I've noticed in BC2, that the while piloting the helicopter... The game essentially holds you hand the whole way through. I haven't flown it myself, but from what my friends say, and even what I watch when I go over to their houses, It's not that hard to pilot them, as it was in, say, Battlefield 2.

This comes to my big "WHY DID YOU MAKE THEM NOOB CRUTCHES" part of the post. Why?

Tired of getting my Motocross Bike destroyed by some noob with a chopper.every year games become more noobified. its tragic, really, the amount of user skill that has been taken out of games and replaced with easy mode

That's because the masses have finally caught on to gaming. Those of us that are gamers and have been for quite some time (I'll be 40 at the end of August, I remember when the Atari Pong? system came out...along with the coin-op Space Invaders?) are used to playing games that actually required skill.

Now, as I had just said, that the masses are starting to enjoy what we have been for years...well, they need a leg up. If the game companies just throw out games to the masses (and not to the small group of gamers like they used to) that actually required skill like Mech Warrior, Apache Longbow or any of the Falcon F-16 series (remember THOSE manuals? sheesh...you almost actually learned how to fly a jet fighter), the games (and consoles) would be returned in droves. The masses just haven't had the time to develop the skill that experienced gamers have.

(Not trying to sound elitist here. I like the fact that gaming has become "mainstream." That means it has become accepted by our culture. But I, too, don't care for the "dumbing-down" of it...but it is necessary for the culture to ultimately accept it. Eventually, the skill of the masses will increase. Hopefully...hehe.)

All weapons are great if you know how they work, what their advantages and limitations are.
Some weapons are easy in use and others are more difficult but when managing to handle the more difficult weapons they are as deadly as the easy weapons.
when guy A with easy gun is more successful than guy B using more difficult gun? And guy A doesn't even want to learn how to use other guns, he always uses his easy gun. Are his kills, merits and stuff well deserved?
A is a noob and will never improve, B is still the better player.
This, but people who improvise are usually better than those who rely on the best weapons to do well. One rager called me a cheater hacking noob, just because I outgunned him with the AEK, while he was using the AN-94.

This makes it seem as if the guns are very unbalanced however. If indeed the An-94 is the most powerful AR it is NOT by much at all. The player still makes much, much, much more of a difference than any gun in this game does.

No one is denying this in a general sense. Most guns have a fairly linear progression in regards to player skill and effectiveness. The better you are as a player, the better you'll perform with a gun. I'll say it clearly so people will understand and we can get rid of arguments that are just plain wrong: the same holds true for the AN-94. The better a player you are, the better you'll perform with the weapon. That's just simple logic.

However... my gripe is that the Abakan is already extremely effective even if you aren't particularly skilled. The gun is so noob-friendly that almost anyone can pick it up and go to town with it. Simply put: it's very easy to use. Compare it to the CG. Now, I'm not saying that the AN-94 is as broken as the CG (not by a long shot!) but the CG is a weapon that almost everyone agrees is overpowered. Yet why is the CG so broken? Because the entire skill factor is removed. Anyone can pick it up, miss their target wildly and still get kills. It's a noob weapon not because its the most effective one, but because it's a cheap one that requires no actual effort on the user's part.
And I don't think I need to mention that 'easy' weapons usually (but admittedly not always) tend to be overpowered.

And for the record: I don't hold excessive Abakan users in a particularly low regard, although it bothers me when they start claiming that they're all pro and 'leet' (similar to Trigger here who is actually proud of his pre-patch M60 kills  ), they automatically disregard any contrary opinions as coming from noobs and would never actually admit that the Abakan is noticeably easier to use and get kills with than the other AR's. I don't fault them simply because they use the best weapons, but because they actually go ahead and claim that the Abakan is just fine when statistics (and reality) clearly show it isn't.

This post is about The Gun and not the user
Many people say things are overpowered. but they just get killed by them Alot! (Overused guns)
but there are real overpowered guns in this game and i explain why!
a overpowered gun is a gun in a game that is out of balance with every other gun in the game
and that is when you got something overpowered
the overpowered gun in this game is the
-AN-94

the AN-94 because the 25 damage it got per bullet
it shoots 2 bullets per Burst
so 2 bursts is a kill and it got High accuracy and a high rate of fire so a guy with a good trigger finger (like me ) can kill you in 1 second'
but you may think 'Shut up Noob learn to play'
but i aint Whining i am just saying its overpowered because it is!
Some people claim other guns are overpowered but they aren't you know.
in the begin of bad company 2 I though the AK-74 was overpowered
Because i was getting killed by that gun Alot
but that gun was just Overused! and that is how you get Whiners
''Many people say things are overpowered. but they just get killed by them Alot!''
if you know there are 3 kinds of weapons
-Overpowered (The weapon is killing and not you. No Skill needed)
-Balanced (weapons with a Good balance.you and the weapon both kill the target! normal skill needed)
-Skillful (Weapons that are many times weaker and the player who uses it most have much skill to Kill with it)
But then we most just learn to life with Overpowered guns till dice can fix them
and that is my explanation about overpowered guns
Questions?
I have to admit i use overpowered guns sometimes because some times you want to have some easy kills are you enemy is to strong
