this is OLD...

Thank you for that delightful post, I'm sure we all benefited from the fact you saw this somewhere before and wished to broadcast that fact for all to see

So... pins. LBP is getting achievements for sure. Have MM opened a Pandora's box? :kz: I like the concept, but I know many here don't.

I'm on the fence when it comes to the pins. For me, only time will tell.2010-06-28 21:08:00

I hear there?s an iPhone app in the works. I don't think that has been announced yet?
Well, LBP.me itself will work in mobile browsers and we?re going to do a mobile browser version and I?m sure the apps will follow. Let?s just put it that way.

Nice!!

Thanks for sharing the link!!

Pins sound cool, if people don't cheat their way into getting them. I love how they've not only made pins for the obvious 'how many hearts I have', but also for things like how many people look at my hearted levels to find something to play. That is information we can actually use. Thanks, silver.2010-06-28 21:44:00

I was watching one guy use vertex mode in the most awesomely fluid way. He was making these curves and I was like ‘whoa! I didn’t even know you could do that!’Vertex mode? Is this just fancy British talk for the corner editor?

Oh, and thanks for the (relatively new, not OLD as others have stated) link! Adding it to the list.

So what happens if someone makes you warp between two levels constantly...?

Also, it's bad enough when creators place keys to their other levels everywhere in each of their levels... now imagine what those people will do with level links.

You press start then return to pod.

It may tell you you're about to be transferred to another level, and ask if you want to go ahead...

You press start then return to pod.
You can't pause during the loading/white screen though...

It may tell you you're about to be transferred to another level, and ask if you want to go ahead...
That makes the most sense- it's probably what Mm is doing.

Yeah, I thought about the key thing to when I saw the level links.

"You can say whether or not they have to dive into it, or if they can choose to do it. That’s a little tiny thing that I think the community are going to run with."

Uh-oh.

Oh probably.

There's some clich? saying about getting rid of one evil (H4H) leaves a void for another to take its place.

Given MM's track record, I'm not going to hold my breath and assume they've thought everything out before throwing it into the game.

In the interview I believe that he said that you can be forced.

Wow, both the pins and the way you can customize your planet excited me.

Imagine you have a level series that has tons of environments in it. So you place down each level in a nice little path, then you customize the continent they are on, and make it look like some sort of map. It would be awesome!

I bet there will be a lot of people (Me included) who will be going for all those pins!

Yes! Planet customizing
I dont quite get this 'pins' thing though, are they like an in game version of the PS3 trophies? Hope we can design are own if it is

So, you can force teleporting levels mid level?
So at the start of my time machine series, I could have a level where you get in the time machine, pick a level to go to (not locked ones, of course!), and when the doors close I can make them go to the selected level, and start at the first checkpoint?

As bad as having players instantly transported into other levels can seem, it also opens up opportunities for some epic and mostly seamless level chains.2010-06-29 10:39:00

So if I take you into a level that instantly transfers you to another and back continuously you won't mind eh?

I'd gladly go through such a nasty experience if in the other hand that grants me the ability to do seamless level transitions. Though, in all honesty, I believe Mm wont overlook that.
Something that it'd very much like to know its if we could keep the player watching a cutscene WHILE we transfer from one level to another.

@Matimoo You can't customize pins. You can only unlock them.

@Keldur Alex said that it would fade to white, and I would expect a loading screen, so I think that you probably can't make a seamless cutscene

It's also likely MM will allow players to keep some level of control through those transitions, such as being able to hit the start menu to go back to pod. I mean, while loading a level from the pod you still have a lot of control, so this wouldn't be any different.2010-06-30 07:27:00

Too bad you can't customize pins
It would've been really cool to have been able to put them in your levels and games. (Sort of like mini-trophies) :/

You mean like roblox? (if you ever played it) if you finish a task you will get a trophie/pin/award that the creator made

Also, what happens if your about to change level through the level link and you get the "Failed to Load" message. I spose it just asks you to retry... (till it works)2010-06-30 10:52:00
