Yeah, About My Life...

Archive: 15 posts

Okay, for those of you wondering "Why post 'I lost my profile!' in a contest thread?", it's because I originally said I'm making the level based on my house (and maybe a few other contenders' houses... with permission of course) from that specific thread. Sadly, the Howl's Spirited Castle series is on hold due to my life, which I hate (see my little comment under my name).

Before you start asking me questions... oh wait, too late. Well, let me give you an update on things in:

The Daily Gadder

Introduction
That's right! The Mafia game newspaper is now my personal announcement paper! Bringing you things that will probably affect you in ways you didn't know. Let's get started.

CyberSora's PSP Problem
I caught up with myself and asked "How did this happened?" CyberSora responded with his story.

"Sadly I cannot say it was entirely my PSP's fault. It was actually mine. For you see, I was trying to find glitches in LittleBigPlanet PSP by doing just about everything possible! So what caused the crash was the PS3's favorite hidden costume: the Skeleton Costume. Only I was trying to see if I can have Sackboy have an electric costume. So I pulled my Memory Stick out of the game when saving the costume (to represent the 'Turn off the controller' step) and it ended up saying 'Cannot read Memory Stick.' Try as I might, I couldn't make it read, so I quit the game. Big mistake. So yeah, goodbye profile. "

My advise readers: BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!

What Happened Later
Further questioning revealed an emo CyberSora's depressing story of how badly his day was.

"I can't believe that this happened. I lost my other Memory Stick, which holds my back up data. Ironically, the corrupted data was intended to be the back up data, but I kind of got attached to that one instead."

Only today did he find his Memory Stick and had his back up profile back.

"It's still a suck-ish day for me, because this data is old, meaning all my other projects are gone, with others in this data still being started on. Overall, I'm going to have a very big delay in production."

Ouch.

Other Related News
Yes, the crisis doesn't end there. I ask CyberSora what other things is going on, and turns out it was only the beginning of bad days.

"Just a few days ago my PS3 broke. Now my profile is corrupted. So yeah, and that that together and my life is screwed. Seriously, my PS3 just finished being repaired for an YLOD, now this? AGAIN!? Not to mention that my other lost level, Down In The Sewers, is corrupted, AGAIN!!! Really, LBP hates me in a way."

Dang, and just when you think it can get worse, CyberSora reveals he's thinking of leaving the website... for good.

"Honestly, I love the game [LittleBigPlanet] and I love the site, but when you don't have one or the other, it's not really fun to any of the two at all. I know I always say cheesy things like "You can never miss if you don't take the shot.", but that's different. My profile has gone corrupted, my level's gone corrupted twice, and my PS3 is once again in need of another $200 repair. I'm not really sure I can be apart of a site that's filled with people who's passion has no road blocks like mine. Sure, maybe they do have a problem or so, but I think mine has more "difficulties". If you must know, I'm currently building another room in my house, and the construction worker we hired isn't helping much. He keeps asking for the money early, and quite frankly we've been doing more work than him! So yeah, during the day I'm building the room, then at 6:00 PM or something, he shows up to do the rest. So I'm not too sure if I'm capable of LBP anymore."

The Future
I ask the final and most important question: Do you realize you're in TWO projects with other people? How will they be affected?

"Honestly, I don't think they'll miss me. Yeah, I love the hospitality, but they're better at creating than me. VelcroJonze joined later than me, and yet he's dominating the Spotlights more than I could've done in the almost-one-year I've been here. Like I said before, I love LBP. I love Creating. But when I'm on this site, I love to communicate more than Create. So I might have been juggling 2 Community projects and 5+ personal projects, but half of the time I could have been Creating was spent with these people. So no regrets here. In fact, I'm glad that if I leave, I'll leave behind a pretty good reputation. "

With that said, CyberSora is still pondering on his decision to leave or not. This has CyberSora, your local reporter.

This is NOT me.

Here I am, sitting in a cell phone waiting area in my car at the airport, and this pops up on my iPhone. Lacking the ability to type something more lengthy and/or profound, I can only say:

I know how life can come at you from all directions, so just keep your head up and take it all one day at a time. Remember, a lot of us aren't just in-game friends; we're actual friends - we'll always be here for you CS. Take a break, work on your house, and do what you need to do... but don't forget to post a random image for us all from time to time.

Yeah, that's the weird thing. I'm actually a little bit concerned about leaving. I don't want to leave just when I finished saying things like "New levels coming in July!", not to mention the projects we're doing. So I'm still deciding on that decision.

Hey CS,

I'm so sorry to hear this. Please don't leave, I can't bear to hear the very last "Peace."

Taffey is right, this forum is more than just a game--it's a network of real-life friends, and I'm here for you if you need me. Take some time off if you need to, but don't say goodbye. And please don't feel like you need to make something in-game to be part of this community. Sharing your awesome ideas and making us laugh is enough to be part of the LBP family. Whatever your decision, just know that I'm here, and I'm sure many others will be, for support.

