Flaming cave machinery racenapero7
So you are in a cave, that is filled with flaming floors and other stuff... and you have to race!
It's not hard or anything but hopefully you all will want to get the best score!
Get ready for überhigh-quality pics!

Oh, this is my first real level on the PSP... but don't judge me as a noob creator because of that, if you think this level sucks, please say so and tell me why.

If you are wondering why there are no bubbles, it is because all the ledges are steep, and the bubbles would be impossible to glue down because of the moving parts. Also, the level is way too glitchy in create mode already, when I accidentally move the big parts, all the motor bolts disappear and such fun stuff...

For you who review this and want F4F, I'll do it but it may take a week or two, depending on when my family starts our bike-tour through Finland, but I'll do it after that if not before
Also, if you have a psp but want some feedback on a PS3 level, that is also totally possible.

Hello napero7 !!

Welcome to the psp side!!

Great race level. I really had a blast running through your level as fast as I could. You level designs were killer too, so everything flowed very well. The platforming was sweet too. I loved every jump and landing I made. This is one of the best race levels I have played in long time. You did not use a lot of stickers but that is okay. I don't uses many myself in creating. Your choice of materials and your corner editing were so good, you did not need a bunch of stickers!!

Great first level..... I mean great first psp level!! Can I ask, what do you like creating on more, psp or ps3? I have I ps3 but only create on psp for some reason.

I gave you five stars and a heart and onefor creator too. <3

Great job!!

As far as f4f goes, just pick one of my levels out of my signature and leave feedback when ever you can, it's no rush.

Later....

Hey Napero,

Wow, you gave us such a great level. And it's your first on the PSP, most PS3 users would be so frustrated in create mode on the PSP. But, you did an excellent job with platforming and level design. Corner editing skill are great and materials chosen looked simple, but looked really great together. There were a lot of jumps, and well..that was basically the platforming part, but I loved every part of it. Boy, I bet you could make another awesome platformer with more to it than jumping. Nicely done. Here's your :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3.

Hello, napero.

It's for the first time that I became heated in a time attack so much.
There were highlights at the various places, and your level was very clean.
Even though your record is wonderful.
By no means it's exceeded.
This level is really wonderful.

Thank you
I never said I wasn't frustrated... but I managed to do it either way because I wasn't near a PS3 for a while when I started.
There are 4 or 5 materials, I'm not sure, I decided to generally use one material in the back layer and one in the front layer, and then random materials in the thin layers, aaand that dark material in the back to give a cave feel to it.
The corner editing is actually quite fun to do, although I could have used a few more blocks at some parts, when corner editing them the PSP lags a lot and it even crashed twice...

It was supposed to be more of a level than a race, but I just went wild with the mechanical moving parts and then I realized that they were in the way for me to add any gameplay elements or bubbles, even placing that race gate in there was a lot harder than you might think.

I think the point is to have everyone try many times to get a better score, and looks like I succeeded
My own score is just a quick run-through, maybe I should improve that.

Thank you!
I thought about using stickers but then I thought that most of them wouldn't do much, it's a cave after all, you can't expect much in a cave. I did however use some shading stickers here and there and then those orange dot things on the mechanical parts. And then there is that flame sticker when you are in the middle going past the giant wheel... it was supposed to be some kind of a key element in the level but then it became a race and that part was kinda useless, but it looks nice

So, thank you all for you feedback, I'll get around to play some of your levels, even if you wouldn't have asked for any feedback in return

EDIT: There are some sneaky shortcuts that even I didn't realize when building, they can cut you a second or two, but are kinda hard to ace. I now have a serious result, which also happens to be number 1 on the high score list

EDIT2: Now I managed to do a "perfect" run, some jumps could be just a little faster but other than that it was perfect for me, the moving platform near the end was just right The new score to beat is 290721

Hey napero7,

Congratulations on the Spotlight nod! I loved the visual design and flow of this level, but I would've liked to see more innovation and originality in gameplay. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic level, and I look forward to playing more of your creations.

Thank you everyone I'll get around to play your levels when I'm back home (I'm at my grandparents summerhouse now)
Also a big thanks for the spotlight nod, I didn't expect that

I know the visuals aren't very good, but it's a cave, you can't expect much in a cave. The machinery however is kinda boring, I didn't bother to make any cool machinery things, just stars and that stuff...
I could go and recreate some of the stuff to make it look better... but why not make a new level from scratch, I think more people would enjoy that

Hiya-

First off, welcome to the PSP side of things.

I liked your level a lot visually, but maybe next time try to have more of a variety in gameplay, instead of just mostly jumping to places. Also, if you ever make another level, adding points and a race makes it a whole lot more fun. Other than that, good job man!!

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star:.

Played it now. Came in 5th on first try! Probably would have been faster, if I hadn't tried to grab some of those stars.. x D I thought they were grabable. I enjoyed the look of the level, especially the fire and the stars.2010-07-15 12:31:00

Thank you everyone I feel lazy this time so I'll only play those levels that were requested, which is one level...

Also, you may expect something VERY AWESOMELY ?BERCOOL in the near future, I happened to start a new level while I was away... and this one will be a real level, not a race...
Oh did I say level? I meant level series!
Get ready to search for the LOST GOLD in a desert city... I think I said too much...
I like to tease you, see that?
