Special thanks:

First of all C_McKamey, he has been around in the editor when this level got its first few shapes and massively helped me with the logic and certain elements in the boiler room.
(Cart elevator and a few other adjescent objects).
He almost spends more time in my editor than I do

Big hug for Adi for taking the time to make me the trailer so if you have any cookies left, please send Adi a few!

My friends and family for putting up with me playing lbp way to much.

all the fans, friends and fellow creators that dropped by to awe at the level and keep my spirits up!

Enjoy!
Any comments, reviews and head-up's for problems in-game are appreciated!
I would also like to know what you people think of the conversations in-game.

Extra's
My biggest level so far.. yet again.
Some unexpected moments.
Small hidden spots with score bubbles.
Unique twist to the mine theme.
Massive love has been put into the cams, sounds and lighting.
Every object you will see in the level is original and self created. (if not, its been created by C_M)
Mono Caterpillar.
Build time level 6 part 1: Lost track after a few weeks. (lots has happened)

Please note:
The camera's work the best when this level is played with 1 player,
but can easily hold 4 players without too much trouble gameplay/camera wise.
The ants you find are NOT AMBER!! (fanboys all thought it was Amber lol.. while they dont even look like Amber).

Also, in the boiler room there is a "Master reset" switch,
which will allow you to reset the boilers if you really weally mess up the carts/carriages/coals.
Dont use it unless you did mess up.

Hints and Tips
(only read if you are stuck, which should not be the case if you have half a set of brains

Room1: Push cart onto counterweight.
Room2: Be sure to use and check all layers, some buildings have multiple entrances.
Room3: Grab onto the sackapillar!
Room 4 (room 2 cont.): Push cart onto counterweight.
Room 5: nothing to mention.
Room 6: mutliple paths leading to same cave.
Room 7: Push cart.
Room 8: Some carefull and timed jumping will get you where you want to, also notice the cart near ceiling!
Room 9: Carts can be grabbed, carts can use elevator.
Put cart filled with coal under boiler.
Rotate valves, fill tanks and boiler with water.
Find the elevator.
Dont hit the master reset!
Room 10: Talk to Mono.
Room 11: end.

Level publish delayed due to server outage.

He won't admit it but i think Aya's recently published glitch level melted the MM servers.

Fantastic atmospheric stuff, as usual.

Really liked how your puzzlegameplay is integrated into that beautifull scenery. Jumping over lavastreams, climbing through mining shacks, falling down collapsing structures, riding mining carts, starting Luos & Clay-generators...
Not a dull moment in sight: this level is enjoyable from beginning to end.

EDIT: ok i got one boiler working but i can't get the lift to work again, i only got it to work the first time after dozens of tries, lights green

Hello-

I would agree that this is your best level from the Sack the legendary series yet, they keep getting better and better! It also felt a bit different from all of your other ones, with a more open world sort of feel. The visuals in this one were superb, there was details on top of more details. I pretty much loved everything in this level, there's not much else to say. Excellent job!

I rated the level :star::star::star::star::star: and <3ed the level.

I dont agree, but I am doing my best.

Didnt the cart-lift raise itself when you pulled the switch?
Worst case, add me and ill guide you through!

On a sidenote,
Level 6-2 will also be mine/lava-themed, Mono will play a really big part and the minecarts will get more additions/powerups/modification for a lot of various (even better) minecart gameplay.
Im not telling anything more.

oh sidenote 2:
Ill release a nice logicpack in a week or so.

I think there was an issue with publishing an older version of the level. I just played through again though and all is correct now it seems.

like.. forgetting to remove a certain wire from a certain checkpoint after you are done testing

After that I can still remove the cave/temple tutorial levels as Adi has them on his psn as well.
So no worries there!

Hey dude I just play your level and let me tell you you have done it again. This one is incredible I love it the fire and using the glowing lava rock is magnificent and the building with holes in it just gave it that little extra. Also the puzzle with the boiler room it was difficult turning 5 pipe and then getting the small car put the fire inside it and the take it to crack but that part was incredible I wouldn't change it for anything. Also I love the new character what is his name again noma the sackapiller correct me if im wrong, that character represent my brother in so many ways he is big and he was a little lazy and he sleeps a lot. I love the way everything works together the platform of the game fantastic and the music and puzzle were fantastic.

Overall score

Platform: :star::star::star::star::star:
Music: :star::star::star::star::star:
visualization: :star::star::star::star::star:
puzzle/ gameplay: :star::star::star::star::star:

overall I gave this level a :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart <3 keep the good work up I will be looking forward to part 7

Okay, I left a comment saying I had reset/mine cart problems, but I'm to start with the level.

Simply put, the level was amazing! I really haven't seen a level like this in quite a while. It was serious, but still had its less-formal points when you'd see a little (or big) insect (or bug, or whatever they are). You used the inclusion of the insects just the right amount. The big puzzles and the platforming in and in bewteen the puzzles was as fantastic as the puzzles themselves. And that collapsing building?! That was one really epic moment in this level. I got a little tingle when that whole thing began to fall. I was just thinking, Oh... Dang! I haven't even gotten into way this level looks and is designed, but do I really have to? It was just beautiful all the way around. And then... I got to the boiler room.

