Guide to adding music to your profile

Archive: 22 posts

Alright, I found this fairly hard to make work at first, but I've got it figured.

Note: Must be done in Editor Mode (Advanced). If you don't know how to get there, head to the bottom of the post.

Music Tutorial

First, go to your profile, and hover over "Profile". A drop down menu should appear. Then click "Add new blocks".

Then you need to add the XSPF Music Player one.

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t88/Smithy939/2.jpg

Then, you need to go over to www.playlist.com (http://www.playlist.com)

Once there, go to the searchbar, and find the song you want.

Then click the play icon, next to it, to check that it works, and it is the version you want.

Then find the link (Check images). If the link is too long, you have to click on "View Site". Then take the link from there.

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t88/Smithy939/05.jpg

Then copy that link, and go back to your profile. Find the block where it says "XSPF Music Player", and click on the Spanner / Wrench in the top right corner.

Then you go to the first slot, and Paste the link you just copied into the * URL to MP3 space.

Then just input the rest of the info yourself, and you should be done!

Remember to go back to Normal mode and check that the songs do actually play, because I know that some don't work..

EDITOR MODE :

Simply, just hover over the "Profile" with the drop down box, and select "Editor Mode (Advanced)

For some reason the Artist and Track name is coming up as UNDEFINED even though I entered in the Artist and Track information.2008-10-11 19:41:00

Erm, I'm not sure :S?

Try searching just the title, or the authors name and then look for the song through the list of tracks?

I already got the music off of playlist.com. It's the information in my Music block that reads as UNTITLED.

Heh, they probably didn't become known enough in America, although from what I've read it seems like that's where they were most popular. Even more than Australia.2008-10-12 08:51:00

I'm pretty ticked, I just found 5 really awesome songs, put every single info, even an album picture. and when I clicked to save changes. Boom, 404 Error found, I tried going back, "Website has expired" So, yes all my songs disappeared now I have to do it again, anyone know what happened? 2008-10-12 10:44:00
