"Boss Health" Template

Archive: 5 posts

I began having the idea of creating this template a while after playing DKC, and it suddenly popped into me the thought of recreating one of my favorite bosses, namely Master Necky (I'll probably never complete this, seeing as I can't find a way to make something bounce like a beach ball). Afterwards, I suddenly thought of an way to make an object that has "health" sort to speak. It's pretty much a simple logic setup made with the power of gravity, force, friction, and pushy-thingies combined together to make a health bar tied to a single switch. The same setup can also be altered a bit to give sackboy "lives".

There's also a simple example in a sepreate level titled "Boss Health Example" showing how the setup could work, but that level is riddled with glitches, frustration overdoses, and apparently the aroma of fresh-baked donuts. Take note that this is just a quick setup made in 2 hours of testing only to show the possibilites of the logic system.

Or you could just make a simple dissolve bar. Make a bunch of blocks of dissolve, place them on top of another. Put a mag switch on each block to dissolve each block seperately. And then have a piston with a mag key on the end that pushes the mag key close to the dissolve when you hurt the boss.

So much easier.

Check out this level: --------- by je3sbc

It won't explain much at all ( It's in another language, so everything is replace with underscores or dashes? ), but Silver got everything down on his post.