The Boiler Room: *Cue scary music*
Well, up until this point the level was amazing and even during this big puzzle it was amazing. But I ran into trouble... I spawned the mine cart, then went off to do all the other stuff I needed to do. In the proccess, I found a visible mag key! It's probably been seen before though. It's on the very, very top of the right bolier. It's on a porthole for whatever reason... Alright, back to the puzzle problems. After I did all that I needed to do, I went to the cart and pulled the lever. It sent the cart into that spot to get coal and a bucket on it. The coal got put in the cart, and then it never came back to me. It just sat there and I didn't know what to do with it. I tried to grab it and pull it out, but I died. So, I had the brilliant thought that I may need two carts! One for each boiler, you know? So I spawned that one, I got jammed under the lift. So now, the lift couldn't go down even if it would try. Then I go up the the reset and pull it, go back down, and see that the jammed cart is still there. Then I quit. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it would've worked if I would've pulled the reset again. I'm not sure, I probably would've now that I think about it. So... the point is, maybe not allow another cart to be spawned while the one is doing its job getting coal?

Well, there it is. Fun, amazing, spectacular level; I just had problems with the boiler puzzle. There's probably a simple explanation, but I really have no clue... Haha!

Thanks Arnald for the almost overly positive comment

@ piggy,
consider that key fixed next time I am online.

If the cart is back on the lift after the coal is in the carriage,
all you should do is pull the lift switch again and make it move down.
If you do pull the master reset, it should automatically lower the lift again,
if the cart is in the way you can try to emit a new cart, removing the one that got stuck (make sure it doesnt get in the way of the lift again) and pull the master reset again.

Might have to try myself to see what went wrong though.
Sorry for the inconvienience.

Well, the cart got stuck underneath the coal depositer. Not actually on the lift... The cart never returned to its position on the lift. I don't know if that makes a difference though... It was just confusing... Haha! :blush:2010-06-30 17:13:00

We have played the level many many times, and tested the carriage/coal dispenser more times than we can count,
also havent been able to recreate that situation so far.

Same thing here. The cart went across the top where the body dropped on it, then came back and stopped where the coal dropped in it and then it never moved again. I waited a few minutes but nothing happened so I quit there.

Yep, carbon copy of my situation. I don't know if this makes a difference, but one of the pieces of coal did not stay on the cart when they were dropped. Maybe that has something to do with it? Yeah... This is confusing. I'll play it again soon. Certainly it can't happen to me twice! Hah!

After some testing in the boiler room,
Played the whole level once,
Played boiler room section once,
tried boiler room section in the editor.
And the problem you two are mentioning did not occur to me.
So there was no reason for me to use the killswitch.
I pulled it once after the full play, but the lift lowered itself gently, and both the coal and carriage dissapeared.. allowing me to retry that section flawlessly.

If it happens again, or to anybody else.. please invite me to show me because I cannot fix something if I cannot find the problem myself.

Also vista, what did you think about the level prior to you getting stuck?

Great up to that point. I did lots of swearing because of layer shifting trouble but that's a constant problem with LBP, not particular to your level at all. I did think a few jumps were unnecessarily awkward and caused lots of deaths just because of their placement but it's difficult to explain where. One where you jump a gap to 4 offset platforms where you have to get on the top one and grab a red thing above was particularly awkward, especially the jump across initially and the jump from the next to top up to the top one took loads of tries.

I played it again and had exactly the same trouble with the mine cart and had to use the red reset switch. The problem seems to be how the coals fall. I noticed when it broke they fell towards the left of the cart and it never moved again. After resetting and trying again they fell more evenly and more to the right and then it moved ok, so it seems the problem is just how they fall into the cart.

That seems like the same thing that happened to me. They fell toward the left side and one of the coals didn't even stay in the cart, as I had said. Well, that's for me anyway. It would've worked the second time if I hadn't screwed everything up in the first place...2010-07-01 19:50:00

Still strange though,
Ive even let some of my non lbp-ing friends play the level, see if they found the problem but nothing as well.
(did take them a freaking long time lol).
So far the coal has always been dropped into the cart for me, no clue where the problem might be.
When the cart gets its coal, so far it always nicely moved back into the lift.
All i needed to do was pull switch again and it lowered without any problem..

Another great continuum of your story driven level series. The lighting and level design is fantastic and the mining puzzle is a lot of fun. Although the lighting is great, some foggy ones have blinded some objects that seem to be a bit hard to find but I have no complain about this level at all. The monorail looks like it's going to be a lot of fun so can't wait for part 2. 5:star:s and a <3.

F4F "The Hero Chronicles LV4 The Lost Lagoon" after you played it.

I just played this and all I can say is.... Wow!!!

This level was fantastic in every way, from the visuals to the lighting to the gameplay to the sounds to whatever else.

The visuals and lighting were flawless together and it made it really feel like I was inside mines deep in the world with lava!

The old buildings and machinery really looked amazing and the gameplay tied into them was also great.

Needless to say the boiler room big was awesome! I loved the look of it and I liked how it had you running back and forth always doing something or looking for the next thing. Great job on that puzzle

Oh, the sounds. You literally had sounds for everything! Fantastic use of the sound objects - it made the level very immersive.

Well, what can I say other than the level was amazing and I can't wait for pt. 2? Nothing really except :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 Amazing job!!! Really fantastic

If it's not too much to ask, could you play my level "Wasteland Bunker"? There's a link to it's thread in my sig...

Finally played this tonight. Great level once again Luos. You upped your last Legendary level in matter of details and lenght. I wonder where you find the thermo to pull off all those things sometimes! lol
I liked the gameplay and visuals in this one but I was sort of confused in the boiler room. I also think I went through it even if the game said I missed a valve on the right side. Or maybe that was just a bubble popping at the wrong time for some reason. Anyhow, I figured out the boiler room after some time and it still felt satisfying when I was done. I love the cart and the automatic part you put the bucket on it and then the coal inside. Everything when fine for me.

Oh yeah, and indeed your soundwork was good. I must had that you also pulled off some great camera work too.

Thats just a valve we created.
It works almost the same way MM did in their pirates DLC.
