Character Customization : A torso section isn't enough.
Archive: 28 posts
Hello It's just a detail, I would've liked to have posted it in Dan's thread, but it's locked now. So, have you ever wanted to have two separate sections, one for tops and shirts, and another for coats and jackets ? Mm (http://www.mediamolecule.com/) sells us costumes like Scott Shelby's clothes or Will Turner's , and their top do has two different colors. But us players can't customize this kind of costume with stickers, unless we want a Sackboy with a shirt and a jacket in the same color... Two separate sections would fix this problem, and we could have a category with (T-)shirts, and another with jackets. That's my two cents. | 2010-07-04 13:51:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
This is a grand idea. | 2010-07-05 05:23:00 Author: Unknown User |
This is a grand idea. Thanks I don't know whether it's that grand, but I think this would please many people. | 2010-07-05 10:55:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
Yes, I've been wanting this idea for a while. Even if its just a 'top layer' Like modnation racers have with all the same clothes in, and more. Personally I think the Tuxedo jacket from LBP1 would look excellent with a shirt under it. | 2010-07-05 11:01:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |

Yep, that what I was thinking about, some jackets would look way better this something under them | 2010-07-05 18:18:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
I agree...Jackets and Shirts would make a lot of customization options easier | 2010-07-05 18:24:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
I'd also prefer an ear section rather than them all in hats. So it's like wearing two hats kinda. | 2010-07-05 18:39:00 Author: Jord-bord Posts: 153 |
Yea I'm with you on this one! I'd love to sticker clothes like we do with material layers | 2010-07-05 19:36:00 Author: Chump Posts: 1712 |
Yea I'm with you on this one! I'd love to sticker clothes like we do with material layers Thanks Grant Yes, that would be awesome if we had as many stickers as clothes | 2010-07-06 09:20:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |

I agree they nned more customization areas like jackets and gloves | 2010-07-07 07:53:00 Author: Xero Space Posts: 249 |
They DO have gloves already, right? Anyway, my character is wearing an all-orange torso outfit and it seems kinda... plastic. If you know what I mean. If you could change the under layer of the jacket, that would be splendiferous! :SH: | 2010-07-07 15:00:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |
On the same note, I would like to be able to have gloves and hold stuff! | 2010-07-07 15:30:00 Author: javi haguse Posts: 744 |
On the same note, I would like to be able to have gloves and hold stuff! Yep ! That's right. I wish I could wear white gloves but also the fish from the Ragdoll Kunfu pack, with an orange sticker so it looks like a carrot (Bugs Bunny costume ) | 2010-07-11 12:05:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
i agree with this multiple sections idea would also like to add an idea i made a thread out of...which would be to have an [ModNationRacers/Soul Calibur 4] type of character customization where you could do palette swaps of colors....this would eliminate the NEED for stickers and most of our costumes would look SO MUCH BETTER AND DYNAMIC since they would be official coloring with the shading of the item rather then us plastering it with a huge red sticker and just getting that...the red sticker...blocking out the nice shading your costume piece had and breaking your costume making it look tacky and such | 2010-07-11 18:24:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
Yeah this is all true. Also, I wish we had a choice about having the zip. | 2010-07-11 18:54:00 Author: TehUberZac Posts: 587 |
very true.....at this point i hope Mm knows how badly we want a better sackboy customization mode...some of us aren't that good at level creating...so our creativity is expressed through our characters we make with the help of sackboy....and i just hope Mm does make a palette swap feature and some other stuff to make customizing sackboy not only MORE DETAILED...but also MORE FUN | 2010-07-11 20:42:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
Yeah, i dont want my Sackboy to be neon blue. There needs to be more specific colors. :SH: | 2010-07-11 21:31:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |
they should use the modnation system.... that would be the best | 2010-07-12 17:23:00 Author: Photon Man54 Posts: 47 |

Just like the blue sneakers that can change color according to the color of the menu Costumes would look way better, indeed. | 2010-07-13 08:16:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
Yes, a palette swap would be very useful ! Just like the blue sneakers that can change color according to the color of the menu Costumes would look way better, indeed. yes they would, and even our own community of creators could improve our TM sackboys to look more... "finesse" as a greater term to use so we're all in an agreement MM GIVE US PALETTE SWAP ABILITIES FOR OUR COSTUME PIECES | 2010-07-14 00:31:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
MM GIVE US PALETTE SWAP ABILITIES FOR OUR COSTUME PIECES I second that! Because we dont need pallet swapping Track Suits... :SH: | 2010-07-14 00:38:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |
That would be helpful, BUT... You can't compare LBP customization to MNR customization. When you put on a shirt in MNR, it's flat. When you put on a shirt in LBP, it's dynamic and has a unique texture. If they wanted to go backwards compatible with costumes, they wouldn't go adding some kind of layering feature. It wouldn't work. | 2010-07-14 04:09:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |

You have no idea how many times I've wished there was an option like this. | 2010-07-14 07:51:00 Author: Mastadom Posts: 195 |
......we're talking about a palette swap (changing colors) in our current and future costume pieces...not whatever it is you're talking about sir -_-; On the first page, there was a discussion about whether or not they should add make shirts and jackets seperate clothing categories. That would be like layering costumes on top of each other. | 2010-07-14 21:20:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Super hero costume hidden under real costumes anyone? | 2010-07-15 01:20:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |
On the first page, there was a discussion about whether or not they should add make shirts and jackets seperate clothing categories. That would be like layering costumes on top of each other. which is what Mm does with hair and certain hats....so i don't see what the problem is there....it's easy for them to make some hats and even some NEW helmets and hats go with some pieces of hair so it is possible to do so with the shirts...you'd just have to make a seperate category like how hair is one thing and helmets are another...so jackets/hoodies with shirts, tees, etc. same with using gloves with weapons and such...would be great....just need a seperate category | 2010-07-15 02:32:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
