmallow material would be very fun, and Sponge doesn't really look much like Marshmallow even when stickered. ^^ Btw, when I say 'Wire' I mean as in electric device wires, like the one you plug into your PS3 and charge up your Controller with or the one that connects your keyboard to your computer. It would fit with the whole tech-style of LBP2. | 2010-07-08 20:34:00 Author: Unknown User |
oh i see... u can make that... | 2010-07-09 04:12:00 Author: Photon Man54 Posts: 47 |
I had an idea of a "magic ai tool". You could stick it in a microchip and tweak vulnerability (attach wires to weak points, hit points, how weak the section is, what it's weak to, etc.) and behavior (Is it nice or mean? You could determine attacks. Does it follow or flee?) You could attach the AI tool to anything. Is it a good idea? | 2010-07-09 16:42:00 Author: Unknown User |
A mirror material would be aesthetically useful. If it was slightly see-through, like glass, it could be used to make materials behind it appear shinny and reflective. Do want. | 2010-07-09 19:38:00 Author: RottenAvocado Posts: 319 |