Plus, if you leave, then who's going to protect me from B3?

Refusing to hear the last "Peace,"

EDIT: No! Why is everyone already saying goodbye? The man hasn't made a decision yet people...please don't encourage him!

Don't leave CS!
Since your data corrupt you may as well start afresh in the lbp create mode. I mean even if you dont want to or have time to play lbp, youre still most welcome here. I know we'd all miss you, and lbpc isnt just about lbp sharing. Its about meeting new people, making friends and just hanging out with amazing ppl. And trust me, you are all amazing. Ive been a member of alot of forums in the past and i have to be honest here, they have nothing on this place

You're a great kid. Oh wait, you're older than me....uhh, so just to let you know I look up to you man, I look up to every great creator on this site, and in LBP.

It would be a shame if you leave. If you do decide to go, just know that there are creators, not part of this site, who think you're awesome. Those creator hearts you get, are hearts of people who love you and your levels. So don't think you're not a good creator. That's all I really have to say, we're not forcing you to stay. The decision is all up to you.

Remember, "A Creator's Mind Is As Creative As He Wishes It To Be" so no one is better than creating than anyone in my case.

Well thanks guys. Right now I'm using the PSP (I want to try to get back some in game prizes from LBP tonight) so I cant write much. But I will say this wasnt what I was expecting. Honestly, I thought the usual "Take care." would come. Now I feel, "wierd"?

:blush:

I was hoping this wouldnt turn into a MrsSpookyBuz thing (who am I kidding comparing with her? She's awesome! ). This is slightly like it.

So yeah, I'll sleep on it and respond better tomorrow.

@jeffcu28
Wait for it...

Peace

OH NOZ! This is terrible! CS, you have been an integral member of the PSP community for as long as I can remember! Even if you do decide to leave (and I am strongly hoping that you don't!!!), you need to at least realize one thing, and that is that you should not compare yourself to other creators!

If I was going to compare myself to someone like VJ based only on the speed at which he can publish quality levels then I would say that I am a pretty miserable creator as well. I think that I had about a 2.5 to 3 month gap between Lost at Sea and Shallow Springs, and another 3 month gap between Destiny and Here and There. So, that must mean I am an awful creator, huh? Because during the time that it took me to make one level, VJ could publish 3 or 4.

Well, I would strongly disagree! Seeing levels like Sackboy Plays LBP PSP shows that you are not just interest in making a straightforward level, but rather that you are interested in breaking the mold and trying something new. I am all about trying something new, and I would much prefer to see someone trying something new than seeing 10 awesome regular platformers. I suppose that that is why I spend so much time working on levels just so that I can try to implement a new mechanic. So, does that make me a bad creator? Should I just give up and make platformers? I don't think so! And you shouldn't be bashing yourself as a creator because it takes you a while to make a level! You have proven that you are a creator who is on par with VJ and the rest of us, and I don't want to hear you saying otherwise!

Alright, that is my rant/pep-talk We all highly respect both you and VJ, and I believe that we respect you for different reasons. If you strived to be like eachother, then we would be left with 2 authors who are striving to be something that they are not instead of two incredible, unique authors.

(First off, it's so odd to be responding to a paper that just proclaimed my death. I'll say it again: GOD ***** SERIAL KILLER!)

CyberSora, please don't leave. From the moment I got here in my super-elitist self, you knew the exact can of whoop-*ss to open up on me, and I knew this was a site where at the very least, people were willing to have a reasoned debate. From then on, we were exchanging rants (thestill idiotic decison to remove neg. rep), sometimes on the same side, sometimes not. Moving forward, you're one of the three people who still cares about the "Layrbrinth". In fact, I'm pretty sure I would have killed it without you being there. So as others have said, take a break, catch up on LBP, but please don't leave us.

How can I miss this thread!?!?

CyberSora, I don't think you should leave the site at all. There may be a lot for you coming in life, but just deal with it whenever you can. Restarting your profile is not fun, but I would take that chance to do it. All your fans (Including Me) will be disappointed to see no more levels coming from you. When I first playes Sackboy Plays LBP PSP, I was deeply impressed and I had to heart you right away.
You were also a very great creator on corner editing such as the Black Roses Picture Frame. Not only was the level good, but it was humorous. You make good jokes and seeing as you leave is like losing a good friend. Lastly CyberSora, I hope you make the correct decision.

Hey a while ago I took my memory stick out and put it ack in again to discover that it couldn't read it. i took it out and put it back in again and did a re-start and that sorted the problem. why dont you you try it? it takes a couple of seconds to do but if if works for you then that would be superb.
ps I may back up my data again and try to see if I can get an electric costume in tyhe way you tried

Aww, thanks guys. But still, I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do. I tried sleeping on it, only to have a dream of a kid crying in my head. Maybe that's my conscious or something. :/

Anyways, here's some Q&A:

Why did you make this thread?
Simple. I am taking a break. I'm not technically getting off the site for good, but it does mean I'm going to be gone for a while. So with that, I don't want to be assigned any certain task from The Great Labyrinth or [We're sorry, but due to copyright reasons, this name is now banned from public viewing. Thank you, and have a nice day.] or anything for that matter.

