A new Rayman game! without Rabbids!

Archive: 25 posts

well, well, well, look what i just found:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwrHV43RR64
it looks like rayman is going to get the same treatment as sonic, only with GOOD graphics. this is, episodic gameplay, snazzy new handpainted graphics in full1080p, possible co-op, A NEW PLATFORMER WITH RAYMAN!

it is set to be released on XBLA, PSN and wiiware. hopefully there will be a pc version but since they want to show off the new graphics they will probably keep to the consoles with big screens.

also, they're still working on beyond good and evil 2.

all via kotaku!

the old rayman games rule! i dont think this game will be as good as they were but its a fresh wind in a rabbid infested market.
i hope its as bone-hard as rayman one... probably wont be.

for all of you that would happen to love rabbids there is going to be a new game about those too, this time they're messing up the timeline.
gladly its not "rayman raving rabbids" but just "raving rabbids".

trailer reminded me a bit of deathspank:

Wow! That looks fantastic!

..Although I would had prefered a new serious 3D-rayman like rayman 3 or 2 instead, oh well!

Looks like multiplayer will be in there too seeing Globax..globux..glo..BAH, seeing that blue odd thing is running along with rayman in the trailer.

Can't wait!

Hmm... it looks like it could be good as long as the Globux thing itsn't just an annoying gimmick. I think the new Sonic game will rival this though, and more people have heard of Sonic so he'll win ;D2010-06-27 22:35:00

I'm looking forward to playing this, really, but I'd rather they worked on Beyond Good & Evil 2 2010-06-28 14:40:00

they are, a small team of ubisoft people are working on the game at a reasonable speed. they seems to want to keep the game artistic and original and not just a commercial product. this is the kotaku article that i got it from: http://kotaku.com/5573256/beyond-good--evil-2-being-made-by-small-team-to-preserve-its-soul

Yep, I know, I watched Montpellier In Game 2010 live He gave an interview. But I meant, I'd rather they worked more fervently. They'll be busy with all those games... Rayman Origins, Project Dust, Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin.

Just finished playing it through.

I'm assuming everyone at this site loves platforming goodness, so I highly recommend this game! Honestly, I think it's the hardest platforming game I've ever played. It's harder than DK Country Returns. And I know some of you are iffy buying this full price at $60, but it truly is worth it. The replay value is immense as there are tons of levels and stuff to do when you beat the 'last' boss. (i shall say no more)!

I'm about 2/3 through this game (I'm guessing), and I can't recommend it enough to fellow LBP and platformer fans. I don't know if the multiplayer is any good (mainly because there's no online), but alone, it's an absolute blast. I have a review for a game website I wrote that I'll link to later.2011-11-20 04:55:00

Harder than DK Returns, eh? I love platformers that give a good challenge, and I loved the demo, so perhaps I'll give it a go.

Just got the plat trophy after 5 solid days of playing, absolutely amazing game, really disappointed it's not selling well. Did not realize how much I missed Rayman until playing this, I now want more (and a 3D game ala Rayman 2 wouldn't hurt either). This has entered my ever-changing top 3 of 2011, it's just that good. I have a lot more to say but very tired and my pillow is calling me, will try to post more thoughts this week but for now I will just say this has become one of my top 3 favorite 2D platformers of all time right beside DKC2 and Yoshi's Island. At the very least download the demo, it should convince you to buy the game. Must buy for platforming fans, must buy for old-school gamers, this is a love letter from Ancel to us.2011-12-04 23:35:00

really disappointed it's not selling well.

It's shocking how bad the sales are, I havn't seen any numbers but for it to fail to chart in the top 40 on both its debut weekend and the following week likely puts it in the low thousands range.

Can't say I'm surprised, it's a great game but look at what it's up against...AAA titles with lots of name recognition. If it wasn't a full priced game and was also released on PSN, etc. more folks might have been inclined to try it. I was looking forward to this having played Rayman 2 on the Dreamcast and was totatlly sold after playing the demo.

I had a coupon from the local game store that allowed me to buy a game for 15?. I'm a huge fan of platforming and because I've been hearing such good things about this game I decided to give it a go. Now I'm glad I did. I really can't believe this was going to slip past my radar.

Anyone with the tiniest bit of love for the platforming genre has to buy this. If I wasn't so tired right now I'd be playing this all night.
