The LBP PSP level majority.

Well this is more like a shout out... I like to download levels strait from the "Newly added" page and you would be surprised to find how many good levels there are! But when i go into "Highest rated" i find levels with the same objective like just run here, solve this puzzle, run there and solve this puzzle too... It's kinda hard finding levels with a great unique-feeling to it... Like for example, Amazingflyingpoo's "Destiny" level, that level brought me into a space ship, into another space ship, and onto a burning rock that has me running to safety in less then ten seconds... Now that's a level (No Hate to anyone)... but i wish there would be levels that had a different objective then others, instead of running around solving a few puzzles and not getting any rewards except some score bubbles (that kills me)...2010-07-05 04:00:00

Woo-hoo! Thanks for the compliment to Destiny! It's great to hear that you enjoyed that level :-)

I think that the problem for you is that all LBPers don't like the same things. For instance, some like to focus on platforming and don't really care if a new mechanic is implemented or not. A great example of someone like this is BlueBulletBill. He really likes platforming, and he openly admits that he would much prefer a straight platformer than levels like mine where I try to do new things.

Other people really like to see humor in levels mixed with a delicious sprinkling of standard LBP mechanics. tsr13's levels would fall nicely into this category. It seems to me that about 99.984 % of the PSPers out there like that style :-)

You'll find all different sorts of styles.

Personally, I really like to see someone try something new with their levels, and it seems that this is the sort of thing that you like. You like to see either a new story, or a new mechanic, or just something that makes the level feel fresh to you. The problem with having new mechanics is that the player needs to learn them, and maybe some people feel that the new mechanic is tedious because all that they want to do is run and jump, they don't want to sit around reading speech bubbles about how to use a drop ship or how to switch between the background and foreground.

So, there are levels for everyone on PSP. It is great because we have an awesome variety, but it also means that not every level will fall into your very favorite style. It's wonderful to hear that you have enjoyed at least one of my levels a lot, and I can certainly see where you are coming from with this post.

I think people who don't like your kinds of levels, still like your levels.

You got that right Cory! I can't stand RPG's, but every Poo level has enough cool ideas and jaw-dropping tech that I look forward to each one.

(Then I go play Jimmy's Room ten or so times, but still. )

I like Platformer levels over Puzzle type of levels.
Then again, I like to see the mechanics of a puzzle level rather than mechanics of a platformer level.
Mix them both together and you get Journey. I think...

I like all kinds of levels really. amazingflyingpoo's levels I think are great! And then there are other levels which are just kind of platforming with maybe a little story to it, such as tsr13 (or Taffeys) levels. I love those. And of course VelcroJonze, Spark, and Sketch. I just pretty much like any level out there if its great fun! Of course though, I have one thing that really makes me either love a level, or not really like it that much at all. Which are the visuals. If the level looks good, then I think its pretty amazing. Of course, this can't be said for all the levels out there. Some levels don't look amazing but are great fun to play. But I guess that's just me.

Great post man!