But you said you were leaving.
That's where I was getting at. While yes I'm on a break from everything, I'm thinking of whether I should just make that break temporary, or permanent. Right now, I'm going back and forth on this, mainly because I was leaning on "permanent" a lot until I saw what happens when you make a goodbye thread. Yeah, nuff said.

What about LBP?
I'll be Creating, trust me. This I can go on. It's LBPCentral that's more like my "problem", I think. It's hard to explain, but LBPC is like... a "drug" (:eek. LBP itself is just a game. When I Create, I can stop just like that, and that's perfect considering that I need to stop Creating and start working on the extra room in my house. But LBPC doesn't have "Rewind" and "Pause" buttons. It's always moving foward, so when I come here I find more unexpected things. Fun things. So it's hard to stop just like that when you want to post "LOL" on your favorite thread. LBPC is pretty much addicting, and I can go on for hours end here, which is something that is keeping me from completing many of my personal things (umm... room?). So yeah, I'm going sober for now.

And now, for the response time (this is going to take a while :blush.

@Taffey
I never said you were my friend. Quite frankly, I consider every member my friend. It's just that I'm not sure someone online can magically help out here in the real world. I know, "Harsh aren't you Cyber?", well yes, but I do have to do things here, and I sadly took on too many things at one time. What I'm saying is I bit more than I can chew, so now I must put this "want" (LBPC) away and focus on my "need" (my current life situations).

Oh, and sorry for messing up your flight. I probably should have waited after you landed or something.

@Silverleon
Thanks for that. I never knew you stalked the LBP PSP section too.

@himoks
Thanks. Nuff said.

@jeffcu28
Why did I ave a feeling you'll show up? Hmm....

Anyways, I know I don't have to say goodbye, but maybe it might be better for me. I never told you guys this, but I did leave once, but that was way back then. I was bored of LBP, Modern Warfare 2 took over my life, and I was happy with that decision. The only thing that brought me was LBP PSP. But seeing that even that game my projects are gone, along with my other materials, it's going to be hard to find another reason to come back. Don't get me wrong, friends are good enough, but not when everybody around you is talking about a game you're not playing a lot anymore.

Oh, and I wouldn't say that their goodbyes are driving me away. Oddly enough, it's actually making me stay a bit more, like a "regret" thing.

@ali985
Thanks again for that comment. Yes it does suck to get my materials back, but it's not just that. It's just the fact I have bad luck lately. Yes, bad luck. My PS3 crashed twice in one year. Same for the PSP. So that factor is keeping me from trying my luck again on fixing my PS3 or PSP's "Cyber Bug" (my new bad luck nickname).

@TheNerd
Thanks kid... or guy... someone....

I know I shouldn't compare to others, but I'm just a "One Hit Wonder!", and that's it. So the thing is I'm trying to make more levels, but my PSP is trying to keep that "OHW" title by crashing on me time to time. So it's a frustrating Tug-O-War that I'm considering taking on during my break.

@amazingflyingpoo
OH NOEZ! I made an amazingcryingpoo!

Sorry for teasing you, or making you feel like a bad creator. I'm not saying everybody has to be compared to each other, I was only saying that I'm not the best candidate for project worthiness, seeing that my time gaps come out unsuccessful. Honestly, your 3 months gap levels are so worth the wait.

@BlueBulletBill
It's not at all wierd to respond to a paper who just proclaimed your death. It's very common to here people rant that the misspelled their name.

Well, just like I said before, I consider everybody my friend. As I remember correctly, everybody used to think you trolled on about FullMoon because you were a troll, yet I was one of the first to be your rant buddy. Isn't ironic that you're accusing of new members being trolls now. It's funny what this site does to a person (which is why I encourage people to give others time to get used to this site). So yeah, no matter what, I will become friends with just about anybody (have you seen my friends? Some of them were people I used to constantly argue with over PMs, threads, etc..). So don't worry, I know you'll find some new rant buddy.

@himoks (Again?)
That's why there's Edit. Yeah, I'm being mean. Just go with the flow.

@Spark151
Thanks. That isn't the first I time I was told I was funny you know. And yes, my Corner Editing skills are- /ego snipe.

@unXpectid
NO! DON"T DO IT! Thank God I caught you in time, you really are an unexpected person (pun intended). I'll be your angel for today and tell you this:

"For every time you put your profile at risk, an angel cries."

Seriously, don't do it. If it's because of me, then I'm sorry for the subliminal message.

Peace
