Can't get pictures off of my PS3
Archive: 8 posts
I have been trying to get some of my screen shots off LBP. In the popit I went to the pictures and did an "Upload" as well as the "Write to HD". So then I exit the game and go to the photos and they are there like I expect they should be. Now I select that folder and press the triangle for options and select "Copy". It then prompts me to insert the destination device. So, I plug in the USB Stick and a little busy circle pops up in the top left of the screen. I thought that was doing the writing but upon inspection later there is nothing on the USB Stick. Any idea what I am I doing wrong? Ted | 2010-06-30 13:58:00 Author: Muskwa_1 Posts: 213 |
Plug in the USB first, ensure that it reads it and shows it as an attached device. Then do the copy and choose the USB drive. Also, when you do the copy it will say something like "There are pictures here with the same name, overwrite or change name?" You want to choose change name, that way it'll just name them picture 1, picture 2, etc. | 2010-06-30 14:05:00 Author: RSQViper Posts: 302 |
[QUOTE=RSQViper;512482]Plug in the USB first, ensure that it reads it and shows it as an attached device./QUOTE] I see nowhere to set up the device so how do I do that? Ted | 2010-06-30 14:28:00 Author: Muskwa_1 Posts: 213 |
If you can access the USB, that means that is ready for use. I say plug it in first (without anything open) and then go to photos, etc. If it doesn't work, it might be the USB then... | 2010-06-30 14:38:00 Author: javi haguse Posts: 744 |

It is the USB Stick I use everyday to bring data home from work so I know it works. I have tried it on 2 PS3's that I have at home and there is no indication that they even see it. I will try another USB Stick and see if that solves the problem. Ted | 2010-06-30 16:46:00 Author: Muskwa_1 Posts: 213 |
I have tried it on 2 PS3's that I have at home and there is no indication that they even see it. Probably a filesystem issue. You have to format the stick as FAT32 not NTFS for the PS3 to be able to read it. | 2010-06-30 18:51:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

I just checked and the USB Stick is formated to NTFS. I will reformat it to FAT32 and see. I am sure now that you mention it that that is the problem. Thanks Aya..
