Glitter Gulch Mines - [Music Level]AeroForce22
Glitter Gulch Mines' Theme from Banjo-Tooie (Rareware)
------------------------
Best quality with one person. This is a replica of the theme with LBP limitations. Enjoy! Keep an eye out for more music from me!
The level is now available online!

Ok, so I'm planning to recreate Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie when LBP2 comes out. So to get ready for it, I've decided to get to work on making some music that I want to place into the remake. I've started with Glitter Gulch Mines, and I must say, it sounds pretty much exact aside from bits of lag here and there due to high thermo usage, as well as the limitations of sounds objects present in LBP. I spent the majority of my time in this level on the timing of the notes. D: What a hassle. BK music tends to have a lot of triplets, which are fairly difficult to time. I managed though and I'm happy with the results. So in a nutshell:

- 11 hours on music creation. (Using the music board I made)
- 2 hours on visuals/level design.

Also note that I've tried multiple ideas/solutions for the ending where you have to jump to finish the level. Nothing worked. Hopefully jumping once isn't a level killer. D:

Here's some pics:

The entrance zone. Pretty much a title screen.

Visuals were pretty limited due to lag issues. Don't hate me. xD This is pretty much all you'll see aside from the ending and beginning of the level.

Level badge, which is why it's scrunched up in the middle. It's detonator Banjo!

Comparisons, for those of you that want to hear/see the real thing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UnlMwW8nyI - Notice that the song loops. That is why there's no true ending in the level itself.

I'm definitely going to be making more tracks. ;D Enjoy!

It was very cool. I've come to love the good ol' relaxing music levels. Just the thing to calm you down after playing shark survivals all day...

Anyway, very cool level!

Thanks you two. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^o^ It is rather relaxing when it's all piano. Be sure to tell others about it. ^^

Also, do either of you have F4F levels you'd like me to play?

That looks like Wall-e !!

xD I guess he does. Although I think it'd be safer to say Wall-E looks like Detonator Banjo seeing as how Banjo-Tooie was created in 1999 (I'm fairly certain that's when it was released). Then again, Pixar could have been working on Wall-E for who knows how long! It's still the only Pixar movie I need to see, aside from Toy Story 3. lol

And thanks for the recommendation talbot. ^o^ *hopes it helps*

Good job on the song, it was pretty basic, but I have mad respect for people who make these music levels. I make levels and I wouldn't have the freaking patience for this sort of thing.

Nicely done!

Thanks good sir. If there are any levels of yours you want me to F4F either now or in the future, I'd be more than glad to do so. ^o^

Just a little heads up as well: I plan to release another music level by Friday or sooner. This new level will consist of a bunch of "mini-tunes" found in Banjo-Kazooie/Banjo-Tooie. And by a bunch, I have 4 planned. And then I'll ask if anyone wants to hear more and I'll add them in gradually.

Thanks

If you're ever interested in seeing the music itself, I can go through the level and delete everything else so that just the music is there. ;D Just shoot me a friend request if you want to. :3 The other level certain doesn't have that problem. xD

I'll play your Shock Factory once I get on later today. Sounds interesting.

I've played it and it was the best music level I've played in terms of visuals. Although it could use a bit more if the Thermo isn't already full 5 stars2010-07-10 23:20:00

I would add more, but then lag would become a huge issue. (I originally planned for hanging crystals on the ceiling, but after seeing lag issue after just the bottom, I scrapped it.) Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the level.2010-07-10 23:39:00

For a music level this was pretty good. I never played Banjo Kazooie (N64 right?) but this song was pretty sweet. The song didn't skip at all to me. The visuals were pretty bland but Im guessing most of your thermometer went to the switches. My brother and I thought it was pretty cool overall. We gave it 5 stars. If your stil doing feedback could you play my level Kinetic Crisis. The link is in my signature.2010-07-11 00:01:00

I'd love to play your level. ^o^ Thanks for the feedback. I've noticed a drop in lag lately and I'm not quite sure why that just happened all of a sudden.2010-07-11 20:38:00

Well, first all the song was darn near perfect Like really, great job on the timing and everything

Second, while the visuals were lacking, they fit the theme of the song perfectly and were much more enjoyable to see than the level ground and cardboard

The one jump at the end by no means ruins the level BTW. It's really not that annoying lol

All in all :star::star::star::star::star: Great job!
Could you check out my level Wasteland Bunker? There is a link to the thread for it in my sig.

Great music level. Although you need to somehow added more visuals as we ride on the mine cart and seeing things, the music really sounded like the one from Banjo-Tooie. 5 stars.

Play and F4F "The Hero Chronicles LV4 The Lost Lagoon" if you can.

Hey, my first thoughts were that you opening was very beautiful. Obvious time put in there, with the rock-faced letters really standing out to me. As far as the rest of the level I feel I lack the authority to judge the accuracy of you tune, having never played BK myself. (yeah, sorry, only recently got into the platforming scene) However from what I could tell, the song played very smoothly and sounded beautiful. Keep up the good work and thanks for your review!2010-07-22 22:36:00
